Normont moves across to stand little behind and to the side of Dev.
"That is Lady Gwendolyn de Rolo, the youngest child of Lord Percy and Lady Vex'ahlia", he whispers.
For a full six seconds, Dev continues to stand motionless, seeming not to have heard. Normont may be tempted to repeat himself, but at that moment, Dev's mind leaves its state of suspended animation and he suddenly says, in a voice far too sharp, "WHAT?," as if calling over the roaring of ocean waves.
He shakes his head, hearing now, in hindsight, the rudeness of his tone in the echoes rebounding down the hall, and then tries again, this time in a civil tone.
"What? Oh.. Lady Gwendolyn de Rolo... oh, thanks," he trails off, reluctantly peeling his eyes from the family portrait, knowing that he will be thinking about it for a long time. But later. For now he has to pay attention. He notices the glances of the others at him and smiles wanly, 'let's go', before turning to continue following Normont to the archive.

"Ah! Trinket! Yes, like the park," Lokilia repeats happily. "Are they about? It would be fascinating to talk to Trinket. Hmm, the bears are part of the royal family. How interesting."
Normont is a little startled by Dev's sharp reply, and is about to gently shush him when he starts to speak at a normal volume.
"Hm, well I know that Lord Percy and Lady Vex'ahlia are not here. Well, I have been told they are not. I couldn't say about Trinket and Charlie. We have a meeting with Lady Cassandra tomorrow, she will certainly know", he replies to Lokilia as they walk towards the library and the Archivist's office.
As they four of them head deeper into the Palace they are met by a young man in livery they have not seen before and are ushered into the library where the head librarian, a rather gothic looking youngish gnome woman dressed in black lace, shows them through to the office of the Cobalt Soul representative.
The human woman behind the desk looks up once more recognising at least some of them , her desk is, as always, a mess of charts, notations and tomes and there is a plaque on her desk indicating she is Archivist Pren.
She stands and ushers them in dressed in a simple grey smock dress with an overcoat. Her hair is a short bob and seems to have had a red dye run through it some weeks ago though it is mostly grown out now.
" Welcome back. And with new friends, excellent."
" Now...did you want the good news or the bad news?"
Lokilia follows Normont as he makes his way to the Archivist's office. Not fully understanding who all these people are, she certainly thinks they all look important.
She is also glad that it seems this Archivist Pren knows Normont. The bit about good and bad news was concerning. But she's lost track on what all Normont had brought to these folks.
Dev listens attentively. He is what you might call a pessimist with a good attitude. He expects the glass to be empty. If it is half full, it is cause for celebration. The teen tiefling’s expression is muted as he awaits the good news with increasing excitement.

" Yes.....well...it seems that our mutual friend did not reach Emon yet........which he should have.....but its quite possible there's a non-sinister reason for the delay."
" Also ....not sure if this is good or bad....it seems from reports that the group of Nameless operating in Whitestone are a breakaway faction currently unaffiliated with the ones within Emon.."
"Blainith didn't make it to Emon?", Normont says a little shocked. "It has been quite some time, I wonder what happened. Likely nothing good", he adds clearly concerned.
When she explains her other news, he replies, "So they might not have as many resources then. That might be good. But then they might have split because they have more extremist views. based on what we know about them. Any ideas about about how many split or what they took with them?".
"And I don't suppose the name Bavvrikellimon came up at all? In fact, do you read undercommon by any chance?".

"Thanks", Normont whispers to the librarian, not wanting to speak too loudly.
When he enters Archivist Pen's office, he smiles at her as she greets them. His smiles fades though as he hears she has both good and bad news.
"Perhaps we should start with the bad news, if you please, Archivist Pren", he suggests.
At least there was some good news, e just hoped it wasn't overshadowed by the bad.
