Alright. Going to move on for now and have Elsara catch up later when Poke comes back online.
So there are two paths you can take to get back to Sydil if you take the roads. One leads you through Romel and the other path gets you closer to Vitmore Valley. I have not calculated how fast each path is but just by looking at it, I don't think the time difference will be more than a few hours. Also one of you roll Survival. This will determine how many rations you spend. DC13 for halving food costs (1 day's worth of rations spent every 2 days) and DC20 for no food cost.
Runt:
She says "To learn to read and write... that is a pickle. You need to read in order to read books but you need to read books in order to learn to read. Can you read some basic orcish dear? I may have something for you."
(Hey, finally back and catching up. Just gonna skim and try and fill in the blanks.)
With regards to the spellbook: Elsara will look over the spellbook."Wow, guess we had a bit in common with what we learnt, but these ones would be useful! Thanks!" She says to Gen once she's calmed down a bit. (There was about one spell on each level that she didn't have, so she'd like to keep the book to eventually transfer the spells into her own.)
So need to work out transferring the spells across. The four Elsara doesn't have are Tasha's Hideous Laughter, Blur, Hold Person and Fireball. It's 50 gp per spell level to transcribe, so the materials would cost a total of 400gp (8 level's worth) to eventually copy across.
Outside of that, there might be other spells that could be available in town. Is there a scriptorum that she could purchase spell scrolls from to be able to transcribe across?
Outside of that, perhaps purchase some extra rations. She has 17 listed on her sheet atm, but pretty sure about 10 of them are gone by now for things. Potions of healing-wise, she has 1 remaining, so maybe purchase an extra 2 or 3 of them.
Magic item wise, perhaps get one of the backpack of holdings like the others. If they have sending stones, she'd be interested in a pair of them, too. Can be cheeky and see if they make winged boots in adorable little elf shoe sizes :-p
Let me know if you need any more details or if I need to tally up final prices.
During the couple of days, Elsara will have sent a magic message to probably Catherine to give them an update. "Hi Miss Blackwing, we completed what we needed to and are planning on heading back soon. Just restocking for the journey back. See you later!"
In this town, you can get spell scrolls of 1st level spells. Price of spell scroll depends on spell.
Backpack of Holding = 720 GP Spending Stone = 225 GP Winged Boots = For this custom world, they count as Rare and not uncommon. You can't find them here.
Will mark off the money for the special materials, some extra for the backup book, for the spellbook transcribing and the backpack/stones (480 + 720 + 225 = 1,425 gp. Will remove 142pp and 5 gp)
(Oh, forgot will probably buy a bunch of rations, especially now the backpack can hold more. So spend 2pp on 20 days extra rations.)
"Oh, Miss Darkwing says there's some packages waiting for us when we get back!" She informs the group.
(Okay, sorry for the delay, ready to head off with the others. Elsara's not the best for the Survival aspect, but will help where she can. How long day-wise do we think the journey would be?)
The journey will take about 1 or 2 days. So are you guys going to take the path through Romel or are you going to take the path closer to Vitmore Valley?
"If we head to Romel, we might be able to get a nice warm bed for the night." Elsara suggests to the others. "We had plenty of rainy stuff on the ship and doing night watches."
"While True, Ms. Elsara. It was also the place of our last mission. And... I would prefer not staying in the city of the dead. Or worst yet, one in the process of being picked over by the unscrupulous living, if we are so misfortune." Devarus replied formally. "But if all else wishes to and have no qualms, I will not protest further." If Elsara still appears confused by his assertions, Devarus would launch into an abbreviated version of the groups last visit there; including the final fight in the castle, wresting the amulet in part responsible for the event from a madman, before some at least were forced to watch the souls of the dead be sucked in to it.
Hist story finished, unless otherwise asked to help in some way, Devarus becomes closed off for a while.

Goyo - [Tortle]Druid/Warlock - Circle of Sea/Celestial (Libretalia)
Vogan - [Goliath-Hill]Bard - ???(A Dungeon-Delving Campaign Group C)
The Tiefling woman says, "I see. Let me get a book for you." She slowly walks inside the shop. After waiting for what feels like forever, the woman returns with a book about 100 pages big or so. It is written entirely in orcish but the language used is very simple. It is clearly a children's book for learning Common. She says, "This book should help you with you Common. The best way to learn a language" she adds, "is to practice it. Once you've read a few chapters, I suggest trying to write something of your own. Perhaps a story or an essay." The book is 3 Silver.
DM: When I saw Elsara mention Romel, I was wondering who was going to tell her lol.
Runt buys the book, thanks the woman and returns to the group as the shopping comes to an end, making sure to hide the book as best as she can. Once she is ready she will get some writing utensils and paper. But not yet.

Perhaps a Tenser's Floating Disk and Unseen Servant would be fun, and maybe Disguise Self would work for if we have some undercover work in the future.

Also I forgot to mention, Catherine had this to respond on your message, "Thanks for the Update. Got packages for you all."
