Kathra sighs. "I hate to say it, but you're probably right. Best to stare them in the face - and maybe I'll be wrong about them. Wouldn't be the first time."
((Okay, so what is the plan for the day. You have several options before you; heading over to the Krakhal Clan hall, maybe exploring the town some more, heading over to the Watchtower where you heard you could find Old Bhaerny, or scouting around the forests and hills outside of town. I just need to know who is heading where.))

((Anyway, spoke with Mub tonight and he is changing his plan to "wander around town and try to notice things," so for now I'll assume Peren is wandering with him to keep something of a buddy system going as we move to the next scene.))
For the party:
With your morning meals settled and a plan in place, you leave the Harper & Goblet and head up Rockmount's main road towards the center of town. As you head north you notice that the roads, while thick with mud, are rather bustley in the grey morning light. Various townsfolk and travelers move about from building to building on their daily tasks. As you come to the first main intersection, you see a handful of people filtering in and out of a building to your right. It is a simple long building with a sign out front that reads "Arlan's Outfitters." To the left the road stretches a ways and you can see a looming temple-like structure several stories high not a few houses away. Up ahead to the north, the road widens a bit and you can see a stone tavern-like building with several dwarven sized individuals wandering in and out of its doors. Out front there is what looks to be an art installation of sorts that depicts a large orcish skull cast in bronze with a similarly bronzed axe embedded in it. Off in the distance behind the tavern you see the rising shape of what is likely to be the watchtower you've heard about. To your left down the long road, you spot several dwarven citizens heading into a large building of finely crafted stone and metal. It seems to be built into the side of the rising mountainous hill behind it and seems like the most obvious of dwarven clan holds. Out front, three dwarves in full armor and oiled cloaks stand guard, giving a terse nod or quick word to whoever passes by into the building.
Getting a quick sense of the town from your short walk up the main road, you estimate that this place is a good 60% dwarven with the rest being mostly humans and the occasional gnome or halfling.
Steeling yourselves, you head west down the long road towards the Krakhal clan hold. Mixing in with the crowd of other dwarves heading towards the entrance, you are stopped by one of the three guards, a burly looking dwarf in dull steel armor and a braided beard peaking out beneath the oil-cloak hood that frames his face. Giving your crew a quick scan, he seems to light on Kathra with very little effort. "Ain't seen you 'round here b'fore. Them's some curious marking you have on you. What clan do you hail from and what's yer business with the Krakhals?"
For Mub:
For a time you stare fascinated by the bronzed art object in front of the large wooden building wondering if maybe your dragonborn friend would find its metals to his liking. When you eventually look up however, you find yourself mysteriously alone on the street, not quite sure where your erstwhile companions have gone. Blinking each eye in turn , you resolve to head north towards the looming watchtower. If nothing else, it would be a high place you could use to seek your friends from. As you trudge up to the tower, you see a couple of dwarves in dull steel plate talking to another, older dwarf wearing what look to be finer clothes and decked out in various jewels and trinkets.
Kathra stands up slightly straighter. "I am Kathra of clan Torunn, of the Storm Horn mountains. My compatriots and I come seeking an audience to discuss work and the rumors of troubles in this region." She pauses for a moment before adding, "The tattoos are a souvenir of a previous adventure."
As you walk up to the trio of dwarves, the one in the finer clothes finishes up his conversation with the other two. "Have Bhaerny keep me apprised of any further developments." He says, turning and brushing past you as the armored dwarves nod in assent and he walks away. You notice a bit of unusual warmth radiating from a stone hanging from around his neck. At you fix upon it with one of your glassy eyes, you notice that it is very angular in nature, and appears to be made up of various smaller shapes like a bismuth stone, but black in coloration.
Example:
The two remaining dwarves look at you as you sort of stare at them with your glassy gaze, muttering soft "qhys" under your breath. Both of them look to each-other as if daring the other one to speak first and assist you. Finally, the one on the left, the taller of the two with a rich black beard, clears his throat and says "Can I....help you?"
For Kathra (and everyone else):
The burly dwarf sizes you up with his gaze and gives a look reminiscent of one you'd probably give to a country cousin. You can't quite tell if it borders between charming or patronizing. "Clan Torunn, eh? Well if it's talking you and your band are here to do then you'll want to speak to the requisitionist, Duff." Looking you all over again, he points to your weapons. "You'll want to be leaving those at the desk inside. The wards don't take kindly to outsiders being armed in the hold."
With that, he points towards the open doorway to the hold. From out here you see that it opens into a large room with a main desk manned by what look like three or four clansmen who seem to be guiding others filtering in around you towards various hallways and offices.

Kathra, who at least can do the dwarven formalities well enough, bows slightly. "Our thanks." She motions to the others to follow her into the hold and approaches the desk with the air of someone who knows what they're doing... probably.
Gavin follows Kathra to the desk. He is feeling a bit anxious about being separated from his sword Gugnir, but knows he has no choice in the matter. Additionally, he is impressed with Kathra, “You sound very dignified when you put your mind to it my friend. You could have a future in politics” as he gives her a slap on the shoulder with a wide smile.
As you walk up to a receiving area and place your weapons in the box next to the counter ((Slight of Hand rolls for those who would like to keep any particular weapons on them, just roll for the weapon and let me know what weapon you may be secreting away)), you are greeting by a dwarven lady in fine clothes with a warm smile and small gemstones braided into her beard. "Welcome to Clan Krakhal's Hold. My name is Shale. How may I assist you this morning?"

Kathra sighs and turns toward the clan halls. "Alright, let's get this over with."
Mub makes his way to the north end of town and see what going on.
Just walking to places and see where and what ever thing is at fist.
Gavin falls in behind her, “Go to your happy place Kathra.” he jokes
Peren laughs at Gavin's joke, and says "I will be be right behind you"

Mub head shacks as if there is old rusted cogs trying to tick.
He then walk up to the dwarves letting out one of his qhys so they know he walks to talk.
