Elsara's along for the ride, probably asking for a quick overview before leaving so she's up to speed as she hasn't really gotten much done outside of scribing her spells. After Gen has looked over the spellbook, she'll have secreted the spare spellbook away back to its usual spot, just in case.
(Also if we're doing ring things, is it worth actually talking to the client before leaving Sydil?)
(That seems far too much like the logical recourse, Pokepaladdy. And clearly something to have forgotten about, and been later mad at ourselves having done so. Like what almost happened just now.)
For all of Devarus' desire for rest, unless another like Valwyrnn or conveniently Elsara had already done so, he would return to the guide to ask about the location of the client in town to discuss the mission. If for no other reason then to know the name of this grandfather, as well as the design of the ring to avoid being duped at some later point.

(Yeah, I definitely would have given you trouble for not talking to the client later. I definitely didn't forget about it myself, yes. I am good DM)
About the client, Catherine gives you her location and Deva and Val ask about the ring. The client, a young lady by the name of Elise Rainseed wants her grandfather's ring back. She tells you that her grandfather was known as Blaise Rainseed, who was a fierce bandit of the Orien region. His ring is a small gold ring with the family crest (she tells you what the crest looks like and now your characters will know it when they see it) on it. The ring also had small vine designs on it. He was executed in Farendale so the ring should be with the Guard in that town.
Anyway... I'll be updating this shortly with the actual mission update.
Val asks the yound lady if she can give any kind of written proof that she is, indeed, the heir of Blaise, and that they are her proxys to recover the bandit's possesions so they can present it to the Guard of the town and bring them back to her.
"We should recover that before departing..." he wishpers to Devarius before asking her
"And do you don't fear that there are any debt left that they reclaim to you as his heir? or that they have decided that the ring is going to be used to cover that debts?"
The woman answers, "That, I don't know. I live far from Farendale so I don't know about any debts inherited from my Grandfather. However, as far as I know, there are none."
"And do you know of any friends or allies your grandfather might've sent missives to you about? Despite his reputation, one does not get into Banditry without reason. Or are necessarily so cutthroat as to have nothing in their lives they would wish not seen protected and nurtured."

Whilst the carriage is being arranged and client is being asked for more details, Elsara will spend a few gold on extra supplies, grabbing some meats or large insects in a pot to be able to feed the lizards during the travel. (I'll knock off 1 pp as a base, let me know if it differs one way or another).
Deciding to make haste, you head out on the lizard carriage. It is still raining and the weather is miserable. The rain has made the roads muddy which has resulted in slowing the carriage down considerably. Still the party powers through and heads straight for Farendale. They camp for the night in Wylan, close to Evie river. The light spraying of non-stop rain ripples on the river water. During the rain, it seems that all the wildlife had taken shelter. Thus the party has to eat half of a day's worth of rations for lunch. At night however, Val manages to catch a bunch of fishes. Smell of cooked fish fill the air as they are cooked in the camp fire. The night passes uneventfully but still a bit miserably due to the wet weather. The next morning, the miserable rain continues. The rest of the half pack of day's rations is devoured for lunch. (Subtracting 1 Ration from everyone's sheets). The sloped road up that leads the plateau of Orien is very very muddy. Still after an uphill drive, the party reaches the fork in the road near Evie River. Val is about to go fishing when the party sees a tent out beside the river. A young human man with black messy hair. The early members of the Guild recognize the man as the traveling monk, Kanai.
Kanai stops punching the rain for a bit to look at Gendan. He turns around and says with much enthusiasm, "HEY! It's my Rival. How have you been. Did you get stronger? I know I have. Through careful and rigorous study of the ways of the great Gokul, I have learned his signature attack, the Ka-maya-maya Wave. I am now training to perfect it. Once I do it, I will be one step closer to becoming the best monk in the world an unlocking the secret of the Way of The Shijian Long! Come! We must spar to test how far we have come since last time." He takes a battle stance.
DM: Not rolling initiative because Gendan has the option to decline the battle or ask for someone else team up with her or whatever. He isn't going to attack her unless she agrees to the fight.
Elsara giggles slightly, she enjoys the overwhelming enthusiasm and positivity that Kanai seems to be filled with. She decides to keep with the carriage (pending Gendan's rematch) and survey their practice from there.

She says that she gave the proof to the Guild.
"Thank you miss..." replies Val

1 PP is way too much. 1 GP should be more than enough if all you wish to buy is Lizard Food.
(Added 9gp back on then :-) )
Alright. Sorry for the delay. Moving the plot along now.
Forgot to ask for Survival from Val so I'll just roll for him. The party seems to have nominated him as the team survival man: 15

Gendan will approach Kanai’s camp peacefully. “Hey monk! Remember me? How’s the training going?”
