Gendan, dejected, goes over toward Folki and takes a seat, but says nothing. Her disappointment in herself is palpable. She won’t raise her eyes even to eye level of the other fighters.
Even though the enemy turned out to be a friend, she should have been more effective in subduing the threat.
Elsara uses Detect Magic and Jay seems to glow. However, this magic is of a different nature than other forms of magic. The magic aura that appears around Jay thanks to Elsara's spell seems bright and somehow sinister.
Okay... Moving on (Welcome back from the weekends everyone)
- QUEST COMPLETE -
Everyone gets 100 XP.
Just as everything begins to get quiet, Jay holds her head in her hands and starts screaming in pain. The symbol reappears on her forehead and red light comes out of her eyes and the symbol which light up the whole room. Starting from the symbol, red glowing cracks begin to spread through her face and then her whole body. Her screaming gets louder and more intense with the second and until... With the sound of a muffled explosion, Jay's body shatters like statue and sprays all of you with blood and bits of flesh. The torch goes out and everything is dark and quiet again. The smell of fresh blood fills the room.
If anyone was in the living room (did Gym move to the kitchen after the fight was over?)
You are surprised by a blood curdling scream and bright red light coming from the kitchen. You hear something break and see the angel statue shatter on it's own. The screaming continues and intensifies. Then you hear the sound of a muffled explosion and the screaming stops; the red light is gone and you are left in darkness. The smell of fresh blood invades the room.
(Sorry. Seem to have missed the notification from yesterday. Just to add in retroactively)
Elsara, after seeing the strange mark and magic with her senses, looks perplexed. "Well, there's some magic there." She says, gesturing around Jay. "Hmm..." She then seems to go into a hesitant thought. "Wait, I think I read something. Back in a bit!" She rushes out of the room and to her pack in the room where she was meditating. She pulls an old dusty tome out of the pack and she begins reading through it, blocking out other things as she tries to find a passage she read before.
(Elsara will have been deep in thought in the other room at this point. Sorry if that doesn't fit in, it's what she would've been doing)

Elsara will be mentally filling in the blanks as best she can, starting from the top to the bottom of the page as the event happens. She jumps slightly, but tries to keep a steady hand on the book so she doesn't break anything. She looks around before hastily stowing the tome back into her pack and rushing into the room. "What happened?"She asks as she rushes into the room, one hand cautiously on the handle of the scimitar in case of another attack.
has no trouble filling in the gaps of the first 8 schools. This is because they are the schools she has read countless times during her studies; Abjuration, Divination, Conjuration, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation. The 9th school is the one that is foreign to her. She was having a very hard time trying to figure out what this one could be about. Her pondering is cut short by the commotion, which she moves to investigate. While moving there, she notices the broken angel statue.
Valwarin tries to help Jay when she start screaming. He then holds her in his arms as the pain makes her pull her head back. When she explodes he lays sitting in the floor, covered in blood and gore in the darkness, totally shocked.
With Jay dead, a certain silence engulfs the house (Not an actual magical silence. I mean, compared to the noise that happened during the battle and when Jay exploded, it is quiet now). You are all alone in the dark empty house.
Elsara scours the room, seeing the blood and gore everywhere, Val on the floor covered in the remains (and possibly some of the fleeting remnants of the magic where Jay was). "What happened?" She repeats again, carefully stepping through the kitchen, attempting not to stand on anything.
Skriiod looks to Elsara. "I Think what ever power was posessing Jay, deciding to kill her rather than being discovered. We should investigate the area and see if we can find any clue as to what that thing was."

Elsara, now taking everything in and realising what's happened, attempts to stifle her gut reaction to wretch. "Oh, eww eww eww!" She says, backing out of the room and taking a deep breath. After regaining some composure, she'll go back over to the statuette to examine its now shattered remains.
Elsara places the angel statue pieces together. She notices that the inside of the statue was hollow. To hide this fact, a thin layer of metal on the inside to make the statue feel solid. On one part of the metal is the same symbol etched in. Now that you get a good look at it without the strange magic interfering, you notice that it bears the same symbolism used in the other runes that represent a school of magic. However, your knowledge of magic runes tells you that the style used here is very archaic and has a lot of dissimilarities with the runes you know well. You can only discern a part of it to mean "Soul" but not much else. Also, the angel's face doesn't evoke a sense of melancholy anymore. Instead of the low pained smile you thought it had (when you looked at it in the morning), it now has a lifeless smile. It's similar to the type of smiles one can find on a mask or on a doll.
Yes, Gym moved to the kitchen and is horrified at the person explosion.

Valwarin prepares a tea in silence and gives it to Elsara who seems more prepared to deal with that situation.

Nah. It kinda does. In that case, Elsara will experience the effects put in the spoiler. Also, what is Elsara reading about?
Elsara is looking through an old book she picked up
Elsara is looking into the bit she read over about a theoretical school of magic that doesn't exist.

If Elsara's Detect Magic is still active, she will take a quick glance at it. Does there appear to be any magic about the broken statue?
There was strong magic there but it is quickly radiating away. The magic is the same kind as the one around Jay.
Valwarin tries to help Jay when she start screaming. He then holds her in his arms as the pain makes her pull her head back. When she explodes he lays sitting in the floor, covered in blood and gore in the darkness, totally shocked.
