(Progo isn't proficient with either shield or scimitar, but will take a second potion if no one wants to hold them, i'm also in the process of spending Progo's gold on his "wares" to put in his bag)
( Ok. Does anyone want a shield and/or scimitar? Dropped my AC a little to take the Greatsword but its still decent.)
I don’t want you to think I’m bullying you into playing a way you don’t want to. If you’d prefer the higher AC, I wouldn’t blame you. It was just that your + to hit is higher than Thalron’s. It would be sad to see Thalron missing when you could be dropping the bad guys faster if you were swinging that black-bladed beauty.
"Unless there are any objection, Progo wishes to see the vanishing site of the latest encounter with the beast. Would it be possible to have one of the guards that claimed the beast disappeared accompan Progo the exact location they saw this and can fill in the details along the journey?"

Let me know what you want to do next. To recap, you have a couple spots pointed out to you on a map that the creature has been. You are currently in a lords keep overlooking a moderate sized village that is now sparsely populated of which has a road leading South out of it into the forest. Let me know if I need to clarify anything or if you have any questions.

Was hoping to get some confirmation the other 2 were still with us...
Progo - half-orc Rogue (multiple self-references to his name)
Human Paladin (no IC introduction)
Gnome Druid (no IC introduction)
Thalron - dwarven Barbarian (IC introduction)
I pm’d Backstabitha about their half-orc Cleric but have not received a response.
So at this point I think it’s just the 4 of us.
We’ll want to attune to these rings ASAP.
Thalron could switch to scimitar and shield (Savitri’s). He could benefit from the +2 to AC, but it does mess with his image of swinging a great axe. With only a +3 to hit, he’s likely to miss with either a scimitar or great axe, so maybe switching to sword and board would be the smart play. Let him dive in recklessly and be a damage sponge, mostly missing with his swings but giving Progo sneak attacks and someone else to attack rather than Fred or Savitri.
(For some reason I was thinking there were 2 others, no matter. I say we throw the blade a bag and you guys can choose as time goes on if one of you wants to pull it out. Keeping the blade safe is also reasonable for the moment.)
Feeling the request was ill timed he decides to let it go and focus on the others as he turns to leave. "Progo feels we should go to the last sighting but it seems the orchard is on the way and might be worth our time to stop there to see what we can, let us go and make plans as we travel."
He motions to one of his servants who brings over a map “I will give you any and all information I can to help you.”
The map shows his keep and town located at the north end, his hold on a slight elevation with its back to small mountains and wilderness. The rest of the town descending to the south with the road continuing to the south and cutting through the forest valley. He indicates to an apple orchard just outside the gates, “here is where it attacked the last time. The lady of the orchard reported that all its apples are now gone, eaten by the monster.” He places his finger on a clearing further out southward, “here is the shepherd’s field where it began harassing my people. Devouring a few sheep at at time now all of their livestock are gone and the shepherds barely fled with their lives.” Finally, he shows you further down the road, “this is where my men and myself chased it off to. My men then tracked it a few hundred metres into the forest, west of the road, but they lost it there. Some of them reported that they lost sight of it, some say it vanished into thin air. They are weary and they may be delusional from their exhaustion and loss of their comrades. We simply know it attacks at night and is gone before dawn.”
“Let us find this lady of the orchard, if she yet lives, and then try to track this monster to its lair. If there are tracks to be found, this will be where they are most recent.”
You make your way through the town and head out the city gates. Just outside the gates you come upon the outer perimeter of the orchard. You see that every tree has been denuded. There is evidence of a large creature having ravaged the area. Down into the center of orchard is a small farm house. There is an old woman rocking in a chair on the porch and a young man tending to chores on the outside and you can tell he’s in the process of cleaning up the aftermath of the destruction.
Progo is going to inspect the trees as walk up to house (how high up does the damage/missing apples go? Is there any damage to the main tree trucks to indicate what the creature used like teeth or claws or something Sharpe like an axe or blunt like a hammer? Where the apples picked, ripp3d, or bitten off the branches? Any narrower sectionsthat might show damge to indicatewidth of the creature) He is trying to determine the size, strength and potential weapons the creature could use.

Thalron looks at the devastation and studies the ground, looking for large footprints or drag marks indicating a large tail dragging. Ultimately he’s looking for markings indicating the coming and going of the creature.

(We must be at the wrong orchard, nothing seems out of place here!)
Savitri hailed the woman with a warm smile, " I hear you've had a bit of a problem with pests in your orchard. We're the exterminators."
" Just need some info so we can find the nest and stomp it."
As you make yourselves known, the younger one stops and gestures to the group wildly,
“…Ah! you see! I bet that’s why these strangers are here! Surely our lord has hired this band to hunt that thing down!”
The older one just crosses her arms. “Bah!” she scoffs with a furrowed brow.
“Please excuse my mother’s manners. Her days of work are long behind her and she doesn’t know what dangers lie out here…” he side-eyes the old woman and says a bit too loudly “IN THE REAL WORLD!” He looks back to you all, “how may we be of service?”

Perhaps one of the other 2 might want to use it?

I think our party consists of

Very well:

Fred Riverroad, a short round Gnome Druid, introduces himself and says "Nice to meet you all."

Yeah, sorry. You can’t glean any more info than I gave earlier.
As you are approaching you can hear the two bickering back and forth, but you can’t make out what they are saying.
As you make yourselves known, the younger one stops and gestures to the group wildly,
“…Ah! you see! I bet that’s why these strangers are here! Surely our lord has hired this band to hunt that thing down!”
