The halfling looks at Areleo uncertainly for a moment... then drops his knife and runs to you.
"Oh, thank the gods!" he exclaims. "Please, get me out of here... before we sink to the bottom of the ocean and get devoured by those horrible monsters!"
(So, how are you planning to get out of here? You could probably break through the ceiling to get to a portion of the ship that isn't flooded... you might even be able to glean some more useful information by looking at a 'dry' portion of the boat, but judging by the way the ship is creaking it's probably not going to be too long before it goes under entirely).

“Small one help Areleo find a way out safely.” Areleo will look around for the safest way out. He has healing potions if he can not keep the little one fully healthy as a last result
The cook points to a hatch a door near the back of the room.
"There should be a room back there that isn't flooded... I'm pretty sure it isn't under water because I can still hear the flames crackling. But I'm afraid I just didn't have the height and strength to pull myself up there. And... frankly... I was a bit too scared to go brave the flames up there. Basically a choice between the frying pan and the fire, ya' know?"
(Note: the ship is tilted right now, so that's why he can't easily reach the door on his own; for Areleo who is probably around three times the size of the halfling, it should be pretty easy to get to the door and pop it open).
Sayyida: There's quite a bit of floating debris; the mast could possibly cause some damage if it collides with the ship, but it doesn't look like it's going to if your ship and the piece of timber stay on their current trajectories.

Areleo will grab onto the hafling and will wrap a rope to attach him to Areleo. Then Areleo will open up to the next room and survey the room to see what the next move should be.
As you enter this section of the ship with your new friend, there are a few small fires burning. The ship is quaking with every step you take, but there's a ladder that will get you out onto the top deck.
If you stop to look around:
There's a small chest in a corner of the room that looks mostly undamaged. If you open it, it contains several sets of clothing and six fairly large gemstones. There is nothing else of note in the room.

Wendell was bait to any thief wort their salt, with all the fine cloth and jewelry the man used to sport. His portly frame made it unlikely for him to deal with any fight on his own, let alone scape a sinking ship. Good man, better merchant. Emrys remembered meeting him once or twice, hearing about his reputation. Sae was right to mention convenient coincidences, he decided pulling his own letter of introduction.
“You’re welcome, lady… Yevelda, I presume?” The halfling turned his head at William. “Emrys Goldenleaf. I’m also with the Guild and as such I must insist that you provide the name of the ship, its route and what you were transporting.” It was unlikely the two humans were pirates, considering their lack of manacles and the state of Yevelda but if they failed to say the correct name and the kind of cargo Wendell used to fare… “I also noticed that you failed to mention the cause of the fire.”
Before they could answer Sayidda shouted asking for Arleo, her eyes on the water. Could the triton be trapped by the wreck? Worse things can happen at the sea, Emrys remembered. Maybe the barbarian needed help, but at the same time it was risky to leave the three newcomers unsupervised.
“He went to the ship. Should be back soon, but if not, we’ll take a look underwater."
Questions: Does Emrys notice anything wrong with William's introduction letter? Does Emrys knows the name of Wendell's ship?
Emrys: Yevelda nods, confirming that you assumed her identity correctly.
William does his best to smile. "Ah, my apologies... all the excitement has me a bit flustered. Anyway, the ship over there is... was... The Greyhound. I think the fire started when lightning struck our ship's mast, at least that's what it sounded like. But I don't know for sure since Harold and I were on guard duty in the brig when it happened. We were transporting a lot of silks and fancy stuff like that along the Dragonscale Seaway."
Everything that the sailor says is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Areleo: Most of the flames on the deck have sputtered out at this point, doused by the waves. The broken and charred remains of the mast are consistent with what you would expect from a lightning strike. On the deck, there's nothing salvageable. If you poke around a little bit longer you also find a rather large, ragged hole in the deck that looks like it was battered out from below. Is there anything else you wish to do here, or will you return to your ship with the cook?

You can see the massive form of Areleo emerging from smoking remains of the ship... and it looks like he has someone with him. Since Areleo is an expert swimmer, I won't bother making you guys roll an Athletics check to throw him a line; no matter how badly you miss he should be able to reach the line. As for getting him back onto the ship... I also won't make you roll that because you now have eight people on deck, one of whom is a hulking half-orc, who can help haul. I kind of assume that you guys pull your crewmate and the cook up.
As soon as he's on deck, the cook collapses from exhaustion.
"Thank the gods," he mutters several times, breathing in the fresh sea air. "I was sure I was going straight to Davy Jones' locker! I don't know how I can repay you all..."
Then he catches sight of the other survivors and a huge smile spreads across his face.
"Oh... Will, Harold... good to see you boys made it out!" he exclaims. "Not sure how I feel about seeing that the pirate got out in one piece to... but I guess we take what we can get, right?"

Also... everyone will probably notice that Areleo has several wounds, a few of them fairly deep. It looks like he got stabbed repeatedly by spear-wielding assailants.

I would say that Areleo would still have spearheads in him just broken off.
"Areleo has recovered the little man but no other saviors, Areleo could see. Do not worry for Areleo, Areleo is fine and ready to remove green one if necessary."

"You know, 'the green one' has a name," Yevelda says with a chuckle. "Look, I get that this looks bad, but I can assure you that I was heading for an acquittal... or at least a reduced sentence... as soon as we got to port on the basis of mitigating circumstances. I didn't start out looking for a life of piracy, I was workin' as an honest guard for various merchant vessels most of my professional life. But I ran into a spell of bad luck when Captain Hailstorm came back from the grave... after all, it isn't wise to refuse Captain Hailstorm when he offers you the choice between livin' as a pirate and going straight to Davy Jones' locker. The man is quite persuasive. And I wasn't even with that crew for more than half a year before they abandoned me. But... if ya'all want to clap me in irons then fair enough. But could ya' maybe take the old ones off first? They aren't doin' much now except giving me a rash anyway."

After being cured Areleo will grab Sayyida’s hand and come close in a whisper, “Is Sayyida knowledgeable of the arcane?”
Sayyida stared at the formidable aquan, "Arcane? Nope, not a jot."
Her head whips around at Yeveldas words, "Say again?"
"Say what again?" the half-orc asks. "Oh right... yeah, I was just sayin' that I ended up in this situation 'cuz I got forcibly 'recruited' by Captain Hailstorm."
It would stand to reason that she's probably referring to your target, Blackstone, whom you already know has been using Hailstorm's name to strike terror into his enemies.

Sayyida breathed out slowly, for a moment there she feared the old bastard had indeed risen from the grave.....and she wasn't sure she knew how to kill that which was already dead,
" Well....you rescued these two men. Seems only fair they should decide what is to be done with you......."
....especially as your a new hire and not part of my vengeance.......

Sayidda assessed the three newcomers from a distance keeping an eye out for any wreckage that could pose a risk of hull damage.
She scowls at the manacles but notes they may provide an opportunity in the future.
