"But... You wouldn't want to be eaten by birds, or if you had a loved one like this..." Elsara goes quiet, tired of the argument. "I'm burying them. If you want to leave me behind, then fine."She says in a grumpy tone.
(Continuing on...)
Elsara will head over to the area, calling out to see if there is anyone there. "Hello? Anyone here? We have some sheep that need tending to for a little while."
Elsara will wave to Ian. "Hiya, so we've got these sheep that need taking care of for a little while. Do you mind if we keep them here while we go report to Mr. Sweetcane?" She asks with a big smile on her face.
When Elsara (and possibly Val) go to meet the Guild Master, he welcomes them to his office. "Come in! Come in! What can old Sweetcane do for you today?"
Yeah, Elsara will politely wave to Catherine as she enters the guildhall, asking if Mr. Sweetcane is available to talk to. Assuming that she doesn't say no, she'll go and knock on the door.
"Hi Mr. Sweetcane." Elsara waves to him. "We saw a strange thing on the mission and I wanted to ask if you know anything about it. It's a thing with magic."
"Magic? I was a Barbarian in my youth. I'm the furthest thing from spells and magic." He laughs at his own joke. After Elsara explain the severity of the situation (which you are free to RP) Sweetcane, scratches his short beard. "I see. I'm afraid the symbol itself is unknown to me. However, I have a friend who's a professor of magic in Maldor. Maybe I he would know about something about it. If you have anything you believe that might be linked to the symbol I can send it to him. Do you have any theories as to what the symbol might be?"
"Yeah, so we went to go find the thing that was pestering Miss Jay's place and taking her sheep. She said that it even got her son and we went to investigate and set a trap, but it turned out SHE was the thing as she changed into a fox-like werecreature thing that was really powerful, but we managed to tire her out and she changed back. I saw that there was some weird magic around her and did some research, and I think it might be a forgotten school of magic, and while I was doing that she exploded!"
Elsara nods. "Yeah, I got this book here, really old and about magic." She puts her pack down and retrieves a dusty old tome, being very careful with it. "There's talk about nine schools of magic, but I thought there was only eight, and the symbol that appeared was not in the schools I could identify, so I think it's this one." She begins to scroll through the pages, looking for a particular passage.
Sweetcane takes the books and gives Elsara a confused look. "You were able to decipher stuff from this? Half the words are completely faded. I'll send this to my friend and let you know what he comes up with." He begins to mumble, "A forgotten school of magic? How intriguing."
"Yeah, that's what I think!" Elsara says excitedly, she points to the page in question.

"I think it's meant to say something like this." She says, she makes a little overlay with her magic to fill in the blanks.
The Arcanee Arts is a vast subject andso, it has been divided into various schools based on the t∙∙it∙ of various magic and the forces it manipulates. There are nine such schools of Magic:
1. Abjuration: The school of Abjuration emphasizes magic that blocks, banishes, or protects.
2. Divination: Divination studies the possible use of magic to peer into the future and the past or to make flawless projections of outcomes.
3. Conjuration: Conjuration focuses on creation of objects or creatures by giving the magical energy solidform.
4. Enchantment: The School of enchantment studies the effects of magic on humanoid psyche.
5. Evocation: Evocation, similar to conjuration, studies the art of creating physical focus from Magic. However, unlike conjuration, this school focuses on coalescing magic in to primal forces such as thunder and fire.
6. Illusion: Illusion studies the subtler aspects of magic. It focuses on creating intangible images or lights and sounds.
7. Necrmancy: The School of Necromancy explores the cosmic forces of life, death, and undeath.
8. Transmutation: Transmutation studies the use of magic to alter already existing forms into something else rather than creating something from scratch.
9. Af∙∙∙∙∙s U∙i: Af∙∙∙∙s ∙∙i studies the connection of emotions with magic as well as the nature of a sentient soul ans its reltion to magic.
Horace looks at it and says, "Makes sense. Not sure what the that one word in the beginning is but I don't think it matters at this point as the meaning the sentence was trying to convey is clear as day. The last passage about studying emotion and souls with respect to magic... it does seem possible. Emotions are powerful and not even Necromancy studies the finer nature of the soul itself. It only studies its transportation and storage. Leave the book here and get some rest. If this 9th school of magic really does exist, it will take a considerable period of time to dig up any information on it seeing as how no one knows it even exists."
“Eaten by birds? If that’s the fate that the Mother has for my body once my soul departs...” he srughs his shoulders “ a loved one? If the vessel of a departed loved one is used by the Mother to give new life I would thank her, for then part of my loved one still lived in the sky, flying with the birds, it will give more green to the trees... Life... Death... it’s all intertwiened you know... it’s a cicle that we cannot stop. Let me ask you. Why are you so concerned about their bodies? Were them loved ones? I doubt it. Someone, somewhere loves them? Perhaps. But then again we don’t know what their funeral rites are, so maybe burying them is as offensive to them that leaving them to the Mother is to you. Listen, I will help you bury them if that eases your soul, but know that you are only changing the ones that will benefit from their flesh and body. Ants, worms, bugs, fungus... they all are living thins too and will feast on their corpses. Ultimately the roots of the trees will reach them and will take what they need to live. You are just hiding what is disgusting for you, not sparing their corpses for any “spoiling” as you see it. “
He says all of that without any hint of sarcasm or anything, he’s just expressing his point of view.
And now in the office:
”There were one more thing. There were a statue of an angel that exploded at the same time of her death, with the same symbol inside it. Elsara mended it but no symbol. The statue were given to her by a stranger, if I recall it correctly, so it could be this stranger who gave her this doom. Intentionally or unintentionally, but that statue should be kept here for further study if neccesary.” Valwarin adds to Elsara’s history.
"Can I see the statue? It would be a good idea to send it to Maldor as there will be people far more experienced with the Arcane arts than anyone in Lun there."
"Oh, right!" Elsara will retrieve the small box she used to collect the statue pieces. "I think the magic has left it since the, you know..." She starts to place the pieces together to give a rough image of the angel again. "I think maybe it was a focus for the spellcasting, which is why it was going on and getting worse." She'll give the parts to Mr. Sweetcane to investigate with his network of contacts. "If it's okay, I'd prefer to transcribe this passage. There's lots of this book I want to look through still. We also brought Miss Jay's sheep back with us so they weren't left alone, so maybe they might be able to go to a local farm. Oh, there's also something else."
Elsara reaches into her pack and unbundles the bomb. "I made friends with a goblin named Sekai who can make these. I don't know if the guild would have use for them, but we could commission her in the future if we need them."
(Downtime)
Elsara's immediate thing is finding a new home for the sheep.
Beyond that, Elsara will mostly be attempting to decipher more of the book for any other clues. Beyond that, she'll be training her swordsmanship, going through new drills with her scimitar attempting to feel the balance like that of her shortsword.
Horace takes the bomb and inspects it before handing it back to Elsara. "These bombs aren't too different from the ones we have in stores. I think it would cost about the same to make so I don't think we'd need that. However, since Gabby is here with us, maybe the Goblin clan as a whole would prove to be a valuable ally." He notes the page from the tome down on a piece of paper and hands the book back. "I'll let you know if we come up with something. It will take some time though."
Gym doesn't really have plans for the day. he will wait to see if anyone needs him, and if they don't, he'll probably wander over to the library by the mayor's office. Catherine said it probably won't have information on that symbol but its worth a shot to look regardless.
