"This Village, well in a manner of speaking it is a stage that we use to perform. The real Emherst is actually below ground, everyone you've met here is actually a student of the Emherst School of Living Theater." The resident says with a faint trace of a smile. Then he takes a breath before holding out his hand to her. "My name is Valentin and much like you I was not originally from here. I don't remember where my true home is but I've been living and acting with the others here for so long that I seem to have become just another actor for their play.
{With a 14 Tanyi feels as though he is telling the truth.}
As Grégoire scans the treeline he doesn't see any trace of the rumored werewolves except for several sets of tracks that look to be quite recent. The tracks head into the Misty Forest but one of the sets stands out amongst the others. The tracks on the right side appear to have a slight drag to them and some blood almost as if that particular beast had been wounded during the chaos that they had caused. As he gets closer to the treeline he notices that one of the trees has blood across it, almost as if the injured wolf had stopped and rested up against the tree.
Xander shakes his head and says "It's not your fault you didn't know though I will take your offer on hiring you if you say your good as you say you are, I'm a little tight on coin though, I'm new to these parts myself."
"Well, its fair to skip the pay seeing that I'm new to these parts. A little pro-bono work for reputation in these lands might be in order. I make no promises, being far from home with accesses to my normal contacts and resources, but I won't waste your time either. If I feel I can't help I'll be honest about it. It's late to start now though. best to relax, get some rest, and if you're up for it we can do a bit of information gathering in the morning. For now, let us relax. Tell me, how'd you get the goggles to peer through fog? Is it similar to a telescope in design or is it some kind of magically enchanted lens?"She looks to the barkeep still waiting for food and drinks. She won't complain but she's still waiting as she converses with Xander.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wary of an ambush, Grégoire quitely draws his pitch-black blade, small wisps of shadows fliiting about it. He then stops and listens, focusing his senses. A wounded werewolf was no less a threat and with no one to watch his back great caution was crucial to survival this night. Unless picking up sounds of a hidden werewolf, the young white-haired man quietly steps closer to the tree, hoping to find bloody tracks to follow.
Tanyi sits down on a chair, letting go a long breath. "Thanks for your welcome, Valentin. I could use a place to rest, I have been on edge for two or three days I think. It is hard to tell here when it is day or night...". She looks at the food on the table, have a quick smell. She shrugs her shoulders and helps herself. After living in the streets for two days, the soup and the bread taste amazingly good. She continues, while chewing: "Do you *crunch crunch* know exactly what is this place ?". She grabs a glass of poor wine. "I guess you don't know how to leave this place either, you would not be there otherwise... Is there any person that is in charge, that could help me find a way home?"
While discussing, Tanyi will keep an eye out for anything suspicious Perception: 25
The young man gives him a small nod before taking the coins from him. "Some mead and a meal coming right up sir." He says with a soft hum however when he thought about the rest of what Oselorn had said he paused for a moment before taking a breath. "I can't recall the name of this area off the back of my mind but often travelers from the Sword Coast stop here to rest. Rather lately there have been stories of werewolf attacks to the east of Daggerford, those stories are quite frightening but I doubt that werewolves would come here. From what I can tell most people around here speak common, elvish, dwarvish, gnomeish and occasionally infernal. I personally can only speak common but the barkeep and his brother know quite a few different ones."
The barkeep fills a glass and brings it over to her. "I apologize for the delay, here is your drink. You're food will be ready shortly. It's been quite busy today, I'm actually kind of surprised by it but I won't complain. Coin is coin and as long as nobody causes any trouble things are going to be alright... albeit a little slower than usual."
He then turns his attention towards Xander. "Can I get you anything?"

Oselorn cocks an eyebrow in muted surprise at the server not knowing the name of this land, but he makes no issue of it. He simply smiles and thanks the young man.
He then turns his attention back to the musician, pulling his own viol from where he keeps it strapped on his back. As he joins the performer in song, his eyes scan the room, searching for signs of anything unnatural.

When he steps closer to the tree he doesn't hear anything that would suggest that the wounded werewolf is nearby. As he begins to search for more bloody tracks he notices that the ones that lead to the tree begin to recede deeper into the forest. The other tracks that had been following those seem to split off and one set heads to the east, one to the west. and one to the northeast. They seem to be possibly be tracking someone or something further in the forest.
Valentin sat down across from her and nodded ever so slightly. "I'm pretty sure that it's night." He responded with a soft chuckle before pausing when she asked if he knew what the place was. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he leaned back in his seat a little. "I don't exactly know what this place is but it's a little better than the place I originally came from. It certainly isn't as drab although it's still just as dangerous seeing how the others will literally kill for a better 'roll'."
There is a momentary silence as he thinks about the possibility of leaving and a faint hint of a smile began to form on his lips. "Well the mist brought us to this land, right? Perhaps it can take you back to where you came from? I'm not entirely sure how it works but perhaps this will help you." As soon as he says that he pushes a bottle of wine over to her. The label on the bottle reads Red Dragon Crush.
{ With a 25, Tanyi doesn't notice anything suspicious from Valentin but near the door she can make out what looks to either be smoke or mist just outside of it.}
The musician smiles slightly and gives him a nod as he hears Oselorn join him. As the song continues he gets up from his seat and slowly makes his way over to him.
{ With a 22, Oselorn notices that the fire in the hearth moves almost as if it was dancing to the song.}
As the song comes to an end the old musician bows slightly before leaning against the table. "You're pretty good, want to play another song with me while you wait for your food?"
The bartender nods slightly. "Some ale and food? I can certainly get you that, although the food may take a little while." He says as he grabs a tankard and begins to fill it. "To be honest, it's mostly just hoping that they won't but hoping they won't doesn't change the fact that they certainly could com here and lay waste to this town..." He trailed off slightly and glanced down at the bar for a moment before taking the full tankard over to him.
Still holding is pitch-black blade, Grégoire follows the tracks leading to the northeast, picking up pace now as there would likely only be one adversary at the end of these tracks.
As he follows the tracks to the northeast the mist seems to thicken ever so slightly. The further he follows the tracks the thicker the mist becomes. About forty feet ahead of him there is a thick wall of fog and the tracks seem to stop just before this wall, before turning in a western direction.

Oselorn's eyes move from the fire to the old man with a friendly smile. He bows his head in response to the invitation. "It would be quite an honor... I must admit, it's a rare treat to share a tune with such a gifted player. Why, the way you bend a note, I'd half expect the flames to dance, the earth to quiver or air itself to start whistling along in harmony. Do tell, from where do you hail, my good sir?"
I monitor his response very carefully to see if he has any reaction to my description of his music.

Tanyi nods at the last remark "This mist is indeed strange, as if it had a life on its own.". She takes a large sip of the wine for courage and continues "I'm wondering what lurk in this mist and if indeed it could bring me back to the underdark." She opens the doors and quietly steps out in the mist with caution. "Let's see where this leads me. Better than a spooky village full of insane actor ready to kill me..."
