“The egg doesn’t really have any value beyond the potential for scientific research, so from that perspective I would expect the city guard to treat it the same as any other robbery in the city. I suppose it will depend on how much collateral damage is involved,” she says with a worried glance at the museum guard’s uniform.
Joorin nods as Luci lays out the plans for the gala. He then pauses...wait..."Um, Mr. Morningstar? Did you have something for me to do during the Gala? I feel like I should stick with you and Ms. Treynori. If we decide to try to do something during the Gala it will probably be a good idea to have the bag nearby to make the stone disappear quickly, at least until we can get it out of the museum. The magics of the bag shouldn't interact negatively with the stone as far as you know, right doctor?"

Luci too glances down at the museum guard’s uniform and then he shrugs. "The harsh price for lack of common courtesy I would say, these things will happen when you set out to make an omelette, I'm sure this captain of the museum's guard force will be missed by her insolent subordínates but less likely found, at least not tonight." He says with a confident smile before turning to Joorin. "Yes, certainly, also I was hoping you could stay close, keeping your eyes open and bring us good luck in our endeavour, something that has been sorely lacking as of late." Luci says with an amused smile.
(Would anyone like to do anything else before the gala starts? If not I will fast forward to the start of that event.
I will remind everyone of the formal clothing provided in the bag of holding. You are not obligated to wear it of course, but it is there if you need it.)
Dubh would put the guard's uniform into the bag since it seems like we won't be using it and change into the formal wear.
"As I understand it, you want me to enter the gala and then make my way with Parr Ker to the curate's office and poke around there for information?" Dubh asks Luci but otherwise is ready to follow instructions.
"Well yes, the uniform and the point of egress you have obtained for the crew might still be crucial to our plan but for now we would have to focus on how to acquire the egg, whether it is by somehow snatching it during the gala or breaking into that vault afterwards. I expect the curates office to hold information on the security of the vault at least, and just maybe other useful information."Luci answers the tiefling before speaking to the crew again. "I suggest we make another attempt to meet up in the cafés at seven to decide how we proceed with the information we have, having a discussion in one of the less interesting areas if necessary to be alone."
"The entire museum is a vault. The lack of windows, the guards, the magic wards - they want to protect everything," Windarë says. "There's certainly no indication of a separate vault - in the sense of a separate protected room - within the structure. It simply wouldn't fit."
Lucifer is about to answer Dubh as both Windarë and Parr quickly interjects with a plethora of interpretations of what he could possibly mean by using the word vault. "Well thank you for trying to explain to Mr. Dhiabal ladies but I'm sitting right here." He says with an amused smile as the others are finished, then turning to the tiefling. "You are quite right Mr. Dhiabal, there are no actual vault that we know of, but as Ms. Ker suggested I was referring to the gemstone wing, the area in which the egg is currently locked away, apologies about the confusion there. Unless we manage to get our hands on the egg while the egg is on display during the gala we would need a way to break in there, whether it is by using a key, forcing the lock or smashing down a wall. Now that this is sorted out are there any other clarifications needed." Luci says with a calm smile, looking around at the team.
"Yes, well I just did Ms. Ker."Luci says with a small confused smile. "During the gala you and Mr. Dhiabal will visit the Curate's office." He adds before looking around at the crew. "Was there anything else we should plan, sort out or prepare before the gala?" Luci says, and if not he would relax with a glass of wine at the Sage's Quill, expecting his own exquisite clothes to be quite sufficient at the gala, ready to head over there as the grandfather clock nears six.
If no one has any further business before the gala we can say that you all spend some time relaxing at the Sage’s Quill until the grandfather clock shows 5:45pm.
Luci enjoys a glass of wine significantly better than the one he had earlier at the Fuzzy Fly and Dubh finishes his short rest.
When you are ready to proceed to the gala, please post to let me know what you wearing and what weapons and equipment you are carrying (the rest of your gear will be assumed to be in the bag of holding that Joorin is carrying unless you specify otherwise).
“Good luck everyone,” says Dr. Dannell, “I will await you in the alley between the museum and the Sage’s Quill.”
Parr fixed him with a dubious look, " As you wish."
" I'm squared away. Dhiabal?"
"Couldn't get more ready," Dubh replies as he's already changed into the 'fancy' clothes that were in the bag. Dubh has a few darts (4) hidden in the folds of his clothing but those are his only weapons that are not in the Bag of Holding. The spare guard uniform is also in the bag.
"Well, we do need to put on the formal clothing. Or at least I am going to do that," Windarë says. She stands and retrieves the clothes from the bag, curious to see what they might have been provided. She then heads for her room to change. Leaves in plenty of time before, she is back with the others by a quarter to six. Having changed into the new garments, she has also meticulously braided all of her hair. Rather than mostly hanging straight, her hair is pulled up into a tight bun at the back.
"Well, are we all ready to depart? I presume we split up a bit now just to not make it so obvious we're together?"
Just before leaving, she will cast Detect Magic using a ritual so that it is still in effect once she walks in.
"Well well Ms. Treynori, you look quite astonishing tonight, your appearance alone would make attendance to that gala quite worthwhile."Luci says with a charming smile as Windarë rejoins them after her change of attire, swiftly emptying his glass of wine, then getting up to casually straighten and check his jacket, ready to head back to the museum. "Shall we?"
(As mentioned above Luci will wear his own exquisite clothes but let all his gear except his ring stay with the magical bag in carried by Joorin. Did we already get rooms at the Sage's Quill? If possible Luci would get one for later.)
Parr is in formal-wear with her cat-suit underneath and her lockpicks securely stowed in areas she's fairly sure security isn't searching unless this is a much more intimate sort of gathering than expected. She looks very much like a teenager whose being forced to wear a suit and is doing a bad job of hiding how much the dress is annoying her......luckily Aarokocra formal wear tends towards the looser fits anyway.
( Crowbar and the rest of her clobber in the BOH.)
(Ooc: PC not cooperating today which is frustrating because it means no formatting on the post. I know probably not a big deal to anyone else but it annoys me. )
Joorin smiles and nods. "Yep. About that time then."
After collecting everyone else's gear into the bag of holding, he heads to the privie to change himself. Upon retrieving the formal wear from the bag he finds a tuxedo appropriate to his size in a crushed velvet purple so deep it is nearly black. The seams and embroidery are stitched with a silver thread that glistens and shimmers in the light like small rivulets of water. The buttons down the breast and at the end of each cuff are also an antiqued silver.
Joorin let out a low whistle whistle while inspecting the tux. "Well aren't you just gorgeous?"
After shrugging into the shirt and the coat he examine his sleeves to make sure the shirt sleeves were peaking but not standing too far out from the jacket. It was then that he noticed that one of the buttons on his right sleeve had a different emblem on it, like a suit of armor. "What's this then?" Running his finger over the button, he felt a whoosh of arcane energy as the silver threads pulsed brighter for a moment.
[Casting Mage Armor]
"Well, if that's not lucky I don't know what is. Whoever sold Dr Dannell this suit must not have realized that it was a spellcasting focus. Ha!"
Figuratively and literally armored for the evening, Joorin made his way out to his compatriots to head out.
"Shall we?"

"You keep mentioning the vault," Dubh replies to Luci with a bit of a confused tone. "Have you seen one?"
"Is there one?" Dubh asks Dr. Dannell. "Can someone hand me the map again?"
Assuming whoever has it is willing to, Dubh takes the map and flattens it on the table.
"I'm not seeing a vault noted anywhere..."
"The entire museum is a vault. The lack of windows, the guards, the magic wards - they want to protect everything," Windarë says. "There's certainly no indication of a separate vault - in the sense of a separate protected room - within the structure. It simply wouldn't fit."

" I believe Luci is using ' Vault' as slang for the Gemstone Wing. It is the most heavily guarded portion and hand has no easy means of entrance."
" Except perhaps the attic, but clambering about on rooftops in daylight is begging to be shot."
