Reya is surprised as Archie jumps off her horse and joins the warrior on hers. Reya continues to hold the leads of the seventh horse, who knows, they may run into Wilfred again soon.
Corlith heads into his family home and finds it quiet as he expected. He leaves a small coin purse for them and writes a note saying he will be gone for a few more days. He looks around the empty house once more and then locks up behind him.
The party continues on to Little Calimsham for Falaster Fisk. He takes the lead as they enter the small village, leading the rest of you to his small home. As he dismounts, he looks to the party, "I'm going to go inside, say hello to the missus and grab a book. I would like to also arm myself with a dagger should I find myself in trouble again. I am sure you can all appreciate that. But I wanted to bring it up and show you that I am not trying to hide anything."
Looking around Little Calimsham is definitely a bedroom village, not much going on other than several farms and such. Most are well worn and falling apart a bit, but there is care here as well and you see several people working the fields.
Fisk returns from his home with a new small bag over his shoulder and an old book in his hands. There is a gleam from a dagger against his hip as well. Holding up the small book he exclaims, "Now this here is an old book of Calishite recipes. I'm positive they have nothing like this in ol Candlekeep." Smiling to himself for a job well done, he stuffs it in his backpack and mounts back onto his horse.
The group continues their way to Candlekeep and in order to do that, they must get through Wyrm's Crossing. As you arrive, you see two great bridges meet at a tall, rocky island that rises from the middle of the Chionthar River. Buildings and merchant stalls line the sides of both bridges, making it impossible to see the river from the narrow, congested roadway that cuts between those structures. From your perch upon horseback you see several pickpockets at work amongst the frey. Wooden drawbridges connect the two bridges to a Keep situated atop the island. The flags of Baldur’s Gate and the Flaming Fist wave proudly above this fortress.
Reya looks to the group, "Anyone want to stop and check out the merchant stalls or forge ahead?"
Reed is happy to keep moving. But if they get closer to any of the pickpockets, he'll offer helpful suggestions on how they can not be so noticeable.
"I get the appeal of working in teams, with one person distracting the mark, but that attracts attention from everyone else around," Reed will say. "Quiet mouth, quiet fingers. That's the trick."
He looks around for a quick second and then frowns.
"Get off the pony," Reed says then listens for a moment. "You're a spirit. You're not tired. Just float along like the others."
Archie keeps an eye out leaning from side to side and peering over Reya's shoulder, "Actually I wouldn't mind, if we're not in a massive rush or anything, can anyone see any enchanters, magic item stalls or tinkerer stands?? I'd had an idea!"
Roo looks around, somewhat perplexed by all the 'excitement around them as they start across the bridge.
"I'm not sure I understand what the cluck is going on?" He says, watching all this haggling and trading, all the people calling for folks to buy their various wares. "What's all this excitement about? What..."
He doesn't finish the sentence. Roo simply jumps up a little straighter on the ass-end of his horse, getting the attention of Glory of Morning as he does so. His feathers ruffle and stick straight out in all directions, then he swings up onto the back of his possum and they leap off of the horse. People shout and exclaim as Roo storms through the throngs, and then the possum jumps up onto a table at one stall...
...where there is a cage with five chickens in it...
"Who is the monster who is responsible for this!?" He shouts, drawing the Owl's Talon. For their part, the chickens, all hens, look very confused. Roo looks around, paying little mind to anyone's staring, before raising his sword and striking the latch of the cage. "My fair damsels! You are free! Come with me if you want to live!"
Virro smiles, watching and listening to Roo, and his daring evacuation of poultry kind. He sits on his horse and turns to Corlith, “I’m with you, I don’t need anything down there. I’m fine just to sit up here and watch…”. He sits in the saddle and takes in the show, smirking and laughing to a joke all his own.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Archie spots what she is looking for and jumps down with a clatter, which startles and moves some of the crowd around the horse's. She happily approaches a stall that looks like it is filled with junk and little metal oddities. "I won't be a moment guys!"
Reya smiles at Corlith, "Good, me too. The sooner we get to figuring out what is going on, the sooner we can save Elturel."
Fisk looks over at Reed a bit concerned, "Excuse me, but who may I ask are you talking to? You are the only one on your pony."
Reya's smile falters as Archie sees a stand to visit and jumps off their horse. "Don't be too long! And watch your bags!"
The orc behind the stall turns towards Roo as he starts asking about what monster is responsible, "What do you mean.."is all he gets out before Roo breaks open the cage at his stall. "What is the meaning of this!!" He yells, his anger directed at the Gallus, "Who do you think you are?! What do you mean, free? They are here to be sold, not freed!" Three of the birds start finding their way out of the cage, while the other two are too confused to leave the cage. The man closes the door on those chickens and grabs a sack from behind the table to start catching the ones that are now dancing everywhere, making a mess amongst his stall and the two next to him, a stall with baked goods and a stall with armor. The lady with the baked goods, starts grabbing up some of her delicacies that she has laying out, not wanting them pecked apart. "Shoo, shoo!" She says, waving her arms at the hens.
The halfling behind the tinker stall doesn't even see Archie approach as her attention is completely drawn in to the mayhem happening over with the orc and chickens.
Corlith sits astride the black gelding stoically watching the carnage being brought by Roo's freeing of the chickens as Archie wanders off and Fisk engages Reed about his habit of speaking to thin air. His attention is briefly drawn by Virro, who is chuckling away at what is going on, or some joke all his own.
He nudges the flanks of his horse, setting it back to walking as he attempts to leave the chaotic scene behind.
Reed looks at Frisk and smiles. “Well, yeah. I am now.”
He then guides his pony over to where Roo is liberating chickens.
Reed tosses a few silver to the orc.
”Let him be. These are his birds now.” Reed says to the orc. He’s counting on the orc being happy to sell them and counting on Roo seeming to not have a clue what coins are to not figure out that they’ve bought the chickens and not truly rescued them.
Roo continues to hop around, slashing the bag with the Owl's Talon while ruffling the feathers on his neck in an attempt to look bigger. He doesn't notice Reed setting down the money.
"That's right!" Roo shouted, agreeing with Reed with no context of what had happened. "These Gallus are free! Run free, my friends! Be free!"
He then hopped over to the cage where the beautiful rooster was, and busted it open with another swing of his sword.
For the record, there are actual rolls being made for this...lol
The orc gratefully takes the silver and is about to let bygones be bygones, actually helping the hens away from his stall and the others so they don't make a huge mess. But then Roo lets out the rooster he had stashed behind his stall, his prized possession for poultry and he glares down at Reed, "Now we're talking gold for that one."
Fisk follows Corlith while Reya stays with Virro, hoping the current chaos doesn't escalade.
As Archie looks at the tinkerer's stall, she finds plenty to peruse and the lady behind the table finally pulls her eyes away from the chicken fiasco to chat. "Anything find your fancy?"
Roo clucks and bocks and moves around as the chickens come out of their cages and sally forth into the sweet air of freedom. Two though, one hen and a rooster, stay behind, and seem to be paying attention to his strange sounds before all three of them jump back up onto the back of the horse.
"Ah, now we may proceed! A victory for all Gallus kind has been won here today!"
"Ah! I'm looking for anything that will make my own tinkering easier, oh and also do you have anything that could be used as a power source? Or some kind of spark of protection, hmmm, might need to see a cleric for that, ooh ooh! Do you have a bag of holding on hand? And how are you on ingots and scrap, I'll need a crucible and some basic cogs too!" Archie begins waffling on at the tinkerer showing her bits of the armour as she explains how she helped make the automatic processes and systems within
Corlith continues on at a steady walk as Fisk rides up beside him.
"How long is the journey to Candlekeep?", he asks idly, his attention on the immediate vicinity with the chaos now left behind. He has one hand on the reins and the other on his coin pouch. "What exactly is your job there again?", he adds after Fisk replies.
Reed eyes the orc for a moment, deciding whether to haggle over the price of the rooster or not, but then decides that might be enough to let Roo figure out what's going on. In the end he flips a gold coin to the orc.
"I trust that ends this," Reed says with a smile.
He wheels his pony around and trots off after Roo and the others.
Reya smiles at Roo and his jubilant cry as he releases those of his kind. She also notices what Reed is doing and is a bit surprised by his actions. This group of misfits may act all badass, but they definitely do have heart and it bolsters her resolve that they will help her get Elturel out of Avernus. She nods to herself as if making a deal to not let them out of it.
The orc takes Reed's coin but doesn't exactly seem happy about it. He does however seem happy that you all are leaving.
"The journey? Ah, it's about 5 days to get there." He looks at you surprised by Corlith's second question, "Why I work for the great Sylvira Savikas of course."
You all make it off the bridges as you continue your way to Candlekeep.

While Reed holds Corlith’s reins he ponders what they’re doing.
It’s a marvellous adventure but maybe he should go back to the village to make sure everyone’s okay.
“We’ll just see what Candlekeep brings and decide then, mum.” Reed says to himself out loud.
Reya is surprised as Archie jumps off her horse and joins the warrior on hers. Reya continues to hold the leads of the seventh horse, who knows, they may run into Wilfred again soon.

Corlith also dismounts and catches Fisk’s gaze, trying to get a read on him.
Assuming he finds nothing suspicious in his demeanour, he will not argue about the dagger nor insist he is accompanied when he goes inside.
