“We’re not saying we won’t help.. but you’re acting awfully defensive and avoiding our questions limits our capabilities to provide accurate support does it not “ Wreji says with a tinge of annoyance.
Glim seems torn; the lure of loot and shiny things fighting hard with the idea of helping the wounded. He finally sighs and looks to their "guide". "Go anywhere the dead won't. Let us help your friends while we can yes? Made sure the creepy thing is dead you have?"
If the neogi corpse isn't obviously deceased (aka missing major parts, in large pool of blood, etc.), Glim will go over for a closer look before following their guide to the wounded crew.
Benoto smiles a little and leads Pim and Glim up the ladder leading out of the cargo space. (Will Nip search the hold with Wreji, or follow the other three?)
Wreji investigates the carnage and sees that all the bodies have circular bite marks on them, including the neogi. The bodies are in varying states of decay, and several of the bodies seem to have had their brains removed. Although several scimitars and crossbows are scattered about the room, the corpses show no evidence of having been struck by them. (Do you continue investigating the hold? Or do you want to follow the previous group?)
Nip is skeptical of the situation. He calls to Wreji, "Let's not split up in an unknown location with who-knows-what in here." He follows the group staying back from the guide. His bow is out with an arrow notched. Nip will also use Primeval Awareness. For 1 minute per level of the spell slot you expend, you can sense whether the following types of creatures are present within 1 mile of you (or within up to 6 miles if you are in your favored terrain): aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, and undead. This feature doesn’t reveal the creatures’ location or number.
Wreji also follows the group, pulling Nip to the side whispering "Brains missing, even the supposed attackers have the same bite marks. Keep on guard" He keeps his hand on the pommel of his sword as he takes out his shield before following up much more loudly, "Say, how many of you were in here anyways? All civilians?"

Nip:
You sense the presence of aberrations...
Benoto looks over his shoulder and sees all four of you following him. He answers Wreji's question - "We had 14 crew, all salvagers..." DC15 Insight:
A slight grimace or perhaps look of exasperation crosses Benoto's face when he sees Wreji and Nip.
He leads you up the ladders through the battle deck and then up again into the bridge deck (#4 on the map). The nautiloid’s bridge has a high ceiling. Stairs ascend to a forward observation deck (#2), and toward the stern a ladder climbs to the top of a balcony (#3). Map:

Nip notices the unease cross Benoto's face when he realizes that the team won't be splitting up. Between that and the sense that aberrations were on board, Nip is on high alert. Nip already has an arrow notched in his bow and adds another one. At the first sign of any disturbance, (on his turn) Nip will let out a loud screech and call forth his swarm of mites. They will briefly engulf his form before channeling down his arm and into the head of the arrows. He will fire two shots at Benoto aiming at the head and chest.
1st Attack: 28 Damage: 15
2nd Attack: 26 Damage: 14
If either hit, add 1 damage as the swarm feasts upon the wounds
As the group enters the bridge area, they catch the hint that something is amiss. A 4' long, worm-like creature with legs that end in hooves and arms that end in hands with three long fingers hides behind the stairs. Its eyeless head resembles that of an earthworm, capped by a maw ringed with teeth.
Nip immediately attacks Benoto, firing two arrows at almost point-blank range into the man! The insects swarm into the man's flesh with the arrows... Benoto falls to his knees - not dead but critically injured.
Pim looks from Benoto to Nip and then back to Nip, confusion on his face before shaking himself for a moment and yelling 'Hold a moment, we must take stock of the ... ' the Giff looks at the wormlike creature and then back to their guide bleeding out on the floor.
Arrow-nocked and ready, Pim finds himself paralyzed with indecision on what to do or how to proceed.
(Held Action - Attack against any creature that takes a hostile action against Pim or his comrades )

A total of four creatures emerge from behind the stairs and look at you! (Everybody make a DC13 Wis save. The creatures each cast suggestion on you:)

Pim's shoulders relax ever so slightly, his suspicious nature giving way just a bit. 'Alright, let's go see about these friends of yours'
