Upon reaching the top of the stairs, you pause and listen again. It seems to you that the sounds are coming from the room at the far (west) end of the corridor.
Knowing stealth is not his strength, Janek just walks down the hall slowly. He does look to make sure the rest of the party is along with him. He'll listen at the door to the middle room to make sure he doesn't hear anything there. (Perception: 7) He then moves on to where he hears the sound coming from and tries to see if he can make out anything. (Perception: 24)

You make your way slowly from the staircase to the western-most room. You peek into each room by slightly opening the doors as you pass.
The first room appears to be a kitchen or dining area. It contains a rectangular table surrounded by eight chairs, an L-shaped cupboard, and a floor-to-ceiling closet pantry. Next to the pantry is a small iron stove.
The second room is a bedroom with two pairs of bunk beds occupy this room. Against the west wall rest four identical footlockers.
The third room is a bedroom very similar to the second, but with children's toys spread around - evidently a child bedroom.
You reach the fourth (and last) door on the corridor.
He then moves on to where he hears the sound coming from and tries to see if he can make out anything. (Perception: 24)
The corner room's door is closed, but there are some cracks in the wooden door that allow you a glimpse of the inside without giving away your own position yet. The room is dominated by a large contraption at the far end which appears to be a printing press. There are also some chairs and tables around the room. Through the cracks in the door, you can make out three shapes inside: A humanoid who appears to be rummaging around, and two things that look at first sight like oversized house plants but clearly must be more Blights.
(They have not noticed you yet. But if you want to attack, Roll Initiative.)
Rodan hugs the hall wall beside Janek, listening and trying to peak into the room. He places a hand on the hilt of his longsword and grins, implying he is ready just as soon as everyone else is....

Janek glances back briefly, holding up 3 fingers then pointing at the room. Once he's done this, he turns his attention back to the room, moving quickly to push the door open wide and moves to attack the humanoid he sees in there.
Janek moves into the room, quickly striking the Druid with his two longswords. (Longsword Attack: 11, Damage: 7) (Longsword Attack: 14, Damage: 9)
Janek charges in and slashes at the Druid who is unable to dodge the sudden charge. (Both attacks hit)
Seeing more enemies behind Janek, the Druid shouts "Heeeeelp! Intruders!" and to the Blights shouts "Kill them!" before casting [Tooltip Not Found] on herself.
(AC is now 16 for the Druid; 12 for the Blights - in case you want to narrate your own hits)
Rodan flashes a grin to the others still in the hallway. "Heads up, fellows. They've gone and invited more mates to the bleedin' party. We may 'ave unexpected company soon." Then he draws his longsword and charges into the room.
