as Dr Omzig approaches the barn, I stand up to gather with the rest of the group. I stand with my brother off to the side of the others. I say nothing until we are inside. Still standing off to the side I try to eye what’s under the tarp.
”Thats him,” I reassure Zotar. “I was the same as you when I first met him, but if you need something he’s the man to talk to. Either he can do it or find someone that can. Although, the latter has never been needed.”
I step forward a step. “As you know my profession Doctor, this seems to be a little out of my wheelhouse considering the amount of heavy armor you have assembled. What is it exactly you plan for us? I also can’t help but wonder how we are to get around. I did not see any beast of burden readied for travel.”
I look around my surroundings. Is there anything laying around the barn of value or looks magical? Perception: 12
The only thing in the barn is the tarp covered object and the two bug bears.

The Doctor looks around smiling then stops, looking up puzzled by something. "Well... I suppose I haven't told you a damn thing have I? Allow me to introduce you to my grandest invention!"He turn and waves a hand to the bugbears who pull away the tarp, revealing the object beneath; a privy, an outhouse. A beautiful outhouse of highly polished walnut and curly maple wood. Trimmed in copper and bronze, covered in gears, wheels and pipes. "My friends, I give you the POT! The Plane Oscillating Transporter, my grandest invention! If the damn thing worked!"

When the bugbears hauled the tarp off the fancy outhouse, Runa stepped back. Although she grinned at Seldor's remark, she then narrowed her eyes and made a casual little "just-one-second" motion with one hand as she added her question to the mix.
"Back it up a second, doc. Could we get some clarification on the part where you said, 'IF the damn thing worked'?"
"It doesn't work?" The Doctor stares off into a far upper corner of the barn, seemingly frozen for a moment. "It doesn't work but it will work!" He opens the door and steps into the POT. "Come and have a look everyone." When you approach the door it looks like a privy with a bench and a hole, but when you enter you find yourself in a large round room. The room is covered in windows and you can clearly see the inside of the barn. In the center of the room is an ornate copper table covered in sockets holding various gems. Finery and comfortable furnishing appoint the room. There is a hatch in the floor with a ladder going down to a cargo hold filled with food, water and supplies. The Doctor directs your attention to an empty slot in the center of the table. He pokes his finger into the socket. The doctor seems a little more together inside the POT. "This is the problem. I had a prismatic crystal to place in this final socket. My old friend and nemesis, my frenemis, Baron Orock took advantage of my present... weakened state. We were playing our weekly card game, that I always win, and he lured me into wagering my crystal. He cheated and won. I'm not mad mind you! He cheated me fair and square, but I cannot activate the POT without that crystal. I offered to buy it back for 100,000 gold. It isn't worth more than 200 gold, but he refuses to sell it. To him it's a symbol, a trophy of his only victory over me. Get it for me. By any means possible. If you can recover the crystal I'll give you the 100,000 gold. That's 11111.1111111 gold each and I'll round that up to 12,000 gold each!"
Runa wanders about the POT's interior with everyone else, running a hand appreciatively over the fine furnishings. She's idly wondering what interesting kinds of supplies might be in the cargo hold as she listens to Dr. Omzig's spiel. As the doctor wraps up, however, Runa narrows her eyes and speaks in an aside to Aydrik, since he exhibited signs of common sense skepticism earlier. "What is it they say about things that seem too good to be true?"
Runa gives Dr. Omzig a closer looking-over, paying particular attention to his facial expression and body language, trying to decide how much of what he's saying is the truth.
I step forward as this sounds like the exact thing I am most capable of doing. ”Where can this Baron Orock be found? Judging by this outfit of hired muscle, he must have a decent amount of security trying to keep it. But then again Doctor, anything taken can be recovered with the right tools and a good plan.” I pause for a moment and motion to my tools on my belt. “Now I know I owe a hefty debt on these tools and for good reason. These are the finest tools I have ever seen, but a mission like this can be unpredictable. Unpredictable is dangerous. You think there is anything you can possibly add to these tools to make them a little more.... predictable? I would hate to be at the lock box where this uh.... prismatic crystal is and unable to open the box.” Obviously the crystal is worthless compared to the amount the Doctor is willing to pay for pride. Pride is such a down fall for so so many poor souls...... and then they’re riches become mine.
"Michal has told me to help you anyway I can Doctor, but he also has taught me to know my enemy." Sarro says. "But he also taught me to know my enemy. What can you tell us of this Baron Orock? what is he like?"
Runa's Insight Check: The Doctor is not lying, of that you're certain, but something is off. He's a bit unnatural? Ammom's Persuasion Check: The Doctor takes your tools and lays them on the table. He spread his fingers and you watch as a green energy forms around the tools. The energy lasts several minutes then fades. He hands you back the tools with a wink and a smile.

I take the tools back into my hand. “Thank you Doc. No need to worry about Baron Orock holding the crystal for much longe. I know these will get the job done when it comes to it.” I want to see if I can tell what happened with the tools before I reattach them to my belt.

Zotar
This Dr. Omzig was definitely a treat, and the inside of the POT show that even moreso. "It's bigger on the inside" Zotar quietly said to himself as he began thinking about what the Doctor was asking. If this Baron Orock was enemies to the Doctor, and the Doctor was powerful enough to create this, they would surely be in for an adventure. It made chill run down his spine as he thought of the power this Baron might possess. Even as his brother secured even more magic from the Doctor, Zotar poured through his memories trying to remember anything about this Baron.
((OOC: History: 16 (Have I heard of this Baron Orock? Could I possibly leverage my upbringing as a Courtier to gain advantage on this check?)))
”So...” he says cautiosly “ You want us to recover that stone that he won over you cheating, a stone worth less than 200 gold, and pay us as much as 12.000 gold for it... if it was so precious to you... why gamble it in the first place? I am pretty sure that you have tons of things that you could have gamble with instead..”
Diangar listens carefully to the Doctor and follows behind the group. After the Doctor explains the situation and the payout at the end, Diangar feels a tad bit uneasy. "By any means necessary." He looks around at the other individuals hoping that the group would go about getting crystal with a just manner. He continues to listen.
