Sae also searches the cavern, starting where Wade does and working around in the opposite direction so that she finishes her examinations in the area he saw while he was freshest and vice versa..

You do a thorough search of the chamber, finding another 7 gemstones worth about 100 gp each. You also notice the lantern hanging from the ceiling... for a moment, you hope that this might be what the Captain wanted you to retrieve. But, alas, after a short examination you determine it is an ordinary (and a bit rusty) iron lantern that houses a continual flame.
As you approach the next hallway, you can hear sounds that suggest there is likely a large, flooded cavern ahead.

Emrys didn’t need any source of light. His eyes did not have darkvision, but the sigh of devils. Even in the most complete darkness, magical or natural, he could see clearly as day and twice as far as most folk. Still, he was a merchant at soul. He took the lantern together with the gemstones.
“We’ll divide everything equally when we get out.” He promised covering the light with his cloak. “First things first – are well enough to keep moving forward? We can set an ambush in the direction the spirits disappeared. Pummel them into nothing if we they come back and rest until everyone is at full strength again.” Their surprise attack had almost destroyed the strongest of the wraiths. Something similar should get hid of those repelled by Wade. “That said, I’m still good for a fight if you guys really want to keep on.”
Goldenleaf was divided between tranquility and worry before the view of the water. He was faster there than on ground and that was a good thing, but the last time they went diving on the cave they found two dragon skeletons, both reanimated. And that was at the entrance. Worse things could be there and they could be too tired to fight them.
Sae looks over her equipment. Then she sighs and secures her bow where it won't interfere with her swimming; and takes her normal rapier and dragontooth dagger in hand. Preparing to follow Areleo, she whispers to him, "Looks like I'm down to blades again. What do your people usually use in place of bows and such things, under the water?"

The tunnel descends slowly, but as you continue you notice water on the floor. By the time you reach the cavern itself the water is up to your waists (well, except Emrys... it's a little bit above his waist...)
As you reach the cavern, you can see what is essentially a lake. And floating in the murky water you can see the rotten remains of a ship... how it got down here is anyone's guess.

“Considering who’s the owner of the cave, I’m inclined to say yes.”He answered Sayyida while scanning the area. “There’s no sign of magical darkness or anything trying to hide above water.”
Which only made him believe that something waited under it. A thought better left unsaid, he decided looking at their group. Was it a truly good idea to carry on? It didn’t feel like resting would give that much more advantage. Maybe we should’ve looked for the wraiths, finished them off. The idea of having the ghosts ambushing them mid battle with a stronger enemy was less than pleasant, but how in the Hells could they have tracked something incorporeal? The next best option was to finish the job as fast as they could and hope it would be fast enough to avoid being ambushed by more undead. Maybe we are as ready as we can be.
“Ladie and gentlemen, if anyone needs to rest this is the time to say so. Otherwise, we have a ship to take.” He pointed at the rotten vessel. “Arleo, Yevelda, would be so kind as keep the front?”
Between the lines his question carried to suggestion to move. One he was ready to follow as soon as the tankier duo started the march.
Sae looks coolly at Emrys. "If you say so, Captain, but are you sure you don't want your trained scout doing a bit of reconnaissance first to see if I can get a look at what currently awaits us inside that ship?" Her tone of voice is so carefully and respectfully neutral as to actually make quite clear her opinion as to the wisdom of any other course of action her Captain might choose to take.
Knowing something of the internal politics even within the mercantile guilds, he can only imagine the subtleties and maneuverings within an organization like Sae's that taught her such finely tuned control of her voice ... an organization of spies and scouts, not merely professional but hereditary; where a simple choice such as whether to use the word "one" instead of "a" (when describing the actions of a single individual within a larger group that was being observed) might have six or seven layers of meaning that another wood elf raised and trained in the Taure Tavaari would almost instinctively pick up.
“Tell me you’re not waiting to offer the rotting thing to me as I say that I have no ship.” Strangely enough, his greatest worry was neither on the state of the vessel nor in the fact that it was somewhat docked in an underwater cave whose only exit was far too small for it. Rather, Emrys felt the thing was cursed beyond the likely piece of damned soul it carried. Not to mention the undead that should be guarding it. “I worry about the risk of having anyone advancing alone. If there are things on the water I bet they are waiting in ambush.” And he didn’t want to send anyone to their graves. “If you think it’s worth the risk, well, I trust your scouting abilities with my life.”
Not that he, or anyone there had any other choice. They had to trust each other’s abilities to that point. A thing that, fortunately, had brought good results. There’s always time to die, said the voice of his mind, optimistic as always. Sae specially had never failed to bring new information. He couldn’t quite agree with the idea of anyone there being actually his subordinate, though he had to keep the facade to Yevelda and Maira, but Hells he agreed that she was a highly trained scout.
Notes: Emrys is totally fine with Sae scouting. His player that forgot to consider this option.
Alright, how is Sae going to scout ahead? Does she try to swim, or does she wish to navigate the slimy rocks surrounding the lake?
In the former case, I'm also going to need an Athletics check. In the latter, I'd like either an Athletics or Acrobatics check (Sae's choice) to navigate the treacherous terrain.
