The streets of Sevenbeam Town were full of Lillipups and Zigzagoons going about their business in an attempt to stick to their old routines even though it's was difficult to say the least. In the town square a female Nidoran is selling various berries that her and her sister picked in the forest, a Galarian Zigzagoon is putting on a show for those who aren't shopping, a male Nidoran selling potions and antidotes and a Herdier in a police uniform that seems to be making sure that nobody is trying to steal anything. In the middle of the square a Corviknight lands and the door of the taxi beneath it opens to let out it's riders.
"I normally don't fly this far out but given how things have been lately, I'm happy to lend you my services." The Corviknight say as he glances down at the Pokémon that exited the taxi.
{Please introduce your characters, also sorry that it's so short.}
"Thank you, Thank you." The sounds of a magnemite rang out as it left the wing of the Corviknight. "Things have been odd. And I've just been trying to survive... after all that has happened."
It did seem to be a magnemite, unremarkable, though the brilliant stainless steel appeared to be more stained than it should have been.
A mushroom looking stone hops out of the carriage. Its bottom half is milky white cube with two orange, rectangular eyes and a brown bulging head with multiple thin white bands coming from the top, down. The Nacli hops to his left and right, looking around.
“This looks nice and peaceful, considering. And thank you for the company” He says as he looks at the Magnemite warmly. “What was your name, again?”
"Oh, 372. I never quite used a name in my time, so I'm only now getting used to it... What is yours?"
They tilted their head, and thus the rest of their body, staring at the individual with curiosity. He had never seen a pokemon like this before. Then again, he hadn't seen almost any of these pokemon before.
"Oh how interesting! Mine in Deneric. While I'm getting more used to our situation, I have not seen someone simply levitate like you do! In fact, I'm trying to understand what HAS happened and I've been making my way around to figure it out."
After the taxi stopped and the Corviknight talked, Finfire lifted her head from the window. She had begun to drift off and was now waking back up. As 372 and Deneric talked, she slowly got up a bit groggy. Rubbing her eyes with her little feet. She then reached up to her cheeks to feel that the orange fins were still there. Exiting the taxi to join the others she leaned on the closest pole or still heavy object with a yawn. Being a small mudkip was taking some getting used to.
Yawning again she stands up straight on her four legs. "Yeah I didn't exactly get a good night's rest unfortunately." Walking up to join the others "My name is Finfire. Nice to meet you all."
The Corviknight turns his head slightly as he glances down at the trio. "Not many have gotten use to this, my trainer was transformed into an Onix and he's certainly not enjoying it. But that's besides the point, I should probably be going soon." He seems to sigh softly as he says this. "If you ever find yourself in need of a ride I do believe my trainer had a couple cousins who live in this region, they might be able to help you."
As the Corviknight begins to take off the Herdier that had been watching the market approaches them. Once he reaches the trio he gives them a quick once over. "You wouldn't happen to be members of the expedition team Professor Mahogany sent for, would you? Because if you are then I hate to inform you of this but at the moment the professor's whereabouts are currently unknown."
The Herdier looks surprised by 372's response and shakes his head slightly. "My sincerest apologies for jumping to conclusions little one, I just assumed that since we normally don't get many travelers here in Sevenbeam Town." He says before glancing at the others when he sees Deneric he tilts his head to the side and let's out a little 'hmmm?'. "Perhaps they arrived yesterday then. I-if you need a place to rest up for the evening the town has a small inn to the south of here, it's called 'The Shadow Claw inn' and it's not that bad of a place to rest your head. If you're looking for work I do believe that Miss Valentina over there could be of assistance, or you could pay the lab a visit. The professor may be missing but her assistant should be there, he's not from around here but he seems nice enough."
"Professor?" Deneric asks to himself. "They seem like just the person who would best know what's going on. I say we should go to the lab and ask around to get a lead and go from there. What do you guys think?" Deneric says, having a bit of determination in his voice.
Finfire nods in agreement. "Finding the professor sounds like a good place to start." She looks to the Herdier. "How to we get to the lab, um... I'm sorry, I don't believe we got your name."
The Herdier thinks for a moment before motioning behind the trio with one of his paws. "Okay so first you're going to want to turn around, then go forwards until you come to a crossroads. If you go straight you'd be headed for Wildpatter Forest and the shadow claw inn, if you go to the right then you'd be headed towards the police station and the 'mayor's' house, if you go to the left then you'd be headed towards the former Pokécenter and shop. You'll want to go to the left on the right side of the road you'll see what looks to be a small mansion, in reality it is actually the professor's lab. I'm not entirely sure why she chose that old place to do her research from but to each his own." He replied to Finfire before tilting his head to the side. After a couple seconds he lets out a soft chuckle. "Ah, my sincerest apologies. I am Officer Dylan, I'm still rather new here but I've been helping Officer Jenny keep team shadow from creating problems in town."
"Team Shadow?" Deneric replies. Turning towards his party-mates Deneric says "Well, if they're attempting to create some problems, they might have a hand in the professor's disappearance." Deneric turns back to Dylan "We appreciate your help Officer Dylan" Deneric gives a slight nod and starts heading towards the lab.
As the party starts to make their way towards the lab they notice that some of the nearby buildings look as though they have seen better days. One has a decent sized chunk missing out of it almost as if it had been hit with a powerful attack or two, other than a Growlithe and Hisuian Growlithe nobody seems to be near it. As you pass by the building you overhear a small snip-it of their conversation.
"Jenny are you sure they said that it was a Copperajah and a Rapidash that caused this damage?" The Hisuian Growlithe asked as he glanced up at the building with a hint of curiosity in his voice. Not a moment later the Regular Growlithe replied with, "That is exactly what they said, although I wonder why they'd attack here of all places?" The Hisuian Growlithe tapped the ground with one of his paws before taking a small step closer to the building. "It's hard to tell with that group but if they were the ones behind this then that would give them a good reason to attack here and try recking the professor's lab. Good thing Rose decided to stay back so he could keep an eye on the research that he'd been doing while she's away." The other Growlithe rolled her eyes before turning to him. "Benny, it's not Rose. I'm pretty sure he said his name was Ross."
{It's all good, sometimes the notifications act up and won't show up for some reason. I've had it happen to me in a couple of games here.}
Officer Jenny turns her attention towards Finfire. "It's alright, we've been a little short handed or rather short pawed around here lately." She looks a little surprised by her question but after a couple seconds she replies with, "You must be new around here I take it. The group in question is a group of troublemakers known as team Shadow. Their activity started becoming more of note a few days before all of this happened." When she say 'all of this' she moves her paw in a circular motion.
"Headquarters believes that they are behind this sudden change that happened, and since the professor was trying to investigate it's source and trying to figure out a way to change everyone back, they would have a motive for wanting her research to be destroyed. Although they had no clue about her assistant."

Deneric looks up toward the new movement.
"Hey" Deneric says toward Finfire with a soft inflection. "I'm glad to see you're awake. You seemed a bit exhausted on the ride."
"Oh, hello! I hope it didn't tire you out. What's your name, might I ask?" He was more used to this body. After all, he always had this body.
Yawning again she stands up straight on her four legs.
"Yeah I didn't exactly get a good night's rest unfortunately."

Finfire yawns again.
"Thank you Officer Dylan."
She casually starts heading to the lab as well.
As the party starts to make their way towards the lab they notice that some of the nearby buildings look as though they have seen better days. (No idea why but I was not notified of a reply, I just checked to be sure)
Finfire looks over the damage as she overhears the conversation. She stops near the people talking and looks to them.
"Pardon me for intruding. But I couldnt help but hear a part of your conversation. What group and reason might you be talking about?"
{It's all good, sometimes the notifications act up and won't show up for some reason. I've had it happen to me in a couple of games here.}
Officer Jenny turns her attention towards Finfire. "It's alright, we've been a little short handed or rather short pawed around here lately."
