Khessa immediately launches into pursuit - if she fails to catch up, she activates with a whisper and a very quick gesture a spell that makes her run faster.
"No way!" the blonde arcane warrior threatens the fugitives with her Death Lance "We will not let you go and cause trouble elsewhere! If you want to avoid death, your only hope is surrender, not escape! Put down your weapons! Now!"
...And if the fugitives, thinking she is bluffing, insist on trying to run, the tall adventuress begins to embroider their backs with thrusts of her spear dripping with necrotic energy!
You crash into the rear most blood convert, and pierce him with the death lance, causing him to fall and tumble into the running group before him, causing another to fall into a heap.
Seeing Jodie pursue the blood converts, Tyekanik tries to strike down the fleeing blood converts.
Reaction: If any of the converts were within his 10 ft. reach, Tyekanik would make an opportunity attack as they fled: Opportunity Attack with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder): 37, Damage: 66 (magical thunder) + 42 (force) = 108 (total)
Movement: Move up to 40 ft. to get within his reach of any remaining blood convert and attack. Action: Two Reckless Attacks with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder) Attack 1: 37, Damage: 50 (magical thunder) + 61 (force) = 111 (total) Attack 2: 26, Damage: 30 (magical thunder) + 30 (force) = 60 (total) Bonus Action: If any of the blood converts is still alive and within his 15 ft. reach after his and Khessa's attacks, use Mighty Impel to move the surviving cultist behind him toward Clarac (to an unoccupied space Tyek can see within 30-ft.) An unwilling creature must succeed on a DC 22 STR saving throw to avoid the effect.

The two rear most blood converts fall, the remaining two turn to almost reluctantly face you
One shakes his head defiantly, "Blood for the blood god!" where the other one does drop his weapon and kneels
Vrox: Round 3
Vrox had hesitated a moment, but that's all he needed to hear. As the blood convert calls out, he moves his mark to them and lets two arrows fly.
Bonus Action: Reassign mark to the defiant blood convert. Action: Two attacks with Dragon's Wrath Longbow (150/600) Attack 1 vs. the marked blood convert: 20 Damage: 20 (magical piercing, including HM dmg) + 15 (radiant) = 35 (total) Attack 2 vs. the marked blood convert: 20 Damage: 15 (magical piercing, including HM dmg) + 7 (radiant) = 22 (total) The first hit does an additional 3 (psychic), or if it was a critical hit, 9 (psychic) Movement: After he fires his bow, Vrox hops nimbly down from the throne on the balcony and heads into the hall since it seems like the party has taken care of most of the threats.
Clarac sheathes her sword, approaches the kneeling Blood Convert, and attempts to shove them to the floor and hold them down. If successful, she asks, "Does anyone have any rope?"

“You should be careful what you wish for," Khessa comments simply "for you might get it” and just as Vrox’s arrows begin to draw the blood of the indomitable opponent, the Death Lance springs forth, thrust firmly in both hands, in a rapid series of thrusts, mercilessly driving home the pulsating tip of necrotic energy.
Clarac sheathes her sword, approaches the kneeling Blood Convert, and attempts to shove them to the floor and hold them down. If successful, she asks, "Does anyone have any rope?"
... Your last strike finishes off the defiant blood convert. Now only you have the prisoner groveling at your feet.
"I have the rope, Clarac" Khessa replies to the brave paladin and takes a 50' hemp rope from her backpack, cutting a part of it and using it to tie the prisoner.
"Let's lock him in a cell in the dungeon, for extra precaution," the blonde arcane warrior suggests "then we'll resume our 'work' - perhaps continuing along the path these gentlemen were occupying".
The tall adventuress then proceeds to search the fallen, then (possibly even alone - it must be a quick task) to take the prisoner to a cell in the dungeon and then return here - and lead the exploration further forward.

"Please, permit me to accompany you," Vrox volunteers. While Khessa's guardian seems to do a good job protecting her, he is always alert to the possibility of danger and subtle tricks. This blood convert truly seems to be begging for their life, but he wouldn't want Khessa to stumble into an ambush alone.
On the way down to the dungeon, Vrox tries to convince the convert into giving them any information: "I have long fought infernal forces. These demons you sought to follow would have you throw your life away in a fruitless effort to stop us. They care less for your life than we do! Now that you surrendered, if we lose, I'm sure that the demons will torture you to death. You would serve your own interest by helping us to victory. Where does the duke and the leader of the cult gather? What does this cult seek to do here at the castle? We will soon find out anyway, but if you want to live to see the dawn tomorrow, you'd best tell us anything that you know!"
On the Blood Converts, Sparhawk points out they wear the livery of the Duke's men-at-arms. They were wearing plate armor and carrying great swords. They all had belt pouches with various coins in it, mostly coppers and some silver, totaling 68 CP, and 15 SP.
What you find odd, each has a fresh brand on the side of their heads, of the Chaos 8-pointed star.
The demons, like the ones you have fought before, Blood letters. They are wielding their black Hellblade swords.
"I wonder if removing the brand might also lessen (or remove) the influence of the Nefarious Duo?" Khessa wonders - but for now any healing spells seem better kept at the disposal of the 'cleaning troop' than employed in these sorts of experiments - which can be conducted at leisure at a future time.
So the blonde arcane warrior takes the prisoner to the cell... then comes back to resume the exploration.
Lord Akkron looks at the dark symbol thoughtfully for a moment.
"Possibly... but it seems just as likely to me that the professor's unfortunate fate may be all that awaits this man if he is severed from the power of the nefarious duo. Either way, now is probably not the time to conduct such experiments. We can leave him chained up in the dungeon until we are finished dealing with everything else around here... hopefully there isn't too much more to deal with."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

I should have also said that Vrox switched from his longbow to his shield and sword before navigating the way back to the dungeon cells with Khessa.
