"if you need any extra take mine, I don't ever want to see these rags again..." Thursday tosses her old clothes towards where camp is being made, "As for marching orders, I don't want to be first but I'm okay towards the front."

The group steps down into the shelter of the cracks in the rocky ground, while Dark and Rumble get to work with the strips of cloth they have been given. With a bit of tying, and using the chest as a weight, they manage to make a basic canopy to provide a decent amount of shade. Headed beneath to where the others are, they begin to rest alongside them.
While resting, the shade does appear to help with maintaining the heat. The desert area appears to be silent apart from the shuffling of the party removing sand from themselves, taking a moment to ensure there isn't any stuck between their toes or on their legs.
The group may benefit from a short rest, spending hit dice if they so wish. If the party wishes to attempt a long rest, please state so and we'll see what happens.
Killian, sits under the freshly constructed tent his back against a wall, removing the foot covering and shaking out the sand, he pulls some strips of cloth he has in one of his pouches and begins to wipe his feet clean of sand that is stuck between his toes and putting the foot coverings back on. He takes a drink of water as well, taking this time to regain his composure after being in the hot sun for all that time. speaking out loud to the group, "I'm just gonna rest my eyes a bit while yall figure out what to do next. if ya need me to weigh in on some thing just let me know" he closes his eyes and if left alone for 5 min will be asleep until woken up.

Leojym will sit cross-legged under the shelter and speak for the first time in a while through rough, crackled lips. "Are we alright for water right now? I feel thirst my be one of the great dangers here, so do not wait to tell me."
As soon as the makeshift camp was finished, Rumble took a mini-break towards the edge of the shelter. If need be, he was even willing to let his legs dangle out awkwardly off the side to make sure everyone had enough room. But unlike the rest, the earth genasi spared no energy on brushing sand from his body. If anything, the youth basked in after laying down, thoroughly enjoying the sand bath.
"You know I'll always take the lead on that point there, Miss Mara... 'cept when Mr. Dark does... or Killian... But that's only cuz one can fly, 'nd the other is more or less the de facto leader of this little thing we got going here."Rumble comments on idly. He passes around his waterskin should there be any left at this point, or to Leogym if there is none. He'd also pass around the jar of bugs if anyone is looking particularly puckish at the moment. "Speak'n of taking the lead on things -- How you two hanging up?" He shuffles his head around to look over the pair of elf children. "Yaw'll did agree with old Mr. Kaz'lam right? 'bout this being the right way to civilization."

Thursday reluctantly takes the jar of bugs. She thinks back in her youth living on the streets. She had often times not known or not recieved her next meal and wasn't a stranger to unconventional meals. Though, its been a while since she's had to resort to that. Its the reason she became a thief in the first place. She grabs a few bugs and throw them back down her mouth. After crunching on them for a while she looks for the waterskin to wash them down.
"Thanks." She swallows and says. "You know Rumb, you got the front... count on me to have your back."
Thursday then offers the bug jar to anyone else, not knowing if this has been something everyone else has been partaking in or not... if no one takes it after she holds it out for a while, she'll shrug and hand it back to Rumble.

Darnell accepts a single bug, chewing it slowly and with reluctance. He passes on the jar and sits near the edge of the canopy. In a few minutes he is asleep.
Mara takes some of the bugs and quickly does what Thursday had done, swigging some water to down the taste of the bugs. "Alright that sounds like a fair plan when we set out for the next step of this march. As before those of us with magic should stay in the middle to attack at range or if needed to heal in my own case. In fact if anyone needs to be healed now let me know before we rest as my magic will be back before we set out once more."
Dark has no issue with eating bugs or frankly any thing. Being kin with vultures comes in handy when the food is scarce. Feeling proud of his ability to help the group with the tent, he finishes off his water. “Didn’t the Giant wolf and his friend say the community up ahead was pretty dangerous? I wonder how far to them.” Still talking his eyes start to give into his fatigue.

(Okay, so if the group is taking a long rest, I would suggest some people taking some watch rotas. Since there are nine people in the current group, a couple of people can be on each of the watches, so everyone can rest and less chance of the group being jumped on.)

"So overall, business as usual then?"Rumble jests in reply to Mara and Leo's statement. Assuming there's no objections, and after making sure the children got ate -- even if it meant being a bit more pushy about it this time -- Rumble positions himself to take 1st watch should no others object... and everyone of course agreed for a longer sit down. Tired as he was, the earth genasi was no stranger to putting off a bit of sleep for a little longer for the sake of the others.
