"I'll take a look at those chests.," says Sae, moving over towards them. "Not as good as a Harper, but they did teach us a few things about locks and traps in my recon unit."

Sae observes the chests quickly... and nothing about them seems suspicious. Maybe the wood is a bit rotten, but that's kind of to be expected of wooden chests in a damp dungeon.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
The first one contains a number of coins (120 gp and 36 sp, to be exact), along with 2 gemstones that look like they are likely worth a decent amount of money.
The second chest is a little bit larger; as you open it you find that its contents are quite interesting... the first thing that may catch your eye is a dagger that looks like it was made from the tooth of a dragon. The second is a strange bag, and if you open it up you can see that there is much more space inside the bag than should be possible. The third is an ornate shield.
All of you who are familiar with magic can immediately determine that the three items are magical.

Maira hesitantly speaks up, "Um, if anyone would like me to look at the dagger and the shield to see if I can figure out what they can do, and where they came from, I would be more than happy to!" She studies them intently whether the others agree or not, but she will only touch them if they agree to let her. She remembers the party's distrust of her when they first met, and doesn't want to offend anyone, or stir up suspicion again.
Arcana Check: 11 to ascertain what magical properties they have
Investigation Check: 13 to notice any unusual details that might clue her in on their identity
History Check: 19 to try to tell how old they are, and from what civilization they come from
The shield looks like it is probably of Dwarvish origin, probably a few hundred years old (that is to say, it isn't exactly an ancient artifact and the creator could well still be alive). Meanwhile, the dagger is a bit harder to place... it looks rather crudely made, but it's certainly both razor-sharp and very effective. For all you know, it might have been made from the tooth of one of those undead dragons that your crew just dispatched, presumably after being slain and before being reanimated.
Maira becomes suddenly businesslike and confident in a way you have definitely never seen her before. "Alright, as nearly as I can tell, the shield is something called the sentinel shield, and people who wielded it have been said to receive strange bursts of intuition about the creatures and people they meet. From where these insights come, no one knows. The dragontooth dagger is said to have extra potency against anyone who worships Tiamat in their hearts. The blade is coated in acid as well, as you can see for yourself. The last object I am sure some of you have seen before, but it is a bag of holding, a wonderous thing that is a great deal bigger on the inside than it is on the outside, and it always weighs the same regardless of what is put into it. The shield looks to be dwarvish make; I am honestly not sure about the other things." She suddenly deflates and seems to remember her audience, mumbling, "I'm sure everyone already knew all that though...I apologize if that was too much unnecessary information." She smiles around at everyone quickly.
“Thank you for analyzing the items, I could only understand some of it though. So what we have is a magical shield of some sort, a blade that hunts dragons and a bottomless bag. Did I get that right?”
Maybe it was because Sae found that neither of the chests were trapped, but only when Arleo opened them did Emrys think about a particular rudimentary spell. It was not a thing he knew but rather something he knew about. Arcanists were to known to make use of and he always thought that the reason was mere laziness. The dungeon had taught him differently – one or another spellcasters had to handle potentially dangerous things and it was better to do so without risking the lost of a limb, or worse.
“Common, big guy.” The halfling asked the triton with a relaxed voice tone. Something strange, considering where they were. “And there is no such as too much information. Not when it comes to magic, definitely not when it comes to things in a life-threatening place.” He turns to Maira and from her to the items. “Thank you for the information and would you know the magic hand thing? I mean, Mage Hand?” It would be useful in the future, provided he remembered. “I think our resident dagger specialist is Sae. When it comes to the shield, I’m thinking either Sayyida or Wade could make use of it.” The paladin was the one martial that fought with a single-handed weapon and there was always merit in protecting one healer. “What you guys think?”
Areleo will pick up the chest of gold and place it into the bag of holding then he would grab the bag. To Emery “Areleo grows weary speaking in the surface tongue. Areleo said nothing of value.”
"There's no such thing as too much information.," Sae says to Maira reassuringly. "Thank you." She then addresses Emrys as she turns her attention to considering the items themselves.
"I am the resident dagger specialist, Captain, as you say; and that acid would be useful against creatures who are immune to the venom. But if you think it would be more useful to spread the magic daggers out so several of us have a nasty surprise to pull out as backup, then I'd also find it useful to carry around more gadgets and tricks.
And I also agree the shield's intuition would be redundant for me. If I ever get so I can't deduce more than that in the first ten seconds of an encounter withoutmagic, it'll be time to drum me out of the Taure Tavarii."
He nodded to Arleo, finding in his words an assurance that if there was ever something relevant to speak the triton would do so in a manner that everyone could understand. It was still far from the most polite thing to do and it could easily offend other people, but then again the barbarian rarely spoke during negotiations and speaking a unfamiliar tongue was tiresome – he learned that with Undercommon.
“No need to thank me, Wade. The easier it is to keep you alive the easier it is for you to keep us alive.” Likely the most honest words the warlock spoke since entering the cave. “Using spells to defend myself I learned the importance of not relying on a single damage type that is properly physical. Taking this into consideration together with the fact that the other blade specialist with a free hand is Sayyida, who already get magic slashing, I think you are the best choice.” He told waiting an answer from either of ladies. “Feel free to decide differently between yourselves and if pushes come to shove you always throw the dagger to someone needing it mid combat. Arleo, would you like to carry the bag?”
He was the strongest in the true crew, the one to which weight would mean less and the one fewer would try to steal from.
“If everything’s ready, back to march order.”
Notes: Emrys keep his suggestion about the dagger going to Sae, but admits that Sayyida would also put it to good work. The decision is between the two players. He also offers the bag to Arleo but if Arleo doesn't accept he can carry it or someone can say that not everything is ready and we discuss the situation. If everything is divided and we are ready to move we can, well, move.
Wade asks if anyone needs healing

" Chests are likely trapped, stay back from them unless you have the skill to safely open them."
She placed a hand on her chest and seawater began to well out of the gaps in her armour and clothing washing away her injuries.
" I'm ok.", she nodded to Wade.

If no one will do it, Areleo will open the chest.

The shield is a sentinel shield, and the dagger is... well... a dragontooth dagger. Though you didn't ask about it, the bag is a bag of holding.

Sayyida moved up to watch over the others while they sorted through the chests, none of it looked overly useful for herself.

( Unless there was a way of incorporating the dagger into the sword Sayyida would stick with her family blade....for reasons...)
(I am ready to move forward.)
