"Looks like we have a spitter on our hands, one with terrible acid reflux." Progo takes note that poison will probably work better acid than time, and to save a few vials for collecting purposes after.
"Just as the fellow suggested, the cave be near. Progo say we press on and if we don't have success, we plan to gave time to rest in plan in town to prep (attune rings). Progo would like to see some evidence of the creature near by before going full effort in there. But if we think this is our only lead or hope to have time to investigate before heading back to town for nightfall, then we go right in. What say you?"
"Progo thinks there will be time later for rest when it will be more required or beneficial. But daylight is on our side at the moment so if the group wishes to rest after such a short journey, Progo won't protest." Progo gives a very exaggerated tones when mentioning the duration of the journey. (I'm going to guess a short rest is going to be needed later and 2 short rest will use up most of the day, if we want any chance to find this thing before nightfall, then best keep it to one rest. Personally I think we can press on and get more benifits from a later short rest with healing and replenish some abilities verses only attuning items if we do it now. The rings are good, but not game changers)
"That's a fine idea." Fred says and sets up. You see him squeaking and chattering with the the small creatures about and gathering some roots and mushrooms and leafy things and putting them all into a pot with water which holds in his hand and heats it up (produce flame).
He takes a spoonful and says "Very good. Here, have some." and offers to the group.
(Seems we are at an impasse. Fred and Savitri - who’ve already attuned to their rings - want to rest and Progo and Thalron - who’ve not already attuned to their rings - would push forward. What to do?)

Alright, you make your way through the forest in the direction the farmer indicated. Let me know if you want to do anything along the way.
Eventually you come upon can see the mouth of a cave off in the distance set into the side of a small hill covered with vegetation on both sides.

(What time is it currently? )
Around 9am
Savitri shrugged, " Why not rest here at the mouth of the cave then we can go straight in when the others are ready?"

(When were you able to attune the rings? Its only 9ish so I don't think anyone has had a chance to attune them yet.)
(I just meant that they’re attuned on their character sheets, whereas you and I have them equipped but not attuned.)

( Apologies. I did mine earlier when I thought we were waiting at the town for a bit. Will unattune if we are not resting now.)
(Ya your comment totally went over my head! Good catch)
(So shall we enter of rest? Progo votes enter.)
Here is the entrance to the cave.
