Then it was the muted carnival hand that caught Navi’s attention. There was something about his lack of colour that relaxed her eyes. Of course the raucous drew her attention over to the two halflings. She pets Windsongs mane as she tilts her head in curiosity. The little fairy’s eyes flick back between the them and the carnival hand.
”Why so glum, chum?” Navi blurts out to the carnival hand. “My name’s Navi. What’s yours?” She blinks a couple times. “I’m looking for the mirrors, but” She pauses and can’t help but ask. “Is there something I can help you with?”

Zeg follows after Flynn thinking about how Flynn had been turned into a raven. He wondered if he knew any spell that could do such a thing and how he might counteract it. He owndered if it was something similar to his how ability to shape shift.
The raven doesn't respond to Zeg's hailing, but surely this must be Flynn... otherwise this is very bizarre behaviour for a raven. Zeg watches as the raven swoops down at the obese clown, who at first seems very annoyed. Thaco soon gathers his wits however, and begins insulting the attacking raven.
Knock it off, bird-brain! You fly like an emu! Well at least your singing voice has improved!
Evidently Thaco is aware of the raven's true identity, and soon he begins trying to swat at Flynn as he swoops. All these antics attract the amusement of several nearby carnival-goers, who assume this is some kind of impromptu clown show, and children begin laughing and jeering at the comical sight of a grumpy clown being attacked by an indignant bird...
Zeg recalls his arcane education, and determines that Flynn's current fate is most likely the result of a Polymorph spell, and will likely last for up to an hour, unless dispelled by an appropriately powerful abjuration spell such as Dispel Magic.
Faelan
The astute and erudite Burly carefully listens to Faelan's instructions, nods and salutes, then hurries away to follow the order given. Faelan then leaps over the heads of the audience members, who barely see him in the darkness, and lands on the seat adjacent to the tiefling, which must have been saved for him (or someone). Immediately the tiefling begins half-whispering to Faelan, covering his mouth with one hand to not disturb the crowd, but with enough vocals to be heard, and Faelan once again recognises the uncanny similarity to the voice of his fellow carnival hand, Candlefoot.
Oho! I can see it in your eye. You've got a scheme to put the screw on Witch and Light, eh? Well I hope it's a good one. What's the plan? What can old Kettlesteam do to help?
Navi
Why so glum, chum?
Navi's first question is met with a simple and silent shrug of the shoulders and a weak smile. The fairy offers her name, and the young man's face lights up a little as he suddenly begins making all manner of hand gestures, all without speaking a word. It takes Navi a little bit by surprise, but she soon realises that the boy is communicating in mime. Perhaps it is part of his act!
My name’s Navi. What’s yours?
He waves at Navi. Hello? He points to himself. Me? He draws a small rectangle on his left breast. Name tag? He extends one finger and a small flame appears, which he then blows out. ...Candle? He points to one foot. Foot Hello. Me. Name. Candle. Foot. Hello, my name is Candlefoot!
The boy is delighted to see that the little fairy has deciphered his charades, and he continues to communicate in mime as Navi asks more questions...
I’m looking for the mirrors...
He points to the entrance of the Hall of Illusions, where the distressed halfling so recently fled.
...but... Is there something I can help you with?
Candlefoot shrugs again, then with a gloomy face he begins to mime once more...
He holds up two fingers and counts on them up to two. He points to the first finger...
He points to the cabinet the two halflings were standing beside, and where one is still rolling on the floor laughing uncontrollably. He mimics a hearty laugh, holding his belly, but quickly changes his expression to a look of disgust. He points to the laughing halfling on the ground and mimics crying.
(Navi can see that the cabinet contains a wooden mannequin of a grinning, raven-haired young woman in witch’s attire and a green flowing cape, hovering inside a glass cabinet. At the top of the cabinet, a sign reads “Tasha the Wizard —Known for Her Hideous Laughter.”)
Candlefoot pauses, then points at his second finger...
He jerks one thumb over his shoulder at the Hall of Illusions tent, and pulls a grimace like someone eating sour lemons, then shakes his head slowly. He draws a large frame in the air, then mimes wiping the inside as though it were filled with a sheet of glass. He then looks at/through it and preens his hair and face, turning his head away slightly but not his eyes, as though inspecting his own reflection. He looks at Navi and trembles, placing his fists to his mouth.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Navi blinks a few times, then a light bulb goes off. It may not be the right one, but it still lit. "Hey!" She taps her nose in thought a moment. Something about him felt familiar, yet she's never met him, then she remembered the beautiful singing mermaid lady. "Palasha!" Navi blurts and yammers on from memory. "She mentioned a young human who works at the Carnival, who she has fallen in love with. He has a tragic tale, from what she can tell, having had something stolen from him, but she seems to have the power to restore, at least temporarily. She believes he feels the same, and in fact is certain that he recently attempted to declare his affections for her publicly, but was unable to speak, and fled in humiliation. She could't bear the tragedy of him having now also lost his voice, and the emotion of that was just too much for her to maintain her composure throughout some heckling today..." This was a long round about thought that was eventually getting to her point. "You're miming because you lost your voice! She never said your name, but that's you Candlefoot! Is it not? A Kenku was heckling her in your lost voice! You should go see her." She nods in approval.
The little fairy blinks a few times. Right. Task at hand Navi. Task at hand! She tries to refocus after that bundle of excitement. Thinking back on the mimed sherades that Candlefoot provided post her ask if she could help him, her eyes flick from the cabinet Witch labled as Tasha, and the laughing halfling on the ground that Candlefoot mimicked crying for. Two halflings were there, one remains, and another missing. She then looks to the Hall of Illusions tent and back at Candlefoot. He was dapper and good at miming! Look at him check himself out all suave. But then he looks scared. Her head tilts as the cogs and wheels begin to turn in her head. "One of your friends is missing?" She points to the single halfling. "Did they go into the tent?" She checks if she's hot or cold on her interpretation of his communication. "You don't like the mirrors in there?" She wonders. "I can go check it out and you should go see Palasha!" She offers. "Windsong, would you like to keep watch or come with me?" The little fairy looks to the sweet mare.
Despite Zeg's alerts, the oblivious Flynn-crow presses his assault against the grouchy clown. Weaving expertly between Thaco's warding arms (who knew Flynn was so good at Fly'n) he plucks the hat off the clown's head, exposing a large bald spot, which elicits a new wave of jeers and cheers from the onlooking crowd. Then as straight as the crow flies, Flynn heads for the roof-peak of the Big Top, where he perches, overlooking the whole Carnival like a sailor from a ship's crows-nest...
Navi
Candlefoot's jaw drops and he looks dumbfounded (speechless?) at Navi's speed-summary of his life in recent times, nodding weakly in confirmation of her accuracy. Apparently there is some information in there that is new to the lad, as he looks aside thoughtfully while Navi gathers her thoughts. Then as Navi tries to make sense of the mime-game, Candlefoot responds silently:
One of your friends is missing? Did they go into the tent? He gives the 'so-so' hand gesture. You don't like the mirrors in there? A smile, a Thumbs-up, and a confirmatory shake of the head. I can go check it out and you should go see Palasha! Candlefoot smiles even wider and nods vigorously, then turns and runs toward the lake.
Then to Navi's final question, Windsong replies: I will remain here and await your return, little one. Be cautious - this attraction is feared by many of the Carnival.
The nearby halfling's laughter dies away, and the poor victim picks herself up off the ground and looks around as though lost. Windsong canters slowly in the halfling's direction and calls back to Navi: I will see to this one. You find the other...

"Ahh, ah thought that was you." Faelan starts munching on his carrot, and he looks at the south spotlight. "Ya know, if yer really wanna help, I gotta job for ya." Using the carrot, he points to the south spotlight. "Well, ah do have a little nut that I need to crack. Maybe ya can do that for me, and we all get what we want." He briefly explains his plan to turn off the spotlights at the finale. "The gentleman that mans that spotlight's name is Jack. He's a real skeptic guy, ya know. Maybe you can convince him to let you man it. When I give the signal, we all turn off the spotlights at the same time." He then looks at the Tiefling/Kettlesteam. "What da ya say?" He goes back to munch on his carrot.

“He was nice.” The little fairy smiles and waves as Candlefoot goes dashing off. She hopes he finds Palasha. “Nicer than that heckler.” She nods to herself. And with a shwoop de loop, Navi flutters over splooting into Windsong’s mane for a hug. “If you see my friends, please let them know where I buzzed off.” She flutters her wings. “Thank you Windsong.” With one last squeeze, she zips off into the tent.
Kettlesteam's tiefling eyes sparkle as Falean expounds his plan with the spotlights, responding with: Sounds delightfully devious! in Candlfoot's voice. When Faelan requests Kettlesteam's aid with Jack, the tiefling's grin turns into a smirk. Then before Faelan's eyes the most unsettling scene unfolds. The tiefling suddenly starts to transform; the nose and mouth enlongates, the ears rise to the top of the head and grow long and fuzzy, whiskers spring out, the hips widen, the feet grow to enormous proportions, and the clothing even changes... until Faelan is looking at an exact copy of himself! And if that wasn't strange enough, the Faelan-copy opens its mouth, and without any movement of the lips or tongue, a sound issues forth: it is every word that Faelan has spoken while with the kenku, in extreme speed, but with the most precise inflection. It is as though Faelan's voice had been magically recorded and then replayed at high speed:
Kettlesteam closes her harengon mouth, looks at Faelan, and then at normal speed and with normal mouth movement, completes the final phrase: What da ya say?
Then without waiting for a reply from the dumbfounded Faelan, the Faelan-copy shuffles out of the row of seating and toward the south spotlight...
Navi
Navi enters the tent, and immediately notices the noise from the outside crowds has been silenced. Indeed, there is almost no sound at all, apart from the pitter-patter of Navi's beating heart. The lack of sound augments the eerie sight that greets Navi's eyes: a long row of tall mirrors, all facing the wall of the tent, forming a one-way corridor that curves out of sight.
Navi can't help but look into the first mirror, as it faces her directly. The image within is certainly familiar as one would expect, but something is not right, and it takes the little fairy a moment to notice. Are her eyes playing tricks on her, or was the reflection like that all along? Navi is looking at a reflection of herself, but only as a teeny-tiny baby fairy!
The next mirror is similar... as Navi's eyes focus on the image, it seems to resolve gradually until Navi isn't sure if it changed before her eyes, or if it was there all along and she just couldn't see it. It is again a tiny version of herself, but this time a teensy bit older. It soon becomes obvious that each mirror in turn displays a reflection of the viewer at a slightly later age or time of life...
I'll leave it to you to describe what Navi looks like as a baby/child/etc... and then we will see what happens after that.

Zeg flies after Flynn and when he catches up to him if he can't safely land next to him he'll fly in a tight circle around him.
"You'll be like that for about an hour. But if you let someone punch you hard enough the raven form probably will fall away and you will return to normal. I'm not strong enough to do that. We need to find the others. It's time for the Big Top Extravaganza. The others probably went there. If not, the portal to the fairie realm is in the Hall of Illusions. We can head there also. But there is a password. We'll need to get it from Witch and Light. But I think I've got some leverage to do so. Let's get going."
Navi quirks her head, almost floating in place as she reflects upon her own reflection. There was little teeny baby Navi with her big ol’ head, wide vibrant eyes filled with innocence, the warmest light that shimmered from her skin, and her itty bitty little wings. She eventually grew in proportion to her head, but it were her wings that took longest to grow in. As a child her skin shone it’s most vibrant and her eyes brimmed with whimsy and curiosity for the world around her. She was swift when she learned to walk and always knew where she was going… Adolescence is when she had braces and discovered her love for colour. It was her teens when she’d expressed herself with colour and piercings, and finally grew into her wings. Not once did she look at a loss, for she always knew what direction she wanted to take in life.
After recovering from the shock, Faelan makes his way to his post. Once there he greets Luz and tells her his plans. "Trust me little one, ah ain't crazy."

Flynn stares at Zeg as though listening to every word with rapt attention, but then simply cocks his head and caws again. It's one thing to study these spells from a school book, but seeing them in action is another matter entirely....
(Thanks for pointing that out someredshirt. If Flynn had responded to Zeg I wouldn't have thought twice, but RPing as a raven is much better!)
----------------------------
Navi continues along the line of mirrors, which continue to extend along the silent corridor, slowly curving as they follow the interior wall of the tent in an anti-clockwise direction. The image in the reflection continues to grow older, until it resembles Navi as she is now. But the row of mirrors stretches on and on ahead, and it feels like she still has a long way to go...
----------------------------
Glancing around, Faelan can see dimly to the tops of the other lighting towers, where the other hands remain waiting - presumably - for Faelan's signal... whatever that might be. The south tower is the furthest, and Faelan can only just make out the figure there... it appears to be Jack! But of course! Kettlesteam would have once again transformed her appearance after taking Jack's place.
The performances on the arena floor continue, with gasps, cheers and laughs from the audience at all the usual moments. The fire-and-frost-breathers are now performing their impressive combat-display, and next up the faerie dragons with bright streamers tied to their tails will dazzle with their acts of synchronized flying. Shortly after that will come the moment when Mr Light will invite any members of the audience who wish to perform their own impromptu acts for the crowd, followed by the Grand Finale...

Navi

Frustration crosses Zeg's face. "You don't understand me at all, so not the same as what I do." He mumbles to himself. He then sighs heavily.
He then casts Speak with Animals and then tries again.
"Hey Raven Flynn, follow me. When 10 feet from ground just fall and crash. Nod if you understand."
If he does he'll fly off and find an open area near the big top and then yell to Flynn when they are 10 feet off of the ground.
"Now, fall and crash!"
