As he continues forwards into the fog he notices a shadowy figure approaching him. As the figure got closer to him he sees a skeletal warhorse and rider, both clad in ruined chainmail. The skeletal rider is holding a rusted lantern that sheds no light whatsoever, and the pair don't seem to notice him. It appears that they are searching for something that they cannot find.
Tanyi continues with Grégoire, silently. She signs to him to not make any sounds, who knows how strong is this creature? She will scan the area with her good eyes to see if she could spot what this rider is looking for. Perception: 14
Tivara is likewise ready to move on to some work and to earn some money, reputation and excitement if she can manage it. As soon as her companions are ready to move one she will be ready as well. Gear in hand and pack ready with the supplies she might need.
Grégoire turns slightly and gives the svirfnebli a discreet nod, staying still and silent, hoping to stay unnoticed, scanning the mist for whatever the undead rider might be searching for.

The skeletal rider doesn't seem to notice Grégoire or Tanyi. From what both of you can gather it appears that it's trying to either look for a way out {and certainly hasn't been successful at finding} or they might be looking for a more than likely long dead allie.
"What do you say Tanyi, do we ask our emaciated friend for directions?" Grégoire turns and say quietly to where he thinks the svirfnebli hides, smiling and winking, then pressing forward.
Oselorn pays for a room and goes straight to bed. He's grown quite comfortable here. It feels like he's been in this tavern for weeks. However, he's eager to get on the road to see what adventures lie ahead...
Tivara is likewise ready to move on to some work and to earn some money, reputation and excitement if she can manage it. As soon as her companions are ready to move one she will be ready as well. Gear in hand and pack ready with the supplies she might need.
As dawn breaks you can hear the sound of a rooster crowing as the faintest hint of sun light begins to peak through the windows of the tavern. Although it is nowhere near as Misty as it was the night before there is still a faint trace of mist hovering just above the ground. "Good morning, don't forget to leave your room keys on the bar before you head out. Don't want to have to replace any more keys than we really have to." The bartender says with a faint hint of a chuckle as himself and the cook are looking over their inventory.
Tivara is ready and leaves with them after returning their own key. She thanks the barkeep and leaves a small silver piece tip for their hospitality. She will nod to Oselorn seeing them ready as well. She heads right off, setting off to their next destination.

The bartender thanks them as he watches them leave. Once they exit the tavern they are met with the same cold mist that had blanketed the town the previous night, although it was lower than it had been the previous night. As they begin to leave they notice hoof prints headed to the west that most likely belonged to the messenger's horse.
The horse stops as it's rider glanced around, almost as if trying to detect movement after a couple seconds the rider hops down from the horse and raises the lantern up. Even though it doesn't cast any light it and doesn't really make much sound it almost appears as though it's calling out to someone that can't be seen.
Oselorn observes the mist, a bit unnerved before nodding to Tivara, "M'lady... Shall we make our way to this 'Barovia'? I don't suppose you know anything about it, do you? Or these Svalich Woods we're supposed to pass through?"

"Indeed, let's get going. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with these places... which worries me. I was traveling and thought I knew where I was heading but I did not hear of any such places. However, the directions to the manor were clear. Perhaps we can view a map of the area to get our brings once we arrive at the lord's estate." Tivara heads into he directions given. Following the path towards their prospective new client.
As Oselorn and Tivara continue forwards down the path they eventually find themselves at the treeline of a forest that the mist seems to be coming from. The misty forest seems rather bright on the outside although neither of them can see or hear any animals near by.

The hair on the back of Oselorn's neck stands on end when he sees the misty treeline. He notices his heart racing, recalling bad memories.
As he scans the tree line for signs of danger (Perception: 19) he addresses Tivara, "This must be the woods the messenger spoke of. They seem... charming. What say I play us a tune as we walk?"

As Tanyi and Grégoire continue to press ahead the fog starts to lighten a little bit but to on either side of them it seems to be thicker. Above them a raven is perched on one of the branches of the trees and it watches them as they continue moving. The towering trees around them appear to be missing their tops which are in actuality lost in heavy gray mist, block out all but a death-gray light. The tree trunks are unnaturally close to one another and the woods have the silence of a forgotten grave, yet exude the feeling of an unvoiced scream.
{At the moment the pair is currently in the Svalich Woods.}

(Sorry, have no idea what I'm supposed to do, Grégoire keeps pressing forward)
{That was just in case you guys wanted to fight the rider.}
Tanyi loves a good fight but knows when to stay stealthy. She will press on with Grégoire.
