Adran, the statues giving off the transmutation aura are currently sitting on the middle platform over the lava, so they are currently inaccessible. I forgot to mention as well that your detect magic would also sense an aura of abjuration around the gem over the center platform.
The rest of you feel you understand how this works. The chains hanging from the ceiling are of a reasonable enough size that they could be pulled, and it appears as though their links connect to the central chains that suspend the platforms. There are tracks in the ceiling that suggest the platforms are capable of moving. With their high investigation rolls as well, Silthras and Victorin are able to deduce that the gem over the central platform is a Khyber dragonshard, a magical gem that is typically used for binding magics.
Catching on to how this room is intended to function, Adran walks over to a chain and tries to pull it to see if it can move one of the platforms, and in what way if so.
(Sorry about the statue, got a bit confused by the description)

Vic joins the others on the platform offering to help manipulate or pull any of the chains as well. He points to the crystal “It is a Khyber dragonshard, maybe there is something bound to help move the platforms. If there is, I can’t tell how to activate it yet.”
Adran, with the help of a few others, pull on the chain, though it seemed light enough that one person could do it by themself. The long platform rolls forward until it gently connects with the wide platform in the middle. These chains appear to manipulate the movement of the longer platforms and offers you a way to cross the lava pit below.
"The manner of crossing appears simple enough", Grudnik says, watching as the longer platform connects with that in the middle. He strides forward onto the middle platform, and looks across at each of the statues, before looking for the chain that will allow them to cross to the other side.
He looks back to the others to see if they are joining him before doing anything to move platforms. He also assumes some of the party will be interested in the statues.
"Let us try and be golin, and get to the other side safely"
Adran steps onto the platform after Grudnik, somewhat carefully at first but with more confidence after he is sure that the platform can hold the weight of him and his heavy set of armor. As he is (presumably) moved across by one of the party, he takes the time to fully grasp and appreciate how far down the drop to the lava is. Upon arrival to the middle platform, he begins to gently inspect the statues. "We know those statues will do something, but we don't know exactly what, so best be prepared for the worst. If somebody else would like to step aboard, now's the time, but otherwise I'll see if I can activate one of these. Spells and weapons at the ready."

Erbert moves forward as well. He tells Rufus “Stay, down!” He bids the mastiff to wait on this side, setting out some food for him. He moves forward onto the platform. “I can cast feather fall in case this thing lets go, but that won’t help with the lava below. Be at the ready!” He casts his mage hand to assist as well.

You all make it to the middle platform easily enough. As Adran inspects the statues on the middle platform, the Khyber dragonshard flashes and stone gives way to flesh! The statues come to life, turning into hunched hound-like fiendish creatures with sharp teeth, armor plating, and long tongues. They snap and shriek before engaging all of you in combat!
The fiends immediately leap into action! The first one bites at Adran and swipes their claws at Silthras, the second bites at Grudnik and swipes their claws at Victorin.
F1 Bite vs Adran: Attack: 13 Damage: 8 piercing damage and 7 force damage F1 Claws vs Silthras: 12 Damage: 9 piercing damage and 1 force damage
F2 Bite vs Grudnik: 15 Damage: 10 piercing damage and 11 force damage F2 Claws vs Victorin: 9 Damage: 7 piercing damage and 4 force damage
Grudnik is a little slow to react as the statues transform into fiendish hound-like creatures, and grunts in pain as one manages to sink it's teeth into his leg.
He manoeuvres around the hound to pin it in between himself and Victorin.
'Get off me sar taarka! Back to your calabas", he snaps as he sweeps his glaive around in a whirlwind, slicing at the little hound twice.
Movement: Circles hound on him to flank with Victorin Action: Attack Attack 1 - Glaive against hound (+2 to hit due to flanking) - To Hit: 18+8+2=28, Damage 10+5=15 [magical slashing] Attack 2 hound (+2 to hit due to flanking) 11+8+2= 21 - Damage: 3+5=8 [magical slashing] Special: If either attack hits, uses a d6 superiority dice for menacing attack (When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to frighten the target. You add the superiority die to the attack’s damage roll, and the target must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, it is frightened of you until the end of your next turn.) - Extra Damage - 2 [magical slashing]
(OOC: Apologies, accidentally rolled 3rd attack instead of damage for second in campaign log, please ignore)
If the hound that attacked Grudnik is still alive, Erbert tosses a chromatic orb at it, at 2nd level, doing cold damage. “Begone foul creature!” he says in a high pitched voice.
Chromatic orb : 15 to hit, for 16 points of cold damage.

Vic, already warned about the transmutation magic on the statues, anticipated the attack when they reached the center platform and was able to twist away from the fiend’s strikes. Drawing his shortsword, he strikes back at the creature and follows up with a shot from his hand crossbow into the hound’s face. “Well, that answers the dragonshard question.”
Shortsword Attack against F2 with flanking: 27 Damage: 5 piercing damage.
Hand Crossbow Attack against F2 with flanking: 29 Damage: 16 magical piercing damage.
Silthras curses and moves to flank F1 with Adran. Despite the close range, he hopes that by flanking the creature he will offset some of the disadvantage in making the attack.
As soon as the statues animate into flesh, Adran springs into action. He deflects the maw of the fiend next to him (F1) with his shield, and takes the opportunity to maneuver its back and stab it as it swipes at Silthras.
Now taking the initiative, Adran uses the nearby hound's (F1) confusion from being attacked from two sides, using his blade to probe for a flaw in the beast's armor.
If either attack manages to bypass the fiend's armor, Adran's Watching Blade will light up with energy that crawls up the sword, goes underneath the tough carapace of the fiend, and eventually explodes in radiant light. That's a 1st level Divine Smite, which will do 13 radiant damage.

Ancidus backs up, taking care to stay out of reach of the fiends. A low ringing noise fills the cavern as they cast a spell at the second fiend. (DC 16 WIS, takes 8 necrotic if so far undamaged, if injured takes 12 instead).

As Adran moves forward, Grudnik follows, aiming to help with the chains if needed to expedite the movement of the platform.
Action: help if needed
Silthras stands ready to offer any assistance possible to those working the chains. When doing so he also tries to inspire their efforts. He also summons a spectral hand for those things that might prove to be out of reach.
