The only thing that Elsara can detect is the general presence of Affectus Uti all over the house. Unfortunately, this is also masking the presence of the creature.
Devarus shakes his head. "It is tempting. But the creature has displayed no ability to outright teleport. And I would rather not risk there somehow being another one lurking just beyond it. Best we check elsewhere first, unless..." Devarus looks back to Val, giving him an expectant look. So far the elf had been able to track the creature's spidery antics and fought it before no less. So, it was only reasonable that he could know more to add now. And if not, unless the tracks lead in the direction of the door, he would wish to double back and have the others checked leading up to it.

With heavy footsteps, the party climbs the stairs to the 2nd floor. The wood is creaky and the same dirty yellow paint is all over this place as well. The paint is peeling off from age The stairs lead to a corridor that stretches Westward. The east wall of the corridor is right next to the hall way. Lamp fixtures that have long since burned out are attached to the north and south walls of the corridor. On the north wall are two wooden doors and a similar wooden door is on the south wall. The corridor in ends in a set of heavy double doors made of expensive wood and brass at the west end. The party is no longer able to track the presence of the creature. Either it got wise and covered its tracks or the peeling paint of the ceiling masked its steps. Lots of paint has peeled off from the ceiling but there is no way to know if it was due to the creature's movement or due to the sheer age of this part of the house.
Devarus keeps his distance by at least ten feet, and namely keeps his focus on the hallway beyond the door being checked at any given moment, searching for any signs of the creature waiting and lurking above and along it. Or even.... on the side walls themselves!

Meanwhile Runt opens the door and Gendan gets ready to attack... ... ...
However the room is empty. It starts to feel like that one creature is the only one in the room. Which is a blessing because that means you don't have to worry about other monsters attacking you. However the creature you are tracking seems extremely powerful and capable of downing an ally in one shot should it get the drop on the party. It nearly killed Val without any issue at all and the only thing that saved Val was his ability to wildshape.
The room beyond is a small bedroom with blue and pink paint peeling off the walls. There are two dusty and decaying wooden cribs here. Broken and neglected children's toys sit at an old decrepit toy box. This seems like a nursery. The presence of two cribs and a collection of broken dolls and toy battleships suggest that one of the two children that were kept here was a boy while the other was a girl. There is a small painting in the room of a rough haired human woman who is missing a few teeth holding two babies. A balding human male who can be presumed to be the father is standing next to the woman. He is wearing a suit with a few patches on it.

((OOC: Uh... You guys found Bill's corpse))
(Sorry, forget I said anything. Brain's having one of those days.)
I guess Elsara's Detect Magic is still active. Is there any trail she can follow with it, or is it all still too messed up with Affectus Uti?
Hm... You know, I guess Detect Magic combined with Affectus Uti Invisibility could be used for tracking...
Roll Perception or Survival.
Perception: 5
Ha, nope!
The only thing that Elsara can detect is the general presence of Affectus Uti all over the house. Unfortunately, this is also masking the presence of the creature.
Runt eyes the door that is all chained up and looks to her party to see if they want her to bash it open.

(Survival 14 )
PbP Character: A few ;)
The tracks seems to disappear at the gap in the ceiling through which the stairs go up. It seems the creature went up stairs.
Runt wispers Follow?

Gendan stays right on Runt’s tail, pact blade drawn and gripped firmly in her fist.

What does the Party do?
Runt would like to try the closest door, as that seems to her the most logical place.

Deva, roll Perception with Disadvantage. If both Elsara and Val help you, you get advantage instead.
... So just roll Perception twice instead of relying on the "Advantage" feature of the dice roller.
