Lokilia too steps inside the warehouse and looks and listen for any signs of what's inside. (Perception: 15)
The interior of the warehouse is mostly bare but there are a few dozen crates stacked in a pyramid of sorts; they are constructed of hardwood and are nailed shut.
Against the far wall is a large metal strongbox that looks large enough for someone to fit inside if they scrunched up a bit, there is a padlock on it but it is not closed.
Otherwise the majority of the warehouse is empty space.
Dev looks for an office or desk where inventory manifests or receipts or other tracking documentation might be found.
”Back when my folks had the fishing tackle shop, they kept a ledger with all their sales and deliveries and everything written in it. I wonder if there’s something like that here?,” he wonders aloud, quietly. “I’m going to look,” he explains to the others before searching.

Assuming it is currently empty, he looks for evidence that something has occupied it recently.

As Normont lifts the lid of the strongbox he finds his hands sink into it slightly and become stuck fast to it, the metal box shimmers and rows of shark-like teeth jut from the edges of the strongbox and myriad eyes blossom over its surface......it attempts to eat Normont.

Normont struggles but fails to break free. He looks to Maggie, "Back up and charge this thing, get it off me", he directs, his voice tinged with the beginnings of panic as he faces being eaten.
Maggie does as bidden, backing away and charging from 10ft, attempting to rend the mimic with her claws. After which she stays close to Normont.

Dev gawks in stunned astonishment at the strange creature. But he’s seen strange things over the last few months, and he quickly regains his wits.
“Normont!,” he shouts in a strangled yell, trying not to blow their concealment, then rushes to help him. His pan pipes come up and the young bard blows on them an arcane and discordant melody that only their assailant can hear.
(Dissonant Whispers - 13 WIS save or take 8HP Psychic damage & use its reaction to immediately flee full movement ftom Dev. On save take 4HP and don’t flee.)

Lokilias stone hits the mimic solidly whilst Devs arcane attack seems less effective.
Quinn races up behind and tears Normont free of the creatures grip....

"Working on it", Normont replies to Lokilia when asked if he is ok, but his voice is strained and it is obvious that the current answer should be no.
And then the large Genasi form of Quinn is beside him, yanking him from the maw of the mimic.
"Crikey, thanks Quinn. Sorry everyone", he says as he scuttles back out of the vicinity of the mimic and draws his rifle.
"Keep on it, Maggie!", he directs.
Maggie does as requested, and swipes out again with her mechanical paw, making sure she is between the mimic and Normont.
