Progo eyes get a little bigger seeing the difference in the swords behavior. "Are you getting nervous or is that sword shaking like a leaf? Progo say we hunt! Then we plan an ambush once we find it. But that sword might give us a away, or maybe it's trying to tell us something, either way I don't trust it." Progo turns away from the group to look around, and slowly pulls out his rapier to see if it does the same thing (crossbow out before)

I’ll give you the advantage.
You notice that the strange black metal that it is made of looks like the ore that that is in the earth of this strange plane. You feel that it sings with strength due to its proximity to this plane.
"Looks like we've been found," Mara sighs, "But it is more than 30 feet away, so we have some time to prepare."
While her voice is grave and without emotion, the party would notice that she had moved so that Thalron was in between her and the source of the gurgling sound.
Placing one hand in her pocket to quiet the magic mouth casted on her ring, Mara started to dance with her folding fan on her other hand. Doing a fan dance seem to be how she liked to think, because she began to think out loud of a plan in soft whispers.
"If we separated...the creature's many heads might pick us off one by one. So if we charged in as a group...ahh, the acid. We could climb the trees to avoid the acid...no, I wouldn't trust these accursed looking trees. So our best course would be to...vanish."
Making a sweep with her fan that arced up and ended in a bowing gesture with one knee to the ground, Mara's spell generates a fog that feels like nothing: there is no moisture, nor change in temperature. It passes through the party, and when it touches them, it becomes obvious that it's an illusion. But to anyone looking in, it creates heavy obscurement (unless touched or if an action is used to roll an investigation check against Mara's spell DC).
After everyone is hidden, the fog briefly moves back to reveal Thalron examining his noisemaking sword to the rest of the world. 😄
Progo sighs a bit at the rapier acting as it should, and puts its away as the wanted to try to keep some distance between the beast and himself. "Any tricks from you in this one Fred?"

(So those of us on the inside can see out and can target with ranged weapons with advantage. Anyone outside sees a 15’ x 15’ fog bank unless it succeeds its Investigation check. Its ranged attacks would be disadvantaged and/or impossible if sight is required to target. Out of the fog, we unleash a barrage of ranged pain. When it/they approach we switch to melee, cause as soon as it/they touch it, the gig is up.)
”Stay close and in the illusion for as long as possible. Unleash hells on anything threatening that approaches.”Thalron whispers to his companions.
**You hear a rustling in the brush further away and the opposite direction you heard the twig. But it’s hard to pinpoint where it’s coming from. But it doesn’t seem like the noises are particularly getting closer to you. They are just around in the distance**
Visibility is about 25 feet due to the humidity and dark. Are you all just staying in one place? Does anyone want to look at the surroundings of venture further into the wilderness?
"Can this cloud move? Progo like coverage and likes to move about, best if can have both!"
Thalron nods and silently adds, “Or maybe Fred could scout as a tiny, but very fast creature that could retreat here faster than he could be caught, leading the threat back to our hunting blind.”
Since the freaky sounds weren't getting any closer, Mara sends the butterfly (with bat stats) straight up 40 feet then to start flying forward towards it, avoiding any trees in the way and using its 60 ft blindsight to see in the dense fog, moving forward when someone moves forward.
"Can this cloud move? Progo like coverage and likes to move about, best if can have both!"
"The crow has flown away:
Swaying in the evening sun,
A leafless tree"
With a flick of her fan and a simple haiku, the fog illusion slowly rolled forward, reshaping it to not touch any obstacles in a way that seemed natural.

How big is the fog? Cubic feet wise.

You hear a twig snap in the distance. The sound is muffled by the humidity and dead woods.
((the illusion can be as big as 15 ft x 15 ft x 15 ft if nothing is in the way))
Mara narrows her eyes at Progo and gestures to the illusion of fog she created.
"Why don't you stay in here and try not to make any noise?" she whispered, more concerned than she was annoyed at all the discussion they were having.
