“Never mind how you got here. This is a hostile place especially for someone like you” she says tilting her head to one side. “What are you doing here?” She hooks her thumb over her shoulder, “… and you can tell your Dwarf friend behind me that I am no threat to you and he can stop skulking.”
Progo will continue to hide as the conversation continues, not sure how to interpret the comment. Pretty specific claim to be just guessing about his location, but he's not taking the bait.
"I mean you no disrespect ma'am. I am but a simple Druid. My name is Fred Riverroad and we have taken the request of a local town that has been viciously attacked each night by a multi-headed creature they believe is a Thessalhydra. It has been attacking on the outskirts and devouring crops and livestock and the fear is that people are soon to follow. Can you help us?"
“Ah, yes. I know of this beast you speak of. This thing you call thessalhydra uses this realm as a way to return to its lair without being tracked. The lair is a cave where the Material Plane and this plane touch. A special plant grows there —a plant whose flowers bloom in both worlds.
These flowers can be used to cross between worlds if you perform a certain ritual. A key component of this ritual is blood from a monstrosity. The thessalhydra is itself a monstrosity, so it can use its own blood to open a gateway. If you wish to track this beast, this is your best path”
As Fred introduced himself, Thalron would notice something interesting in the illusion: Mara started eating the mist.
Those outside of the illusory mist would notice it envelope the bowing figure, only to become devoured by it revealing herself and replacing the bowing figure...although he was left inside if he wanted to.
"Ahh...never let a good spell go to waste~" her voice drifted away in bliss. It seems that she picked up a few weird habits while living by herself in the endless maze.

"You seem awfully eager to encourage a group of strangers to slay a creature of this realm. *munch* *munch* ...mmm. Yup, this version creature that you seem to know an awful lot about."
Although she looked completely consumed in her endeavor, she was actually paying close attention.

“I have no love for the creatures of this place. I merely am telling you these things for my benefit: the faster I can get you out of here the faster you will be out of my way.”
“Getting out of here is exactly what we’re looking to do. After we slay this hydra thing, that is. So what brings you to this perfectly miserable place? Oooo, I’m sorry, is this your home?”
Thalron tries to eye her sword before revealing Sir Tristan’s to see if it appears to be made of the same metal.

She holds her sword at the ready position as she sees you withdraw your sword. “I would advise you not to do anything stupid. I do not suffer fools gladly.”
((Somebody check out if this woman's sword looks/sings like Sir Tristan's or ask where to find this plant because both are out of Mara's field of magic))

Thalron furrows his brows in the illusory mist.
Is she referring to Progo, the half-orc? He thinks to himself.

Fred steps out into the open and says

((Guys, I totally meant half-orc. I’ve been thinking this whole time he’s a dwarf. I meant it to be extremely specific))

She seems honest and genuinely giving you good information.
“I have no love for the creatures of this place. I merely am telling you these things for my benefit: the faster I can get you out of here the faster you will be out of my way.”
Mara formally curtseys, satisfied with her answer.
"Do forgive me, we had to face numerous kobolds and a particularly ruthless man in armor with a maze to get to this point."
((Out of character suggestions, feel free not to listen:
Fred, maybe you can talk to the girl about this plant, and roll a nature or survival?
Progo, since we know this thing bleeds itself to escape, maybe you can use your poisoner's kit prof to cook up something to toss in its open wound?
Thalron, maybe you can get this lady to let her guard down if you show her your cool sword.))

Fred hears a whisper in ear and decides to ask the lady if she knows anything this plant.

She looks at you sternly, “My business here is my business.”
She holds her sword at the ready position as she sees you withdraw your sword. “I would advise you not to do anything stupid. I do not suffer fools gladly.”
As she stands at the ready, she responds to you, “I don’t know anything more about the flowers themselves other than where you can find them.”
