[[ OOC: @DM: The last enemies have now been eliminated, I assume? If so... ]]
Khessa compliments all the team members: "Another battle won for us! I suggest to secure this floor, before taking the stairs... This way it should be more difficult to be caught from behind later".
The tall adventuress stays in the front row and heads towards the double doors on the left, opening them carefully (ready, if necessary, to use them as a new chocke point) and looking at what lies beyond.
The man at arms falls. An unsettling quiet settles over the entrance hall, and you feel uneasy.
OK. Then Vrox slips into the room. He stows his bow again and equips his shield and dagger in case he stumbles into anything at close range.
(OOC: Post #1876 mentioned gargoyles at the rim of a domed ceiling. The chamber is 40' x 40' with columns, but how high is the ceiling in this chamber?)
Vrox looks around and listens for signs of any enemies in the eerie silence. He gazes up at the gargoyles above curiously. If it is a particularly high ceiling, he looks to see whether there are any balconies or anything above that would give access to the upper stories. If nothing attacks them when they enter this chamber, he next checks the ground and smells the air for signs of the demons to the north and south. Finally, he heads toward the doors where Khessa went, moving to the left (north) of the doors.
Looking for signs of the demons' passing: Survival27, w/ advantage because Fiends are one of his Favored Enemies
(OOC: Now that we're finally in the entrance hall, Vrox should have the info from post #1929 since that was a similar roll for tracking.)
Vrox sniffs the air and rubs his nose in distaste. He warns his friends: "Be careful! The stench of demons is heavy in the air, both to the left and to the right."
To your front, are two large doors that are halfway open, as if though someone had run through and hastily tried to close the door. To your left, a grand staircase going up. To your right, a hallway, in which you see another set of double doors set in the wall.

[[OOC: I think that @Painted_Beyond made a typo there and meant that Khessa opened the double doors to the east (on the right).]]
Oooppps! I wrote it wrong in my haste, it seems. Given the last informations, however, I'd say she's more interested in the two large doors to the front that are halfway open. Khessa's basic reasoning remainins the same ('Let's explore this floor first, so that when we leave via the stairs we don't leave any enemies behind who can surprise us'), . Since those doors look like someone had run through and hastily tried to close them, some of the retreating troops might have gone that way... so why not finish them off, before they regroup?
I'd say Khessa opens those doors (front) - and looks what's beyond.
As you open the door, standing in the middle 3/4 of the way down is one of the red demons, standing before another set of double doors. Two of the men at arms are trying to conceal themselves behind statues, but you see them in the process.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Peeking past Khessa, Vrox whispers, "Are you going to blast the fiend with cold? Or should I help take Tyek to far side of the demon, in front of those other doors?" He studies the demon for a moment and marks it as his quarry, and then he ducks back beside the door to stay out of site in case the demon or its allies have some sort of ranged weapons or magic.
Movement: Move up to Khessa and then step out of sight on the NW side of the doors. Action: Hide - Stealth23 Bonus Action: Reassign mark to the Red Abishai. Free Action: Talking
Concentration: Hunter's Mark round 35 of 600 (estimating time since the last update)
Clarac waits for her companions to cast any spells, then enters the hallway and strides 30 ft. towards the demon. She points at the drow death knight on the left with her sword. "Come out from behind there and fight," she says.
OOC:
Action: Cast True Strike on left drow death knight Movement: 30 ft. into hallway
Active Effects: Auras of Courage, Devotion, Protection, and Holy Avenger, plus Aura of Purity's Protection from Evil and Good Concentration: True Strike
Lord Akkron looks at the demon and the two death knights.
"Just how many of you do we need to tear apart before you get the message?" he sighs.
He casts chain lightning, targeting the Red Abishai and causing a bolt to leap at each of the two death knights. Each of them must make a DC 24 Dex save or take 35 lightning damage (half-damage on a success).
Then his beholderkin fires 3 eye beams at the Red Abashai

Khessa replies to Vrox: "Sadly, I don't know ice-based cantrips... and I don't think this trio of amateur ambushers are worth a real spell - especially since my magic powers are more limited than Lord Akkron's, so I have to try not to waste them when they aren't crucial. They are fewer than us. I'd say let's just storm them and make short work of them".
The blonde arcane warrior, with trusty Alfred behind her, stays at Clarac's side, trying to close the corridor so that the enemies can't reach those behind her and the holy warrior.
"You're bad at hide and seek..." the tall adventuress comments, talking to the enemies. "And from what I've seen so far, you're not much better at fighting... Perhaps you should consider surrender, before it's too late" and, for food for thought, she fires a fire mote at the nearest man at arms.
Trying to help put Tyek into play and preventing any reinforcements from arriving through the other doors, Vrox was going to move forward with Tyek ~30' and then Misty Step them both to the far side of the Red Abishai. Then Tyek engage in melee with the demon (from behind) while Vrox moves to the NE corner of the room and fires his bow at the demon. Vrox will just rely on the hulking form of Tyek to prevent the demon from getting to him. 🙂
Movement: Move forward 30'. After the Misty Step, move 10' to the NE corner of the room. Bonus Action: Misty Step, using the Misty Wanderer feature to bring Tyek with him. Vrox is just waiting for the man-at-arms to drop or for Clarac and Tyek to move into the next chamber before he follows Khessa through the doors.
