“Well Doctor, if gambling is his vice, does he ever host any games at his residence? That would be an easy in if we arrived as players willing to lose a good amount of money. We can’t necessarily go in a wager for the crystal we shouldn’t know he has. But stealing the crystal while the game is ongoing would be a decent distraction. Any idea where he would keep this stone? By the sounds of it, you’re part of the stone. Is there anyway you can tell where it is?”
"He hosts fights and games daily He won't be hard to find. His mansion is huge, the crystal could be anywhere, but my guess is that he keeps it close."
Diangar raises his hand. "Excuse me Doctor." He steps forward. "My name is Diangar, and Thurston and I are here from the temple in Brixtonia. Your shop is nearby, correct? I was wondering if I can browse your wares. I heard so much of your shop. And I would like to see it myself. That's if we have time."
“Any invitation needed to join or visit the fights or games? I’ve spent a lot of time at the temple lately, and never heard about it, so if some kind of reference or invitation is needed we should go by other path, one that didn’t point at you Sir” says Thurston.

"Thurston, the kind of people who frequent the Baron's games, rarely frequent the temples! If the Baron thinks you've got something to wager that he can win... well then you're in!"

"I think we need to make our way to the Baron's place and have a look around. I do not think we will have a problem getting in. Staying for a while may be a different problem altogether."

"Yes indeed good cleric! Shall we adjourn to the shop?" The Doctor leads you all out of the barn, across the compound and into another building. The further you get from the barn the more awkward he becomes. His gait becomes erratic and he becomes twitchy. At the door of the other building he does another series of knocks. A gnome in coveralls opens the door and you enter. About a dozen gnomes and few humans work at a long series of tables. The gnome looks at the Doctor and clears his throat. "Yes... um... Fizzworth will take care of you from here.. I will... maybe... um... use the pot. Hahahaha... not the pot but... the POT... yes I'll be in the POT." The Doctor bumbles away. Fizzworth the gnome looks to you all. "Well then I hope you see how desperate this situation is! You must get that crystal before the Baron realizes the situation. If he finds out what's going on here he'll come and clean us out then sell the POT technology to the highest bidder. It mustn't fall into the wrong hands!"

Fen doesn't know anything beyond the Doctor being a card player and an occasional gambler. The Baron has probably never even been to the Doctor's compound.
Diangar gestures a hello to the gnome. "Hello. My name is Diangar." He looks at the Dr. Omzig. "Thank you for your hospitality. And may I ask a favor? Seeing how we are on this venture for you, if we are to purchase your items from your shop, could you perhaps make it an advance? Whatever I may 'purchase' could you just remove it from the end payout?" He smiles and stands in front of door looking left and right at all the interesting items in his shop. He searches for anything that would help him with his interest in being an herbalist. Besides the divine arts of healing, Diangar has always wanted to learn and master other methods of healing. Let it being a potion or a great home cooked meal.
OCC: May I have a description of what it looks like in the shop?

The shop is not really a store where they sell things, it's a workshop. They work on Dr Omzig's inventions and build custom projects for customers. The shop is a building about 40' by 80' with long wooden tables loaded with steel and copper bits and parts, various crystals and gems, tools and supplies. At least a dozen gnomes are busy hammering and tinkering all around. A few human workmen are also milling about doing various tasks.
The Doctor listens to Diangar before he exits. "I have exactly what you need! No charge!"The doctor moves to a shelf and brings back a bag containing several items and hands it to Diangar. "TO THE POT!" he proclaims loudly and quickly ducks out without any further words.

In the workshop, Runa browses, eyeing the bits and pieces on the tables with interest, but she keeps her hands to herself.
To the rest of the party, Runa says, “I’ll throw my vote in with those suggesting we get ourselves into this fancy mansion and have a look around. I’m not sure we should go in one big group, though. Seems like that would draw too much attention.”
Runa glances around.
“I’m going to assume one or two of us have a knack for sneaking into places they’re not supposed to be. Like someone said, maybe they can look for the gem once we’re inside? You…” Runa nods toward Zotar. “Zotar, is it? You look like you’re used to navigating social niceties. While the others are sneaking around, maybe you and a couple others should take that diapphire the good doctor gave us to gamble with and see if you can make this Baron drool a little?”
Runa’s semi-permanent smirk returns.
“I’m afraid I’m not much good at either sneaking or being charming. I can do a fair imitation of a bodyguard, however. How about it—you need a bodyguard, Zotar?”
"I've had a bit of training in arts of stealth. Perhaps if we were to act as servants, coachmen or something that would not be needed we could sneak around and scout out the place."Sarro looks around, "anyone else? I must warn you though, my master said I did not have the soul for deception.. How did he put it.... oh yes a dead man could lie more convincingly than I."
Zotar feels his face warm a bit as Runa addresses him, but he suppresses it quickly, "Yes, I am Zotar brother to Ammom, you are correct in your assumption m'lady. I am an entertainer, and well versed in the ways of the upper class. Although it would seem we have several that can perform that role here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ammom
While in the shop, I want to look for anything that looks expensive or mysterious and try to steal it for myself. I walk around tables picking up various things and putting them back until I get a good opportunity to pocket something. I think to myself, “seems the old Doc has plenty and won’t miss this. Might help save his life in some round about way.”

"Is it really necessary to steal from the doctor when he's already promised so much?" Aydrik asks quietly.
And that's all I have to say about that.
