"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Gavin will step inside the room, keeping the stairs between him and the golems using them as cover. If no reaction he will get behind the stairs so they are unable to see him
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mirabel eyes the flying seal pups. "I don't think those little ones will be much concern to us. I'm more worried about the increasing number of golems."
He looks up at the giant cube. "I wonder if they are controlled in some way from up there."
((Since today is Mub's usual offline day, and the party seems to want to go up to the top as well, I'll just describe the scene for the whole party.))
The two skull-headed suits of armor do not seem to notice as the awkward bird-man takes to the air and lands on the stone walk-way at the top of the spiral stairs. Cautiously, the party begins their own ascent up the stairs nearest them, hoping to avoid the attention of the working creatures as well. It's a little slow going, but you seem to manage your way to the top without incident and the Storm Seals above do not seem particularly interested at the moment either. From up here there is a lot to take in. At the top of your platform, and near the three other corners of the stone as well, sits a glass orb attached to a metal pole. Inside the glass orb closest to you, a strange double fist-sized cauliflower-shaped gemstone glows faintly with a magical radiance at its center. From your vantage point, you're pretty sure the other orbs hold a similar prize. You feel an almost overwhelming sense of calmness radiating from the orb nearest you that evens your breathing and takes any edge off your current feelings.
For Gavin
Your detect magic spell shows an aura of enchantment magic laced through the strangely shaped gemstone.
There are two doorways leading out of this upper area. The one closest to you has water streaming down it and over the edge of the platform to the floor below. It is most likely the source of the water in the flooded tunnels you traveled through earlier. The other door on the far end stands unexplored and inviting. What you notice when you look over there, however, is the wooden planks laid out along the stone in a sort of makeshift manner leading to a gigantic horned skull, easily as tall as some of you that sits near the center of the huge black monolithic stone.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
From what you can tell, the giant cube itself seems more like a magical battery of sorts, and an overcharged one at that, than any sort of control system for the suits of armor. If they are connected in some way, you can't tell it from what you have seen or understand so far. However, you are reasonably sure that all of this massive magical power is what is attracting the Storm Seals to this location from their usual habitat in the clouds.
To answer Gavin's question the stone you have seems to be a broken off piece of this gigantic rock.
For Gavin:
((You are too far away from the skull to tell. You'd basically have to either step out onto the stone or go around to the wooden plank walk-way to be sure.))

Gavin will take one of the nails he picked up and toss it to the center of the cube to see if there is a reaction. He lets his friends first know so we are on alert to either react quickly or dash to the nearest doorway if we are attacked
As the nail nears the surface of the cube, a small bolt of multi-colored energy arcs from the dark stone and seems to vaporize the small nail. Not even rusted remains land on it.

“I guess we should head thru the nearest door to explore more of this place. Obviously we won’t be walking on the unprotected cube or we all may end up with more than some fantastic tattoos.” says Gavin while smirking at Kathra
Heading over to the doorway, you see a short hall that leads to a spiral staircase that seems to rise up to the outside. The heavy rains pouring down into the exposed structure meet to form the small stream of water that cascades down the stairs and to the ground below.

The wet stairs spiral around up to an opening in the hillside and the storms above. Off to the right you see the river that you know cascades over the side of the hill as a waterfall down to the gathered pond below. It looks like a long time ago there was more of a tower here, but it has mostly collapsed into the hill and have been reclaimed by mud and grass over the years. You think the more recent rains might have caused a mudslide nearby that has unearthed this previously closed opening.

After Peren comes down and gives the all clear I would like to go up and take a look while my detect magic is still active. ((About how much longer do I have by the way? I would like to keep recasting via ritual when possible))
((I would say it's a good 60ft cube.))
(does it look as if mub can fly up on top of it ?)
((Sure, the cavern is a pretty open design, with a high ceiling and nothing physically stopping you from flying to the top of the catwalk and beyond if you so choose.))
Mub goes for it and perches up on a catwalk.
Gavin will step inside the room, keeping the stairs between him and the golems using them as cover. If no reaction he will get behind the stairs so they are unable to see him
Kathra watches Mub fly off and sighs. "Well, I guess we're going up, huh?"

“Mirabel, is that fragment you have reacting to this place in any way?”

Peren agrees, we should head towards the nearest door.
Heading over to the doorway, you see a short hall that leads to a spiral staircase that seems to rise up to the outside. The heavy rains pouring down into the exposed structure meet to form the small stream of water that cascades down the stairs and to the ground below.
Peren will sneak up the stairs and try to see what is at the top
Sneak = 18
That should be 16 instead of 14
I have +7 to stealth not +5

Peren relays the message above to the party
