Shadow trying to be quiet about it, tries to pick the lock on the door. After 15 minutes he is convinced that the lock is beyond him at the moment (you can try again after a short or long rest).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Laladak and Shadow decide to try to break down the door, they ram it together and shatter the Iron bound wooden gear door into a few pieces. As the door breaks apart an audible alarm produces the sound of a loud hand bell sounds for a round. Anyone within 60 feet of the door can hear the ringing clearly. The same instant two spectral sickles attack Laladak and Shadow. These ghostly weapons pass right through your armor (giving Laladak an AC of 12 and Shadow an AC of 14) leaving you feeling chilled upon contact. Attack on Laladak Attack: 9 Damage: 2. Attack on Shadow Attack: 16 Damage: 2.
The attack on Laladak misses, while the ghostly sickle slices Shadow.
The room beyond has dead rats, broken bits of furniture, and debris litter the floor of this dusty chamber. A torch burns in a sconce between a round door and a crudely burrowed tunnel in the west wall. The lone occupant is squatting down by the pile of rocks and rubble, it is wearing a thick wolfskin cloak and a black ceramic wolf mask is half covering it's face. The uncovered part of it's face and it's hands are strangely ghost like. He was in the process of bringing something to it's mouth when the door shatters and the alarm sounds. Startled it throws the something at (odd = Laladak, even = Shadow) 1. Attack 14 Damage1non-lethal deamage. Laladak feels a thud on his armor looking down he sees a bloody mess of a rat has impacted his armor, but did no damage. The creature grabs a rapier laying on the floor and dashes into the tunnel, shrugging off the wolf cloak.
Alben as you had a firebolt readied, you can try to hit him with the firebolt before he starts running. He does have three-quarters cover because you are shooting through the door and past Laladak and Shadow. (A target with three-quarters cover has a +5 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws.)
If you want to pursue him into the tunnel I will need initiatives, if not don't worry rolling. His initiative in the spoiler.
Alben misses the creatur. It runs into the tunnel, managing to shrug off the wolf cloak around the tunnel entrance.
Laladak is a round behind as he enters the rough hewn 5 ft diameter tunnel he sees the tunnel extends 30 feet with a branching tunnel to the south there is s faint light coming from the southern tunnel. At the end of the 30 feet he sees the creature, but it starts to fade before his eyes. It looks like a ghostly version of the skulk you fought in Keygen's office.
Laladak you can use a dash to try to catch up with him, but if you do you need a athletics or acrobatics check DC 15 as there are loose stones and it mostly dark.
Everyone can act after Laladak decides whether or not to try to catch him.
Laladak almost catches up with him, but stumbles 5 feet behind him. You can see that where he disappear there is a 90° turn in the tunnel to the north (5 feet from where you are)
Up to the rest of the party.

With a shrug, Tyris says, "Unless someone wants to try to just break it down, I think we just move on."
Although curious, Oreus says:
"No, let's move on, we would make too much noise..."
Laladak says, "I'm tired of playing it quiet," and rams the door full force Athletics 22
