Essendrum bleeds quietly outside the door. If Kiana can see him from her angle, he is clearly an old human scholar with a collection of gear suggesting he practices wizardry. If he should expire, his companions will no doubt regale her with touching stories of the old codger at the impromptu funeral here in the bowels of the city which is likely all that will mark his passing. If she examines his spell books she will find them written in obscure languages and cyphers, although she may piece together enough to learn he made a particular study of that most arcane and pure form of magic, abjuration. But, of course, none of that will matter. Oh, the tragedy!

Enoch suffers a claw and bite attack from the Troll and the severed hand grabs onto Enoch's leg and squeezes hard, for a total of 18h.p. of damage to the paladin.

Essendrum’s eyelids flutter open and he finds himself lying against the door frame on stones slick with his own blood. Enoch and Spike struggle with a massive troll above him and for a moment he merely gapes, struggling to understand where his is. Then it comes back to him. He places one hand and then the other upon his staff and pushes himself to his feet.
The paladin shrugged off the claw and bite, doing his best to appear stoic and unflinching despite feeling his health waning. It was then that he looked down to see the severed arm lash out at him!
Grasping onto a wound on the adventurer's calf, the limb squeezed; and while he might have been able to shake everything else off long enough to drink a potion and recover, the pain from the creatures unholy strength nearly caused Enoch to scream out. He managed to stifle the outcry to a sharp groan as he finally collapsed.
After the Troll attacks, everyone is in a flurry of movement. Enoch falls under the onslaught of the Trolls attacks. Essendrum suddenly revives and launches a bolt of flame at the Troll. Upon contact, the Troll bursts into flames. It screams and staggers around but is still up. Kiza makes short work with the shackles on Kiana, freeing the woman. Kiana's actions? Top of the next round: Spike swings his tankard with enraged accuracy, hitting the creature twice. The Troll stiffens on the last strike and falls to the ground like a felled tree, its body continues to burn.
The 3 Troglodytes that were running up to the party stop once the Troll falls. They exchange looks with one another. The human behind them turns and runs east, disappearing around a corner.

Spike:
Still raging, Spike charges any foes that are sticking around. At this point he appears to be attacking with a flaming troll arm that seems to have gotten speared on one of his forearm armor spikes.
(If the Trogs are staying, he attacks the closest one, if they run off, he will stand down and stay with the rest of the party).
"Thank you, brave.. roguish bird person. I am truly in your debt." Rushing closer to the doorway to get a better view of what's going on, Kiana spots a dying Enoch. She mutters back to Kiza, "I'm going to go ahead and assume you're friends with the motley crew and not the stinky monsters." Through the doorway, she shouts, "By the dawn, Rise!" A holy golden light envelops the heap of paladin on the floor beyond the doorway, making cuts melt into unblemished skin and bringing Enoch back from the brink of death.
With the most urgent part of her debt repaid and the combat seemingly having calmed down to just one very pissed off dwarf, Kiana's next priority is her stuff. She runs over to the pile on the floor that has all of her belongings and rifles through it, making sure all of the important stuff is there. She rapidly secrets a few small things away into her robe, though she doesn't seem to make any effort to hide her flanged mace as she reclaims it.
The cleric's third priority is still collapsed inside of the cage next to her own. She walks over to the bars of the cage and taps the metal a few times with her mace. "Hey Dral, wake up! There's company!"

Once freed by Kiza, Kiana feels her connection with the Morning Lord's Light and calls upon it to heal Enoch. She crosses the room and finds her possessions in a pile along the east wall. She calls out to Dralbut the only response is a slight painfilled moan from the other cell.
Kiana looks down at the 1-eyed 1/2 orc lying face down on a small pile of hay in the cell. He has been like this for a couple of days, since the Trogs brought him back from Gods knows where. When he returned he was dumped into his cell, all but a loincloth on and several slashes across his back that are now oozing and puss-filled. Kiana knows that a Thayvian wizard was curious about something but when she couldn't provide any answers, so the wizard turned his attention to Dral. Kiana is not sure how long she and Dral have been down here but she knows it has been more than a week.
Outside the room. Enoch returns to the land of the living! Weak but, with time &/or magic, he will heal. Spike, equipped with the flaming arm of a dead Troll, rushes up and attacks the nearest Troglodyte, killing the creature with two quick swipes of the arm. Gripped with Fear the other 2 Troglodytes turn and flee, leaving a noxious cloud of fumes that surround Spike. (make a CON Save DC 12 or become sick) Essendrum, physically weak from the Troll's attacks, watches the creature being consumed by the flames, ensuring it does not rise again. DM: The opposition has fled, for now, and it would appear you have found the very person you were seeking. What do you do now?
Enoch gasped as his eyes flew open. It took him a second to realize he'd been on the receiving end of healing magic. Quickly, he looked around--he had no idea how long he'd been out, but the troll was down, and the creatures he was fighting with were fleeing, so it couldn't have been too long--and more importantly, they had won. Breathing a sigh of relief, the paladin slowly rose to his feet. "Thanks for..." he began, then hesitated, unsure who to thank as he re-examined the battle field and finally spotted Kiana.
"Oh, hello!" he said with a nod, wondering if the group had the newcomer to thank for their victory, but not really wanting to ask outright. "I suppose that was your healing? If so, thank you!" Gauging from everyone's demeanor that the danger had passed, he was about to begin introductions, when he overheard Kiana.
Throwing the scorched troll arm on the ground and stamping out the flames until the arm is just ash, Spike calls out, “You’d better run!” And heads over to join the others, asking, “What have we found here?”

While holding his hand over the gaping wound in his side and gasping a bit, Essendrum raises the other hand feebly. “No need for the mace. We’re the rescue party. His employees sent us.” The mage looks a bit woozy and begins examining his wounds, muttering that he’d like to take some notes but wouldn’t want to obscure his spellbook with blood. He takes to drawing incomprehensible symbols on the stone in blood while chuckling softly.
