Shadow almost breaks his newly acquired Masterwork Thieves Tools as a pick got jammed. He was able to save the Thieves Tools, but believes that this lock is beyond his skills to open.
As Shadow approaches the eastern door the sounds of hammering and of a big fire intensify. Looking in he can see an L shaped room. To the south (the toe of the L) there is a closed door with a Hobgoblin who while is obviously standing guard, is trying to take a short nap. To the east the room is 50 feet across with an opened area to the north that you can't see from your position. The sounds of hammering is coming from the unseen portion of the room, along with a bright fiery glow. A cylindrical iron cage, five foot tall and two feet wide, dangle from the ceiling by iron chains. The bottom of the cage hang five feet above the floor, and a giant fire beetles locked within them shed a lurid orange glow. In front of the cage in another Hobgoblin facing north, he is obvious to you, and looks like he has been around the noisy room for far to long.
The party gets a surprise round and then roll initiatives.
Shadow shoots at the hobgoblin in front of him, but misses. He then moves to engage the hobgoblin, in doing so he can see the rest of the room..
This smithy is unpleasantly warm and filled with the stench of hot metal and ash. A blazing forge dominates the east wall, flanked by malachite caryatids depicting dwarven metalsmiths. In front of the hearth rests a ten-foot-wide, twenty-foot-long slab of gray stone surmounted by two black anvils. Barrels of water and metalsmithing tools rest nearby. Two cylindrical iron cages, each one five foot tall and two feet wide, dangle from the ceiling by iron chains. The bottoms of the cages hang five feet above the floor, and the giant fire beetles locked within them shed a lurid orange glow. Atop the slab, a female dwarf (yellow S) and three goblins hammer away at a pair of newly forged javelins while two halflings (yellow J & M) sit on the floor nearby, linking together tiny chains for what will ultimately become a suit of armor. The dwarf and halflings have manacles binding their ankles. Two more board Hobgoblin are guarding the two halflings.

Surprise Round:
Rellahne moves until she's just outside the door, right in front of where Shadow would be if he hadn't moved. Right there, she makes her owl appear behind H1's shoulder.
Ollie hoots once it's summoned back into this realm, in a small attempt to distract H1 and help on the next attack.

Tyris moves and shoots at H1, killing him.
Fario uses his Cunning Action to dash next to H2 and swing his Longsword Attack: 11 Damage: 7, missing the hobgoblin.
Fellian will move to right behind Oreus (round 1) and shoot his Shortbow Attack: 7 Damage: 9 at H2, but the arrow shatters against the stone door.
Alben moves ahead 30 feet, placing him at the corner of the bigger area, but not quite enough to see the hobgoblins. Not sure if the goblins are friend or foe he casts a Fire Bolt at H2 Attack: 20 Damage: 1, but misses.

Rellahne moves a bit behind Shadow and stands exactly 10 ft south of Alben where she hopefully will be able to view the main chamber. Yet she decides to attack H2 who she's seen being hit by multiple party members. Specifically, she's casting [spell]Ray of Frost against the hobgoblin.

Shadow fires an arrow at the hobgoblin in the northeastern corner and kills it. He then moves into the southwestern corner, gaining some cover from the hanging cage. (I totally miss read where he moved to.) He then moves back into the western part of the room, 15 feet above Fario.
H2 has been abruptly awakened from his nap, bamy all the spells, swords, and arrows that have almost hit him. He attacks Fario with a Two-handed Longsword Attack: 18 Damage: 4, but he is a little slow on his feet.
H4 moves up around the slab, standing next to G2 and drawing out his Longbow, shoots at Shadow Attack: 7 Damage: 10. The Arrow flies true and pierces Shadow's armor, leaving Shadow badly wounded.
G1 grabs one of the newly forged javelins and throws it at Rellahne. Javelin Attack: 8 Damage: 8, hitting her.
G2 jumps off the slab, taking the hammer he has been using moves to attack Shadow with the Hammer Attack: 11 Damage: 8. He hits Shadow squarely on the head, leaving Shadowunconscious.
G2 moves through G1's space and jumps off the slab, taking the hammer he has been using. He moves to attack Alben with the Hammer Attack: 12 Damage: 3, hitting Alben with the hammer.
G3 takes the hammer away from the dwarf, and makes sure, she is not going to be able to take her revenge.
Oreus moves behind the pillar (between Fellian and Alben) and drinks another healing potion. (If you want to change that, just let me know what you fo instead.)
The arrow fired at Rellahne actually hits her ward, leaving it damaged, although still there. Meanwhile, Rellahne has yet to take a single hit herself.
Tyris remains in the doorway, marking G2 as his prey and drawing an arrow to loose at the goblin. (If it's behind the wall as opposed to directly to the right of Alben, then I'll move into the room to get LoS)
