Katarina looks very proud as Niska heaps praise upon her skill with the blade, but as the conversation quickly continues past that bit, she decides to focus on eating. The Tabaxi, true to her word, does not take any alcoholic beverages and instead laps cream from a saucer, and she is not even slightly shy about eating her fill of whatever meat dishes are available.
"Yes, Katarina is very grateful for the food,"she says with a smile, then takes a moment to groom herself and lick away some of the cream that escaped her mouth.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Prior to entering the inn, Eila informs Jade of the 135GP she owes Scribe Tudela, and informs her in no uncertain terms that covering said cost is her own duty.
At the inn, as is apparently her wont, Eila is thoroughly soused before long, occasionally picking at a leg of some roasted bird when she remembers to get some calories in from something that isn't wine. At Zaphi's words, she raises a glass toward him in a toast, "Agreed Zaphi, cheers to our hosts!"
"Should be maybe say our strengths and one weakness," Niska asks.
She chugs the raised glass and puts it down heavily. "Oh I so should've prepared Zone of Truth! I'll go first, I'll go first," she says, leaning forward to look Niska dead in the eye with a look that might've been serious if her cheeks weren't so ruddy, "I've never learned to tie knots. These aren't tied. They're just tucked in," she raises her arms to show the red cords wrapped around her forearms, "It screws me over all the time. I've tried to learn but I just don't get it."
"But strengths, all my strength comes from Ilmater himself," she says emphatically. She straightens up and takes hold of her holy symbol. "For those in the darkness; endure, for each trial is a chance to recieve his mercy." With the incantation said, the area around them dims as if the evening was on the verge of night, painting the 30ft around them in the deep purples and oranges of sunset. Though uninjured, the group all feel a sense of their little aches and pains and the twinges in their necks from being hunched over books all day fade away as Eila channels divinity to cast Twilight Sanctuary
(OOC: For all it matters, you all now have 7 Temporary hit points)
"Ilmater's wounds," Jade shakes her head and tries to assess just how many Eila has had, realizing that more than enough is the only answer that really matters.
Jade looks around the table as she drains her second glass of wine, waiting to see who will speak next.
Katarina looks around and sees that no one else seems to be answering the question, so she decides to go next.
"Katarina is very strong, and powerful magic is in her blood,"the cat says thoughtfully. "But... she cannot figure out how to channel the magic into spells, though Katarina has tried many times. The magic seems to have a will all its own... such a nuisance it can be at times!"

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Eila turns to the tabaxi, failing to notice Jade slip away. "Have you thought about seeing a tutor, help you learn magic? There's plenty of learned people here in Candlekeep." She turns to look to Elliðaey, "Is that right, would there be wizardly types someone could study under here?"
"Of course Zaphi, " Elliðaey replies to the kobold. "Eat up. It's going to be rations for awhile ahead," she explains.
At the table....
Niska chuckles at Eila's joke and makes an exhilarated sound when the wash of temporary HP envelopes her.
"Ah..." Niska blushes composing herself. "My strengths are more the natural sort. I am keen at finding food and water anywhere. I can construct a shelter out of basically very little, and I have magic too," the ranger says conjuring a flower out of midair and grinning as she passes it to Eila. "Thank you for the boost," she nods. "My flaws well..." she ponders with a comical expression. "It takes a lot for me to get serious about things. I mean don't get me wrong. Life in the wilds are wholly unpredictable but I love nature. She can be a fickle mistress but she's given me all I have," she adds with a shrug. "Elliðaey," she asks the monk conjuring yet another flower and holding it out to Elliðaey.
"Ah. Oh, for me," Elliðaey replies a little flustered. She takes the flower, a fragrant peony, and holds it rather wooden without her normal graceful movements. "I think I'm not a sure footed leader of a group this size but in that shortcoming know I will do everything in my utmost power to protect you and guide our journey, " she answers. "Also I hate rats," she adds nervously looking away from Niska's continued gaze.
Eila asks her questions about wizards providing instruction at the Keep and jumps on the chance to focus on something else!
"No, they do their own research I'm afraid. No one gives instruction but that doesn't mean that you couldn't find some here who isn't willing to teach you," Elliðaey replies to Eila question and smiles at Katarina. "This is a sanctuary of learning but not of instruction if that makes sense, " she adds. "I would think your magic if uncertainty is it's motive might require a lot of instruction however, " she then adds musing aloud. "Wild magic as it's called can be fairly dangerous and as you've mentioned highly unpredictable, " the monk adds giving Katarina a curious look as if trying to read her a little more closely than before.
OOC Millicent and Jade's conversation can be here or through PMs.
"Well you are quite skilled Nishka and I am sure in the coming days those skills will come in handy. Well I am stuffed and can't eat another bite. For me I am ... lets say dexterous." says Zaphi as he eyes the newcomers.
He then looks to Katerina "Your quite unique in a number of ways. I suppose I welcome you since our leader is fine with it. Shall we retire for the night?"
Zaphi expression is more neutral as he looks over these new additions. I am sure the road ahead may be dangerous and extra hands are always welcomed, but best be cautious for now.
"I have another engagement but I will return later," Elliðaey nods to the party. "Good evening all," the monk says standing up from the table. "We're in the House of Rest. Room 302 if you two would like to join us," Elliðaey adds addressing Katarina and Niska cheerily before she exits the Hearth!
"Ah...where's she off too," Niska asks the party her eyes following Elliðaey's exit slightly put out by Elliðaey who left the conjured flower gift behind!
OOC We can skip forward if no one else has further RP business during this downtime!
"Katarina has tried many times to leash the magic," the feline says, with a hint of sadness in her voice. "And her father, Grand Duke Proud Shadow, leader of the Mystic Paws, tried many times to teach Katarina how to shape the power into spellcraft. He even tried on more occasions than one to call upon beings of the Faywild and Shadowfell to make pacts and harness the power for Katarina, but neither the fairy queen nor the skeleton wizard could do what he asked of them... it truly seems that the magic in Katarina does not wish to be tamed."
Katarina's eyes take on a distant look, and it is clear she is remembering something painful.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
The party rests soundly in the House of Rest and awaken to find Elliðaey missing from the communal room. They pack their belongings and go to the Hearth for a parting breakfast. They arrive to find plenty of seekers beginning their day early too. Either risen early to study or to depart the party has a hard time getting a table large enough until Elliðaey appears beckoning them into a separate room from the main tavern area.
"Here," Elliðaey calls, "Millicent, Zaphi..." she trails off waving the party over toward these double doors and more private room.
Upon entering they find Elliðaey and a table laiden with a feast! A plethora of breakfast foods across species traditions with plenty of cooked meats, fresh vegetables and fruits along with more simple faire in porridge.
"Eat, please my friends, " a very handsome seemingly human man with a deep, husky voice greets the party as they enter.
He has pupiless amber eyes, his skin an ochre color, much like the mellow-brown light that bathed the forest. He is a stranger to all the party but seems to command a familiar presence.
"Join us," Elliðaey says smiling sitting back at the table beside this impossible handsome man who then looks at her with love in his face, Elliðaey has quite a glow about her too! "This is the Keeper of Tomes, Lucero de la Vega. He wished to send us off on our journey with good fortune, " she introduces the man who continues to beam a smile at everyone!
Eila glances between Elliðaey, Lucero, Millicent, and Niska - who Eila had, at this point, assumed to be her ex or something given the weird tension. She decides some questions aren't worth asking, schools her slightly confused expression into a polite smile and takes a seat beside the two scholars.
"Good morning. I'm Eila, thank you very much for the hospitality, Keeper." she extends her hand to shake Lucero's and looks between him and Elliðaey for an answer from either, "Is this a special occasion or do you often come to personally see off Candlekeep's scholars when they leave?"
Zaphi joins the others and smiles at the breakfast before him. "I am always ready of a delicious meal that is not jerky" He eyes Lucero. Another person in so many days. I wonder if he is here for another purpose besides wishing us well.
Millicent pats Jades hand gently and mouths, " Its ok.", with a wistful smile.......she felt bad about leading Jade on but she was not ready to discuss especially after the fright with the gnome lady yesterday.
Jade gives a sympathetic look and places her hand on Millicent's back consolingly. She bows slightly towards Katarina and gestures to the seat next to Eila.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Keeper," she says before seating herself as far from the dignitaries as possible.
Turning to the Kobold she pays an empty seat next to her and says, "It's Zaffee right? I noticed a sword and a bow in your kit. Which one do you favour?"

Jade taps Millicent's foot under the table with the toe of her boot and then jerks her head towards the exit, a question in her raised eyebrows.
Roused out of her deep thoughts by Jades boot she looks up and nods, preparing to follow Jade out....
Jade checks the table and, when it looks like the others are sufficiently occupied to avoid the need for explanation, tries to make a discrete exit.
