Magnus will continue to help the escaped prisoners move through the forest back to town while searching for any clue as to their wayward companion.
Survival: 17
Magnus spots some signs of passage that have not yet completely faded and deduces they are likely either the AIr Asharis or the men and dog that went after her, on closer inspection a boot print turned up that had to be hers....he had a direction for now....
Normont hurries along as quickly as his short legs can carry him without making an abundance of noise.
"Of course we must tell the Watch, but perhaps some evidence will backup our claims. Tyler here mentioned a warehouse in Drynna where they store things. If the Watch find something incriminating there, they have to believe us and move with haste, right?".
The little gnome looks very deflated by their inability to stop the folk at Galador Estate themselves.
Jasper follows last, making sure everyone makes it out safe before they try to leave.
"We definitely need to report this. And Normont is right, we ought to check out that warehouse, see if we can find any incriminating evidence. Because so far all we have is our word, and that isn't going to be enough, especially considering that we're dealing with cults that are raising the dead. Folk will think we're crazy unless we've got something hard to back up our crazy talk," Jasper huffs as they continue through the woods. "But first things first, we should find Lokilia. Make sure she's okay. Considering she didn't join us in our little makeshift prison, that means she's still out here somewhere or... well, I don't want to think about the alternative. We also need to get these civilians to safety. Their testimony will be important for anyone to take this seriously."
It was bad enough this investigation led to the death of Theron, a good man and amiable acquaintance, but Jasper considered Lokilia a friend. The thought of her potentially being killed by these people left a deep pit in their stomach. Jasper swore a silent vow: they weren't going to let anyone else die in this endeavor.
"I might be wrong but I think our friend went this way," Magnus points out the print in the ground and the direction she was heading, "the other prisoners should be fine from here on out, as long as they head straight to town and then we can go check on this warehouse and report to the guard shortly after that."
“But it’s not just one person’s word. It’s all of us.” Dev motions to encompass the group of prisoners. “And you’re a member of the Watch! Why would they ignore you? We should go to your Captain right away. If he doesn’t take the word of this many people seriously…,” Dev trails off. Then maybe he’s one of them, he thinks.
The dwarven couple headed across to the tall confused looking man, " If we stick to the edge of the woods and keep heading north-west we'll get to Turst Fields eventually, so that will suit us fine."
They thanked the companions then tromped off into the woods with some urgency.
Looking about the kobold has already vanished from sight apparently knowing where they were going.
Tyler looked around at the companions, " I'm gonna stick with you lot for a bit.....seems the safest option."
Magnus pointed towards some footprints and indicated deeper into the woods.

Lokilia:-
You are suddenly woken by the sound of crunching leaves almost directly beneath you and glancing down you see an elderly pair of dwarves and a middle aged confused looking human walking quickly through the woods.
" You think they alright?", said the human slowly.
" They'll be fine, love.", replied the female dwarf, " Absolutely won't die horribly over the next few days."
Awakened by the people talking, Lokilia fears it may be those who'd been tracking her. She stays alerts but also still, hoping they don't notice her. She's also curious to hear what they might be talking about.

(Assuming she got in a long rest?)
( Near enough to count as one.)
As the people walk away they seem to be discussing being freed from captivity recently and their eagerness to be away from here.
As the voices fade, Lokilia takes a moment of meditation to pray to adjust her spells. (OOC - just changing 1 for another.) Slowly she emerges from the hollow of the tree, looking about. 'Freed they said. It must have been Dev, Jasper, and the others. I wonder if they're nearby.'
She starts to listen for any signs of them and peers through the forest. She's reluctant to move back toward the farm she fled from, so for now she stays put. (Perception: 10)
Normont turns to Dev with a sad look on his face, "The word of one or many, it does not matter. Without evidence they will deny the claims. By the time the Watch get to the estate, they will have removed that evidence, and there will be nothing the Watch can do. Powerful families like these are incredibly difficult to pin down, that is why the Watch have struggled to find this Hidden place I expect".
At news of tracks that might be Lokilia's he perks up, "Lead the way Magnus".

Lokilia listens carefully but cannot hear anything except the birds and leaves in the breeze.
Normont turns to Dev with a sad look on his face, "The word of one or many, it does not matter. Without evidence they will deny the claims. “But if we bring the Watch in time for this thing they are doing at sunset, when will they have time to remove evidence? If they are caught red-handed, then the Watch can arrest them, rich or not. And if the Watch can’t stop them with so much evidence, then what’s the point of the Watch?”
Dev faces Normont squarely. “Do you just not want to involve them for some reason? Cuz people are getting killed here and we already know we can’t handle this ourselves.”
Normont looks up at Dev a little taken aback, “I have not been against going to the Watch, I just believe we need to go to the warehouse first. I don’t believe there is time to make it back to Drynna whilst avoiding the road, persuade the Watch to go to Galador Estate with haste, and to actually make it there before sunset. There is just not enough time. And I also don’t believe they will simply carry on as normal with this ritual knowing we have escaped and will likely go to the Watch anyway”.
“Perhaps I am making too many assumptions, but the fact is sunset is fast approaching and we aren’t even heading back to Drynna yet. And those folk back there have carriages at their disposal. I only hope they don’t know we know about the warehouse”.
He sighs, “It has been a difficult day, we are all on edge. Let’s maybe take it one step at a time, find Lokilia and make it to Drynna safely, then decide?”.
”Ok. But also, I don’t think the Ocicis have wasted much time worrying about us. And maybe there is time to go and come back. If we run back instead of just walking we should get there in 20 or 30 minutes. If the Watch runs, they should also get to the Galador Estates in 20 or 30 minutes — or faster if they have horses.”
Dev realizes now that more time may have passed than he thought.
Magnus will lead the others down the path he found, hoping it will lead to Lokilia and head on out, keeping a watch out for any new signs of her.

Magnus tracks as well as he can for a bit then realises he is following the tracks of the dwarven couple, but regardless as he stops to reassess he spots Lokilia up in the branches of a beech tree.
“You might be right, Dev. If you all run there you have got a chance”, Normont replies reaching up and placing a hand on Dev’s forearm.
”But I will only slow you all down with my little legs. Why don’t you all head back quickly now, and I will carry on the search for Lokilia and meet you later? Perhaps we can even tell the Watch about the goings on at the estate and at the warehouse, so they can send people to both places”, he continues, unaware right now that Magnus has spotted Lokilia.
