It wasn't a spell, it was an ability of its. Though I guess the ability was magical in nature... Make a INT check with proficiency. If you beat DC 15, you can do it.
((I know that counterspell doesn't work against magical abilities but I am ruling it will work against some Affectus Uti magic abilities because game balance and homebrew. Didn't work out here though because of failed INT check))
Devarus tried not to, but couldn't help but stare bug-eyed for a second at the former human. "The Tiger is likely our missing elven friend, but we cannot let it get away now! So after the /not/ tiger." He strongly "suggest' before barreling in at least the rough direction of the creature. As much as he had a mind to see about spray painting the area with bolts, he instead wove the words into being, conjuring Faerie Fire[Dex 12] into what he hoped to be the escaping creature's path.
(To DM: If you need more an exacting position since Devarus would be doing this blindly, he targets the 20ft cube at the intersection between the first and second square room if it sounded as if it went that aways.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Deva goes into the room and is about to put down Faerie fire in the center when he notices the boarded up window on the north wall break. He points the spell in that direction instead (I changed the target of the spell to some place Deva would have reason to believe that the creature would be). A burst of light spreads near the window...
Creature DEX: 14
but the creature is too quick and escapes through the now broken window to the room beyond.
(Is the creature on sight of Val? If dont he will try to reach them and on sight of his friends he will revert to his elf form but I will post that when you confirm... )
The creature escaped/escaping. It can't see Val and Val can't see it. It is also invisible but Val can conclude from the talk of his friends that it is not in the same room as them.
Val heard his friends nearby. He didn't know where the creature was but if it ambushed them as it had ambushed him... he had to warn them.
He jumped out of his hiding place and ran towards the voice of his comrades, ready to jump away in case the creature attacked him again, he hoped to reach them in time.
( In case is necessary, action Dodge and movement towards them )
Elsara will follow through with the others, attempting to look for signs of the invisible quarry. Perhaps the noise of footfall or colliding into objects in their hasty retreat.
Elsara doesn't notice anything that isn't obvious already. Namely the broken window that leads to a different part of the house. Though the party might consider treating Val first since he might die if the creature gets a nasty crit on him?
"Oh, Val!" Elsara hurries to rejoin the group. "What happened? Are you alright?" She pulls a potion of red liquid from her pouches on her belt, offering for him to take it.
Potion of Healing: Heals Val (if he wants to drink it) 5 hit points. She has a second if needed.

Intelligence Check: 8 vs. DC 15.
(Counterspell is specifically for against spells, so other magical abilities can't be affected. I'm fine with it not working in that case.)

(DM: Did the metal clicking thing and the tiger go the same direction?)

No, the thing went back to the first "double-square" room while the tiger fled into the north office room that Runt broke the metal door of.

"Give chase to the abomination, or to the tiger-- is no one going to mention the tiger? This place is so F---ed up. I hate Affectus Uti."

(Does Val see his friends?)
PbP Character: A few ;)
Well... I would say no
But he can hear them talk.

(Was Val not the tiger? And injured tiger, but a tiger all the same? Or did he shift back when he ran to us and still appeared extremely roughed up?)
