Reed hums quietly to himself as he moves down the hallway. Then he stops and looks at the wall on the north side of the tunnel. He looks at it from a slightly different angle then looks at the air near the wall and nods.
"Yep, looks like a secret door to me too," Reed says.
He does a quick check for traps then tries to open the door if he doesn't find anything.
IronMaiden nods to Reya, a job well done and then turns to Corlith reacting to his question. The armour tightens, it's joints becoming closer and tighter reducing the clanking "is this more appropriate? I should also offer services for mending anything that requires attention before we continue, you will be fighting further yes?"
Reed opens the secret door while the rest of the party are hunkered down in the tunnel behind him after he does not seem to find any traps. The door opens to a ten-foot-high vaulted chamber that has a plaster ceiling painted with images of terrifying winged devils looking down on a symbol embedded in the room’s floor.
Four wrought-iron candlesticks bristling with unlit, half-melted red candles surround the symbol. But other than that, the room is empty.
Reed takes one look at the room and shakes his head.
"I do not like the looks of that," Reed says, pointing out the symbol on the floor, and the candles and the winged devils. "Though the little devil paintings are quite nice once you get past the terrifying bits."
He looks around, bobs his head from side to side, and then steps into the room to give it a good look.
Roo spends a few moments looking at Archie with what is almost despair for the little Gallus and his lack of facial expressions, then takes a breath and moves on, following behind Corlith and Reed in case bad things kick off...which seems to have been a trend for their group.
When Reed declares he doesn't like the look of the room, Roo tires to sense out any hidden dangers in there...
Divine Sense: The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier. When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses.
"It's a divination circle or something." Roo says quietly as he scans the room. "The circle specifically. They're using it for...something. Buck. Not sure what. Be careful."
IronMaiden takes the dragon sword and attempts to attach the pieces to one another using sone magical artificing influence and the scraps that their small yuan-ti friend was made from, the attempt fails and as the group move on IronMaiden packs the things up and follows suit.
"Divination, the art of using arcane ability to improve ones detection, senses, identification, insight, divine favour, future predictions, and even telepathic endeavours... Circles generally used for communication purposes over long distances or inter planes... Is this correct?"
"I am not really certain", Corlith replies to Ironmaiden. "If I was betting man, I'd probably assume it was used for spying on folk or communing with that Zariel. That would just be a guess though".
"Should we deface the circle? Might that render it inactive?".
"disrupting arcane circles can be dangerous, and could alert those on the other side of any communication. It must be observed and have weak points exploited first, should I undertake this task?" IronMaiden asks but seems to already be looking thoroughly over the circle without crossing its boundaries.
As the group tiptoes into the room they get a closer look at the symbol on the floor.
It is a circular disk of black stone inscribed with a nine-pointed gold star. And as they look up at the painted ceiling, the devils appear to be looking down upon them.
Reya stares at the ceiling for a bit, "Quite nice?"she replies to Reed and then shakes her head, "I'm not seeing it." She then turns her attention to the circle, "Well, I don't know anything about magic, but if we get rid of everyone down here, doesn't that render it useless? No one will no it's here."
“Yeah, where is Slobberchops? Must’ve slipped away somewhere.” Virro checks out the circle and the paintings on the ceiling. “Whoa.” He keeps on guard, ready with his shield that seems to have a menacing face on the front of it. Every now and again he pauses, seeming to be thinking, or having an inner conversation.
Virro bends down and looks at the circle trying to sort out what it means, or what cautions should be observed with destroying it. Religion : 11
Then he ritually casts detect magic and begins to look around the room.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Corlith follows Reed to the east, keeping an eye out for anything familiar.
"Thurstwell was right, this place is a maze. I am starting to think we should have been marking off places we have been. Maybe next time we are in a place like this we should do that", he whispers to Reed.
The IronMaiden's eyes begin to also glow agte a short while, and they begin to pick out aspects of the circle muttering something under their breath as they make calculations.
Roo wheels away from the door to make sure nothing is sneaking up behind them while the others work on figuring out the circle. He shudders when Reed mentions burning the building to the ground, and his feathers fluff up.
"As opposed as I am to fire, I think a cleansing flame could do this whole business some good." He says, looking up and down the corridor. He ruffles out his feathers as he's looking. "Let us not forget though that there were guards upstairs. I'm not sure how many may be waiting to greet us when we come out of the burning building."
The IronMaiden takes out Archie's light hammer and begins carefully yet unceremoniously hacking at specific golden rings that surround the arcane circle, "It was a divination circle, specifically altered to commune with demons, it is a good that it is now unusable... we should leave"
Virro nods and says, “I think we should burn this whole house to the ground and get out of here. How do you want to do it? Is there anything else we need to see here?”

Reed would have left the broken dragon dagger near Archie/Iron Maiden.

As Reed steps into the room to check it out, he offers him additional fortitude, just in case.

Reed then slips out of this room and heads back east along the main passage looking for anymore doorways, secret or regular.

Reed continues down to the end of the hallway, turning the corner that heads south to explore the last bit of the dungeon they haven't been to yet.
