(@Runt Rat6 is still standing and within 5ft of Runt. Pack tactics makes it so that all attacks gain advantage provided an ally is next to the target.)
While he still moves towards his friends, Valwarin calls forward to the spirit of the wolf to come to aid his allies.
He called and the spirit answered, and a traslucent, light-blue spirit appears between Elsara, Gendan and Runt, it remsemblence the form that Val uses to adopt, of a white dire winter wolf, and around him the cold wind of the north swirls and reach the companions. They feel the air cleanising and refreshing, and the pain of their wounds slightly eases.
Val doesn't hesitates, and fires another arrow towards one of the ratman that still pest around Runt.
Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
( Movement; get closer to the action his full movement, 35 ft. BA: cast Healing Spirit as we act together, would you give both Elsara and Runt the chance to "start" their turns around the spirit so they both can heal 1d6 HP?. Action, bow attack against Ratman6 )
Edit: crap! dice aren't with us on this fight. Pack tactics is a nasty ability from monsters. I saw it made TPK with just 1/4 CR monsters, and I guess this ratmans are more than that due to their apparent stats... once again thought fight but we can do this!... I hope... ;)
Ok, pack tactics, but I belive that only works if you have an alien within 5 feet of an adjacent target? Are you sure it works for ranged attack like that? I'm legitimately curious becuae I dont know.

DM: (I don't see why it shouldn't work with ranged attacks but that's just how I interpreted it. I mean, the rules didn't say anything about it only applying to melee or ranged attacks since it says "The rat has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the rat's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated." [Excerpt from Giant Rat stat block] so I just interpreted that to mean any and all attacks. )
DM: Val, you can only have one guy start their turn in the spirit's place since it is a 5ft space. I would recommend putting it between Runt and Elsara. Then, both of them plus Gendan can use up 10ft movement (5ft to enter the space and 5ft to exit) to heal 1d6 HP on their turn for free. Confirm what you wish to do with healing spirit,
Val moves forward and lets loose another arrow; only for it to get stuck on the wall behind his target.
Runt and Elsara's turn.
(The Ratmen were homebrewed by heavily editing the Wererat. I'd put them on CR 1.5 to CR 2. I know CR1.5 isn't a real CR but I am just saying that's how difficult I think these guys would be)
(Also don't worry, you guys are doing great so far. I believe you can win this.)
(The Barbarian trait for Pack Tactics requires that the barb is within melee and the attacker is melee. Unfortunately, none of the monster Pack Tactics seem to reference the melee attacker bit.)
(I agree that the mosnters pack tactics doesn't specify that it's only for melee attacks. The only ones that are capable of ranged attacks that came to my mind are the kobolds, but it deosn't specify that it's only for melee. I think that the "imbalance" if there is one here, is that pack tactics is an ability meant for really weak creatures that lvl1-2 characters can kill with just one hit... if they hit! XD
Also, the position of the spirit is what I thought thanks, but It's not me who has to activate the spirit, it's at the starts of their turns, if I can see them and it's no action for neither them or me to get healed. So I see no reason for both of them get the healing at the start of their turns... but that's up to you of course. I would say that Runt needs it more... "
(I am not sure what you want me to do so I'm just going to put it in the place so that each character can use 10ft movement to get healed and still not get AoOd)
Elsara tries to spin and slash into the Ratman6 but the creature deflects the attack to the side with its shield. At that moment, Elsara draws her short sword and attacks. The Ratman wasn't expecting this second attack at all so he was left completely open and unable to defend against the second sword swing. A powerful blow is dealt to the the chest. The Ratman still stands though.
(Barbarian trait: Wolf Totem Level 3: “While you're raging, your friends have advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature within 5 feet of you that is hostile to you. The spirit of the wolf makes you a leader of hunters.”)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ratman6 notices the hammer heading for its head and blocks the deadly attack with its shield.
The Rat sounds are louder than ever. The Rat reinforcement is here! Rolling initiative. They have appeared in the battle area (but not the map since I kept the posted version limited to what your characters can see). These four will act starting next round
Rat7: 11 Rat8:8 Rat9:5 Rat0:19
Rat6 Counter attacks off the block it made. Target is Runt War pick 1: 15 Dmg: 2 War pick 2: 19 Dmg: 2
Rat4 takes two more shots at Runt. Crossbow1: 24 (Adv:12) Dmg: 7 Crossbow2: 6 (Adv:6) Dmg: 5
Scale is 10ft. Empty space/floor(-) Briggs' glowing rock(¬) Wall(=) Door(#) Healing spirit(!) Red means it's a corpse and you can easily stand and move through that space. Brown means unconscious/Rolling Death Saves
Runt dodges both pick thrusts only to take a crossbow bolt to the hip and stop moving, temporarily. This was long enough for the rat4 to take aim and fire. The bolt hit Runt at the side of her abdomen and pierces all the way through her body and hits Elsara in the shin, startling her (but not doing any damage). Luckily nothing extremely vital was hit. Runt coughs up blood and tries to stand and fight but the world goes black and she collapses on her back. (DYING STATE: DEATH SAVE)
(I forgot. ... I think I can try and make this look cool)
As Runt collapses on the group, Ratman6 readies its war pick to strike down Elsara. The two rat crossbow men also aim their weapons at the elven wizard. Just then, unnoticed by all of the creatures, Runt twitches a bit. Then, the half-orc barbarian stands up (you may roar/battle cry if you wish).
If you wish, you may say a one-liner (Not required to make the attack) and you can make one attack against an enemy that is within 5ft of you. You have advantage on the attack roll because they weren't expecting you to suddenly stand up like that after getting taken down. You cannot add the thunder damage for this attack that you usually get from your class feature.
I have to ask Mr DM, why are the rats getting advantage on me ?

Val summons a misty wolf spirit.
Elsara and Runt's Turn.
(So there's still a ratman next to her that's decided to ignore her, right?)
Elsara spins in with another strike of her blade. She then pulls her shortsword in her other hand and attempts a follow-up strike.
