With everyone ready for the gala, you make your way back to the museum, either separately or together in a group whatever you choose. As you approach the entrance you see a few other visitors clad in sleek formalwear.
Entering into the Grand Entrance you find it much same as you left it. The receptionist is no longer working, instead replaced by a placard welcoming gala attendees and directing them to the Gemstone Wing on the second floor. Similar placards stand at each door and hallway leading out of the Grand Entrance, ensuring that gala attendees will find their way to the second floor. The only staff remaining in the Grand Entrance at this hour are two guards.
"Together or seperately?" Dubh Diabhal asks Parr Ker. "I suspect most are in pairs or groups but it is possible I could be recognize as having argued with the guard."
Dubh is willing to bow to whatever preference Parr has. If entering seperately they will plan to meet at cafe like earlier. If they enter together he suggests they go slowly and take their time looking at everything but follow the crowd upstairs until they get a sense of the guard layout.
After having come in and sensing what magic is present, Windarë would slowly make her way over to Parr. She whispers in Auran:
"The doors to the east have Abjuration magic. Could be an alarm or ward."
She then slips away and rejoins Luci in walking around. "We should probably head upstairs," she says in a normal tone. Then leaning in she whispers to him, "Abjuration magic on the doors to the east. Plus bottom step of stair, hallways to west, and main doors. Statues transmutation."
"Thank you Ms. Treynori, any way of telling what the alarms would react to?" Luci asks discreetly as they make their way up the stairs to the gala assembly, checking his suit as he confidently and elegantly strides upwards.
Luci and Windarë make their way up the stairs to the Prehistoric Predators Exhibit. Two guards patrol the area with a third guard, a young human male, standing at the now open doors to the Gemstone Wing looking nervous and slightly sweating while collecting gala tickets from the attendees.
The Gemstone Wing's oak doors open into a luxuriously appointed ballroom. Inside you can see crimson tablecloths and fine china adorn dining tables, and chandeliers sparkle overhead. Cabinets with glittering gemstones surround the space. At the wing's center is a marble pedestal bearing a peculiar, light-green stone.
Twenty or so other gala attendees, nobles and long-time museum donors, mill around the event. All are dressed in elaborate finery. Alda Arkin can be seen inside the Gemstone Wing mingling with the other attendees.
"Well well, it seems our most unpleasant curate has managed to successfully bring some class to this dreary place, quite temporary I'm sure." Luci says with an amused smile as he enters the Gem wing, also known as the vault, casually offering his ticket to the ticket collector. He would grab a glass of sparkling when it is served and circle the chamber, smiling charmingly to the ladies while discreetly taking note of the doors and the marble pedestal, trying to determine the security in general.

The Murkmire Stone sits atop the pedestal flanked by informational placards about the stone's discovery and theories about its use—though Dr. Dannell's occult theory is not mentioned.
As he discreetly examines the pedestal, Luci realizes it has an elaborate defence mechanism built in. (Arcana check please to try to figure out more information)
The pedestal, is attached to the floor and can't be moved. You notice tiny glyphs carved into its base and you now also notice similar glyphs on both the doors’ frames. Arcane Lock is a spell that Luci is familiar with, perhaps he even utilized it in his previous line of work. Your best guess is that Arcane Locks will activate on all doors leading to the room if the stone is removed from the pedestal.
Dubh has also made his way upstairs (sorry, I missed that in your last post).
The guards that he passes watch him suspiciously and some of them even begin whispering to each other when they think he’s not looking. Or do they? Perhaps he’s just being paranoid. In any event, none of the guards approach him and he is able to enter the gala without incident.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Parr accompanies Dubh, noting that if he does get picked up he's going to need help extracting himself.
As they move she keeps an eye out for the best route to the curators office and any countermeasures on the way that may have changed since earlier in the day.
Parr does not notice anything different or additional. That is until she enters the Gemstone Wing and immediately sees the telltale signs of a secret door in the south wall, presumably the other side of the one she earlier found in the Archeology Exhibit.
Continuing to look around, she also notices an air vent 10’ off the floor in the west wall, the other side of the one she earlier found in the Prehistoric Predators Exhibit.
Whispering to Dubh, " You know....worse comes to worse I could just slip it off the pedestal, slip through the air vent and leg it out of here..."
" I'd probably need you to sacrifice yourself as a diversion."
" But I'd be quite sad about it. I mean....for a bit."
Parr tries to recall if the others had reported any magic around the 'Stone' itself or on the plinth it sat on.
" Hows about I head into the exhibit on the other side, Long Ago Bitey Things and secret myself away in that air vent? Even if theres magic on the doors I doubt their funds stretched to covering that as well."
"That could be the start of a plan," Dubh replied, a bit skeptical. "Diversions can be made without sacrifices though..."
"I think we need more information. There could be spells upon the stone itself, it may not be a simple matter to grab it and throw it into the vent. But yes, I would think if we could get it in their without being seen, it could be a long ways to solving this thing. You should check with the others, see if they have seen anything. I should wander a bit... I think the gaurds may be watching me and it may be best I do not spend too much time with any one of us."

Parr circled away from him, sampling a canape and passed close by Luci so he could impart anything needed as Windarë already had.
Dubh will look around at whatever else is in this room. Surely the stone is not the only exhibit? Or at the very least there are plaques to read and such? But a good dose of his focus is upon the guards and trying to suss out how much they are watching him in particular.

Windarë detects the following magic:
The main entrance doors have an aura of abjuration
The 2 statues flanking the entrance have an aura of transmutation extending for 5’ around them
The 3 closed doors on the east side all have auras of abjuration
The 3 hallways on the west side all have auras of abjuration
The bottom step of the stairs has an aura of abjuration
Each guard had a faint aura of divination coming from something within their belt pouches

Athletics check to climb into the vent
Stealth check to do it without the guards noticing

( More musing on it currently with Dubh IC, but will keep in mind. Thx.)
