The shard shatters in the background as Reed pops his head out just in time to see Corlith head up to one of the pillars to ask Reya about the heros of Elturel.
As these events occur concurrently, the columns that were apparently hollow, disperse their hidden entities. Four shadows and four specters appear next to their columns and attack!
Seeing nothing react to the noise trap that IronMaiden sprung inside, their voice carries out as they shout from within "it appears safe here, maybe we can rest here before moving on" apparently unaware of the shadows and specters the others are seeing, "everybody in!"
The shadows and specters descend upon the group noiselessly as they float through the air. Lulu, Reya and Virro are able to dodge the attacks of the misty creatures, but Reed is surrounded by Shadow C, delivering 10 necrotic damage, and reducing his strength by 2.
Corlith is surrounded. The shadow misses him, but both specters are able to drain some of his life. Specter B gives him 8 necrotic damage and C gives him 4 damage. But he needs to make a CON save of 10 or his max hit points are reduced by the same amount. (2 saves please.)
Virro turns and looks upon the ghostly creatures and a frown crosses his face. His right hand flexes and grips, he holds it up high, presenting the back of his hand to all of the new undead arrivals, saying “Back you ghostly spirits, back to your homes, to the nether, away with you! I have no use for you, you are worthless and a waste of our time! Get back from us, now!” He Turns the Undead as his action.
Each undead that can see or hear you within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw. (Wisdom save, DC 15) If the creature fails its saving throw, it is turned for 1 minute or until it takes any damage.
A turned creature must spend its turns trying to move as far away from you as it can, and it can’t willingly move to a space within 30 feet of you. It also can’t take reactions. For its action, it can use only the Dash action or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If there’s nowhere to move, the creature can use the Dodge action.
After he finishes, he says to the others, “If they flee, let them go, focus on the ones who stay…”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Oh man, that's so cold," Reed says, shivering as he feels his strength fall.
Too close to draw his bow, Reed quickly whips out his short sword. With Corlith right next to the shadow, Reed hopes he's able to take advantage of any distraction possible to increase the damage he can cause to this wispy creature.
After he slashes at the creature, he jumps back and tries to slip back into the chapel to let Archie/Iron Maiden know what's going on.
Action - Short sword - (2+8) = 10 to hit for (8+14) = 22 slashing
Cunning Action - Disengage and heads back into the chapel.
Poking their head out to see what the fuss is, and the oddly girly scream that apparently escaped corlith, IronMaiden sees the, carnage and generally disapproves, they drop their invisibility by casting a spell, shining a light out of the front of their visor toward corlith, each shadow and specters surrounding him are all bathed in the same strange light.
Casting Faerie Fire upon all shadows D,C&B as well as specters B&C including corlith himself unfortunately. Make a DC16 dex save, or all attacks incoming are at advantage and they cannot benefit from invisibility.
Corlith lets out a high pitched screech as the spectres and shadows suddenly appear out of the columns, and a louder grunt as they attack him, hurting him and sapping his life force. As the first hits him, it becomes wreathed in hellish flames though.
He is too distracted by all that is going on to avoid being lit up by Ironmaiden, what with Virro turning or destroying a lot of their foes as quickly as they had appeared.
With everything going slightly wrong, his temper flares, and he reaches for both his inner power to manipulate magic and to the magic of his bracers. He brings down radiant flames upon both the spectres around him, twice!.
"Get the heck off me you shadowy freaks!"

Seeing Corlith surrounded and hearing his screech, Lulu runs around the shadow by her and let's her trumpet fly. Sparkles come flying out of her trunk as she trumpets and all the evil creatures in her cone are affected. DC 14 CON save or 18 radiant damage.
"that was... Eventful, but not entirely unexpected, we should be wary of structures from here on out" IronMaiden states in their runny voice, stepping aside to let others into the chapel.
As the group enters the chapel, there is a round wall straight ahead of you with curtained archways on the left and right. To your left, the once-beautiful main area of the chapel is littered with broken furnishings and splintered chairs. The stained-glass windows have all been smashed, though one remains mostly intact where it’s fallen whole to the floor. It depicts a representation of the god Torm placing a golden helm on the head of a man kneeling before him.
To your right, the smashed remnants of fine furniture and the remains of stained-glass windows are strewn across this area. Sections of one huge stained-glass window also remains intact, enough so that its subject can still be made out. The window once portrayed Lathander standing amid fallen soldiers, holding his hands aloft as the spirits of the dead rise to stand at his side.
Reed looks around for anything that could hide more shadow ghosty creatures while at the same time slipping forward to take a look through one of the archways to see if there's any danger in the circular center of the chapel.

"so this is the chapel..." The IronMaiden states in a hushed tone as a way of awkward introduction for the others.
Then they begin walking around the place, glass cracking under their heavy feet and eventually get to the depiction of torn, "do you know what the story is behind this?" They ask Reya specifically.
“Open it up….. “. Virro says to himself as he walks in behind the IronMaiden, “and where are all the people…..” he looks around, taking in the smashed furniture, looking and listening for any sounds of movement, undead, or alive.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Corlith replies to Reya in a deeper than usual tone, possibly over compensating, "Yes, fine. Just a little taken aback, and feeling a bit weak in truth". He does indeed seem to stoop a little which he didn't before.
He follows them into the chapel, and notices the lack of Duke or anyone else. He wanders over and sees the sprits of the dead depicted raising to stand with Lathander.
"Not all spirits are hostile it seems, according to this. Our experience of course tells us differently", he says, thinking back to his days of study for anything usuafell that he might recall.
"if you all do not mind, I would like to take ten minutes to calibrate my visual sensors to detect magical effects and residual power, it will wear off quickly but may be useful to figure out what happened here or where this duke may be hiding going forward.."
If people agree IronMaiden will stand stock still, tools in one hand plugged into a panel in their arm as gears and machinery whirs within their head behind the blue glowing visor.
Corlith waves his agreement to Ironmaiden as he mutters, "Sure, sure". His focus is on the depiction of Lathander.
"You know, I think there might be some benefit to praying to this depiction of Lathander. We saw the power of the bridge, and the statue had power too. I think if you were to pray, you might be blessed as the soldiers in the image are", he says, looking back particularly to Reya. "I would guess it would help any hand to hand combat. Not so much your archery though, Reed".
Reed steps back out quietly from where he was investigating the curtained off area.
He raises a finger to his lips.
"Not sure if they have ears or not, but let's keep it down," Reed says quietly. He gestures back over his shoulder. "There's a pair of big insect guys guarding a staircase in there."
After the necessary time IronMaiden observes the room, nothing catches their eye other than the depiction corlith is looking intently at and commenting upon, "conjuration magic. Activating whatever arcane remnants lie there may summon something... Good or bad, be on guard"
Reya nods solemnly to Corlith, worry still etched on her face about him and starts walking towards the stained glass depicting Lathandar. Hearing Reed talk, her eyes go a bit wide, she was obviously thinking they were ok for a bit. She draws her sword but continues towards the glass. At IronMaiden's words, she nods and then kneels before the glass.
"O Radiant Morninglord,
Guide my hand and heart in battle, Grant me courage to face the darkness, And wisdom to know the light.
Bless my blade with your dawn's grace, That I may fight for justice and truth.
In your light, I find strength. In your warmth, I find purpose.
May my deeds honor your name. With each dawn, may I rise renewed."
As Reya opens her eyes and is about to rise, a glowing longsword appears before her. She hesitantly reaches out and takes it and then feels the balance of the +2 weapon and breaks into a huge grin. "This... this is beautiful!" rising to her feet, she looks at Reed and then the others. "You ready?"
