The Watch Officer is intentionally trying to move people along and is largely blocking your view of the scene. It is hard to determine the race of the dead, some may be smaller than the average human.

The Watch Officer gives Osborne a condescending look and says ‘Well let me think, there is a big old gang war going on and I’ve got some dead Xana’s and some Zents covered in blood. So I’m guessing a tea party gone wrong. What do you think is going on? Unless you got something useful to add then move on. This aint no street theatre’

Ballen takes quick look as well but knows better than to push her luck around the guards and quickly moves on through the shadows alongside the group. (INV: 11)
Ballen notices that the bodies are clearly neither human nor halfing, as they have claws for feet.
The party walks down a side alley towards the docks.
When you are out of sight of the Watch, a human male steps out into sight flanked by two burly looking thugs. He looks directly at Eilla and says ‘Well now missy. Your old boss had something I want. Now he didn’t have it on him when we finished our discussion and the word at the docks is that you took his stuff. So hand it over and you won't have to suffer the same fate as him.’
Ballen will note the clawed feet but keep the information to herself for the time being until it seemed more relevant, as the bodies couldn't have been the person they were looking for. She stays toward the back of the group though as they are accosted in the side alley, keeping an eye on the intruders.
Does Kelytha know any of the Watch that have cordoned off the street? If so she'd try to talk to them (sorry, wish I'd spotted these posts earlier).
Kelytha addresses the human male jovially, but her hand resting on her longsword reveals the barely hidden threat in her words. "What's the plan here pal? Three of you against six of us? Do yourselves a favour and jog on, eh?"
Kelytha hangs back to talk to the Watch Officers. As the others move down the alley, a more friendly Half-Orc Officer comes over to her and says with obvious tiredness in her voice ‘Hello Kelytha, it’s been a while. Looks like you got out just in time, we lost Brown-Nose Billy last week to this madness. I guess he will never make sergeant now.’
[OOC: We can finish this conversation before jumping back to the alley]
Kelytha sighs in exasperation. "Aah not Billy! Poor guy. I suppose getting cosy with the Civs doesn't make you dagger-proof. So what's going on here Korel? This looks a bit bigger than the usual street scraps." She tries to peer around her former colleague but fails to see anything of value (Nat 1).
(Civs being the various levels of Civilar, anything above Sargeant.)
Korel replies ‘Look Kelytha, there is something weird going on. We aren’t getting the support we should be getting and things are getting worse on the streets. I cannot say more here, but there is a wake for Billy tomorrow night at the Wyvern's Rest. If you come by then I can let you know more.’ Korel turns back to interviewing the prisioners

The pirate continues to look at Eilla but responds to Kelytha's comment by saying ‘Best keep your old watch-dogs in line unless someone decides to put them down for good. Now missy we made a mistake by putting your old boss down too quickly and got nothing to show for it. So I’m here being all talky and civilised because I want my stuff. I’ll take my chances by looking over your corpses if need be, but for now I’m willing to give you a chance to talk.’

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sinak standing behind and to the side of Eilla grits his teeth and says a quick prayer to himself “Words from my mouth, Raven Queen!”, and with a growl to his voice says “Careful with your words, Eilla’s watch dogs have quite a bite. Understand that we are crew, each other’s strength. Back off. Now.”

The Watch Officer has already started shouting at other people to move on.

Cat frowns. "The violence is getting worse every day... how awful."
“Oi, that couldn’t be more true”
"Let's get going, Emilio... probably... wasn't among them," Eilla supposes. If there are no objections she continues leading the way to the Dock Ward.
