(Oh no! Poor Hunin!)
Elsara, seeing the others are making an effort to cover the top will use her scimitar as a makeshift shovel to attempt to make a small trench for the water to drain in, while looking at the ground around them. Getting the horses out may be more difficult than she initially thought...
(I also mistook it as something to walk into rather than a ditch in the ground.)
Elsara is successful in crating a crude drainage system for removing water should it fill the pit.
Gendan and Runt both get the roof up. It looks pretty go-CRASH! The strong winds knock the main support beam down and the entire contraption with all it's metallic poles and thick, heavy but somewhat water repellent cloth. comes crashing down on the three girls and the horses. Make DEX saves.
Val, you make it to the burnt tree by following the scent but it's too late. The rain has put the tree out by now and next to it is a charred corpse that was once Hunin.
She is aware. Don't know how you can do it though. I will allow it if you can come up with some way to do that.
For now the DEX DC was 15 and so everyone except Runt escaped the falling tents. Runt, you are now restrained and the excess water that's falling on top of you is creating an experience similar to being tortured by having water poured on you face while there's a towel wrapped around it. I think it's called waterboarding. You will receive d4 psychic damage from being literally tortured by the weather. I'm not rolling it yet because I want to see what Elsara comes up with. Maybe it can save you in addition to the horses.
Given there are metallic bars falling towards the group, if she is allowed she'd attempt to cast a Lightning Lure to try and target the bars and pull them towards herself with the tent covers. (Don't mind if that doesn't work, or even if it swamps her instead with the waterboarding.)
(Sorry for the late reply, went to eat. Also a warning: My laptop's been acting weird recently. Hopefully it's nothing and I can have it fixed but if it fails me... I might just go quiet without warning.)
Elsara, you use the Lightning Lure creatively and target one of the metal bars and pull the whole the toward you. Because this thing is not a creature that resist (or attempts to resist) your spell in combination to the strong winds and the fact that it's falling through air, the whole thing hurtles toward you and spreads the 4 lose poles in the wind, increasing it's surface area. You are unable to dodge this (The DEX save was DC15 normally, but since you used the spell to pull it towards you, it became much harder to avoid it. DC got boosted from 15 to 17 but at least no one else other than Elsara was targeted) and are hit with a tent and its metal frames. You take, 4 Bludgeoning damage + 3 Psychic damage from being waterboarded. The horses and everyone else is fine. Uh, the rest of you want to help Elsara out of this tangled tent?
Looks like Elsara's just making it worse for herself. She tries to hold this air of grace and finesse when in combat. When trapped in a tarp, no chance...
Gendan flexes her muscles (in a frustrated way, not a show-boaty way), then goes to heave the soaked canvas off of Elsara and into the corner of the pit. "Well, that didn't go as expected. I guess we just have to hope that the storm will pass before this hole becomes a pool."
Guess its meant to be. If that's what you want, Stormbringer Runt stands and speaks to herself. Runt is prepared to spends the night in a hole drenched by rain.

Alright. The storm rages on for a while longer. It stops raining right before sunrise.
Everyone make CON saves
Everyday of survival is a good teacher... as long as you don't get struck by lightning. Everyone gets 150 XP. I already added it to your character sheets. Everyone levels up.
Elsara keeps huddled up to Twinkle Snow (since that horse appears to be less racist) and hopes that they can share a bit of body heat and her blanket to weather the night.
(Assuming Elsara isn't dead from trenchfoot or something)
Elsara stops her morning rituals dead as Val returns with Hunin. There is this moment where she appears to be unresponsive; it is the first time that one of her companions has fallen. This new experience is alien to her as she watches Val place the body down before preparing to bury it. "What... How?" She stutters to Val upon him speaking to the group. She barely knew their recent companion, and words appear to be failing her right now.
Gendan doesn't give much reaction to the death of Hunin. Inwardly, she feels she failed him, and she'll continue to fight for the surviving members of the crew.
As the water level in the hole rises, Gendan will use her shield to bail the water out of the hole. The physical labor will distract her from the loss of an ally.

If Elsara is aware of the canopy coming crashing down, is there any way she can intercede to attempt to deflect it from the horses?

Not feeling right to leave the corpse of Hunin in the open, Val snaps his jaws on it and bring it to the others. He then will bury it at the next day.
"We got separated in the middle of the storm. I thought he was following me " he says to the others " I feel sorry for him. "

“A lighting stroke nearby. It’s sad Elsara, but also remember that death is part of life too, and in his dead, he will bring new life to the forest.”
