Zotar nodded in response to his brothers advice, "Yes Ammom.."
Zotar pulled a small book from his pack and began thumbing through it, until he found a blank page near the middle. He then pulled a thin piece of charcoal from another pouch and began to sketch the warrior woman who stood among the group. She had caught his eye with the glint from her shield, and now his mind wandered. Who was she, where was she from, why was she among the group gathered here today?
"Do you know any of the others?" Zotar said quietly not looking up from his sketch but for a few seconds to reacquaint himself with the sight of the woman.
I glance over to the others in the group and do a quick survey. “You see that elf over there? The one that’s already lost his pack? I remember seeing him around the shoppe. I think his name is Fen. He supposed to be a wizard and an apprentice to Dr Omzig, though I’m not sure how.” I shake my head, “seems to be a little absent minded.... sure like to know what valuables are in there. Seems like the type that would easily misplace his coin pouch.”
Seldor greets the siblings that have now approached him. “My name is Seldor. How do the three of you know the Doctor?”
"We actually don't. This is our first time meeting him. Thurston and I just finish our studies at the temple here in Brixtonia. We were here to minister assistance to the area including the Doctor's residence and shop. The Doctor requested that we help along this journey. And so here we are."
"Oh. Well I used to be a student of the professor for a little while when I was younger. He wasn't a bad teacher, it was just that reading books for hours and hours was not the way I learn magic. So I left."
"I see." He nods to Seldor. "You're more of the hands on experience. Completely understandable." He looks at Runa suddenly. "Oh thanks for accompanying us. I appreciate the help and I'm sure your brother does too." He pats Thurston on the back. "I'm sure you can keep us both out of trouble." He chuckles.
Runa snorts as well, but whether it’s in agreement with Aydrik or in response to Diangar is anyone’s guess.
“Keep you out of trouble?” Runa shakes her head at Diangar and grins at Thurston. Then she lowers her head and mock-whispers to Seldor, “No, I plan to get them into trouble. It’ll be good for them.”
Runa casts a glance toward the Halfling brothers, narrowing her eyes briefly at Zotar. Then she shifts her attention to where Sarro and Fen seem to be locked in an awkward, mutually anxious moment. The smile Runa aims at Fen and Sarro softens into something resembling kindness, although there remains a mirthful glint in her eyes.
“You work for this doctor?” Runa asks Fen as she strolls toward him and Sarro. She nods toward Fen’s recently-recovered pack. “So what kind of interesting things do you have in those notes of yours?”
Hearing a female voice from over his shoulder, Fen turns to look at her. Seeing the human female "I am sorry I did not get your name. I am Fenlamin Aloro, as far as my notes go." You see his eye almost glaze over as if in a trance. "Sor sor sorry, my notes are mostly on other races and different cultures. I like to learn about the different people of our world." He then begins to rummage thru his pack as if looking for something. He then closes the flap and secures it.
A tallish, slimish, humanish man comes strolling towards the barn. He wears black and gray striped trousers, one black shoe and one brown boot. He has a white ruffled shirt with flared cuffs, a purple string tie and a pair of red suspenders. His face is clean shaven and long black curls dangle from beneath his top hat. A tan duster coat that looks too hot for the weather completes his ensemble. This is Doctor Manx Omzig. He saunters past waving and nodding to all as he approaches the double doors to the barn. He knocks three times on the right door, then four on the left, six more to the right of the right door and three times to the left of the left door. He whistles and spits then lets out a loud "HARUMPH!" The doors to the barn slowly swing outward and open. He ducks in quickly then immediately pokes his head back out. "Please, come inside of course!"
In the center of the barn is a tarp covering a large rectangular object about five feet by five feet and eight feet high. Two bugbears stand unflinching on either side of the object. Dr Omzig stands in front of the object and spreads his upturned palms. He gives a warm smile. "Thank you all for coming my friends. I suppose that by now you're all wondering exactly why you're here, so... questions?"
OOC: I promised Friday morning but I will be quite busy. Rather than failing to deliver or delay, I'll get started tonight!

Beign the first time he sees the famous Dr. Omzing Thurston can’t help raise an eyebrow. Certanly one can’t judge by appearances if that is one of the most powerful, influential and rich person. He shrugs his shoulders while they follow the man inside the barn. If one is so rich can be as eccentric as he wants.
Sarro, having seen the Dr. on a few occasions during their deliveries is not taken aback by his odd appearance. He walks up to him and says: "It is good to see you again Dr. Omzig, Michal sends his greetings, and bids me to assist you in any way I can. What assistance do you require of this intrepid group and I?"
Zotar is not the least surprised by Dr. Omzig's attire, he had after all supped, entertained, and partied with the most elite and thus eccentric the lands had to offer. However once inside the barn, he was surprised to find Bugbears in Omzig's employ. He turned his head and covered his mouth so as to speak to Ammom without prying eyes reading his lips and whispered, "This is the man you have indebted yourself to?"
Runa lifts her hands in a warding gesture as her simple question inspires a flurry of anxious activity from Fen. Before Runa can assure Fen that his pack full of notes is safe from her, Dr. Omzig makes his entrance. She watches the doctor’s antics with raised eyebrows, and then her semi-permanent smirk quirks a little higher.
“Oh, this is going to be fun,” Runa states to anyone who’s still outside to hear her.
As she follows Dr. Omzig into the barn along with the others, Runa is struck by a sudden certainty that she’s supposed to have some kind of ticket. A golden ticket, maybe. While the others ask their questions, she saunters up closer but off to the side, eyeballing the bugbears and trying to get a glimpse of whatever’s under the tarp.
The big human looks at his sister and make some gestures to tell her to come back and stay put. He tries to do it unnoticed, but the whole room can see him moving his hands and his lips saying “Come back” without uttering aword.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ammom
as Dr Omzig approaches the barn, I stand up to gather with the rest of the group. I stand with my brother off to the side of the others. I say nothing until we are inside. Still standing off to the side I try to eye what’s under the tarp.
”Thats him,” I reassure Zotar. “I was the same as you when I first met him, but if you need something he’s the man to talk to. Either he can do it or find someone that can. Although, the latter has never been needed.”
I step forward a step. “As you know my profession Doctor, this seems to be a little out of my wheelhouse considering the amount of heavy armor you have assembled. What is it exactly you plan for us? I also can’t help but wonder how we are to get around. I did not see any beast of burden readied for travel.”
I look around my surroundings. Is there anything laying around the barn of value or looks magical? Perception: 18
From the corner of her eye, Runa witnesses Thurston trying desperately to get her attention. Since that was pretty much the reaction she was hoping for, she just smiles a little more and keeps doing what she's doing. It's not like she's even touching anything, after all. She's just looking.
Aydrik
Aydrik snorts at this, but says nothing, avoiding looking at Thurston.
And that's all I have to say about that.
