[[OOC: @Aggie - FYI - Vrox's token is in incorrect. Since the Duergar appeared after Vrox's action last turn, as described below, he should be way up at the north end of the hallway. Basically, Vrox should be just to the left of that Duergar Warlord at the top of the map. Not really where he meant to be in this fight, but he basically sneaked to the end of the hall just as the cultists and Duergar came around the corner, so he would have just gotten out of the way and let them pass him.]]
[[OOC: @Aaggie - Did the duergar warlords and cultists appear before Vrox became invisible and moved to the north end of the hallway where it meets the E-W hall? Or did you just forget to move Vrox's token, and Vrox will start this encounter all the way up against the north wall at the intersection? If it's the latter, then it makes sense that the enemies would pass right by him (unless they can see / sense invisible creatures) since he is both invisible and hiding.]]
[[OOC: Here's the map updated to show Vrox's initial position. Since he's invisible, only Lord Akkron would know that he's behind the approaching cultists and duergar until the start of of Vrox's turn.]]
Hearing of Khessa's intentions (to quickly eliminate the Cultists in the hopes of convincing the dwarves), Lord Akkron attempts to paralyze the three Cultists with a simple but effective spell.
[[OOC: Lord Akkron up-casts Hold Person using a 4th-level slot to target all three Cultists. Each Cultist must pass a DC 24 Wis Save or become Paralyzed. ]]
Khessa, whether the paralysis works or not, followed by her trusty Alfred, reaches the Cultist at the head of the group and tries to eliminate him with two crossed slashes of Wave of Sorrow, completed by a lunge.
If the enemy is paralyzed, each hit scored is automatically a critical, since Khessa has moved within 5' of the target, so in that case the following damage must be added:

[[OOC: Massive damage from Khessa! If the cultist had < 133 HP, then Khessa would have killed them with her first two attacks and could have directed that third attack at one of the Duergar Warlords who tried to pass her to get to the party's duergar ally. Not using Reckless Attack this round. Tyek has advantage because his target is paralyzed. Tyek is within 30-ft of Khessa, so he is affected by the holy idol's Prot. from Evil effect.
As Vrox reached the end of the hallway, he saw a whole troop of duergar and cultists approaching. With no time to warn his friends, he had to slip invisibly out of their way to let them pass. When his invisibility fades and he suddenly becomes visible in the hallway, Vrox realizes that he's facing multiple enemies, and he's separated from his friends or and too far to navigate the fairy paths back to them. He shouts back toward Khessa: "Three more cultists in the cross-hallway." Seeking to tip the odds in his favor, he speaks words of power in Sylvan and blows into his closed left fist. Then he opens his fist, pointing, and a cloud of dense, misty fog erupts from the spot where he pointed. Finally, Vrox simply tries to hide from their enemies in the fog cloud. He closes his eyes and focuses on his other senses.
Movement: Move slightly, remaining within the fog to ensure that he's heavily obscured. Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Fog Cloud Create a 20 ft radius sphere of fog centered on in the middle (N-S) of the hallway and on the right boundary of the square where the nearest cultist is standing. The area is heavily obscured for the duration or until the cloud is dispersed. Bonus Action: Hide - Stealth: 32 (using Vanish feature, advantage from Shadowfell Brand Tattoo) Free Action: Talking.

Khessa, whether the paralysis works or not, followed by her trusty Alfred, reaches the Cultist at the head of the group and tries to eliminate him with two crossed slashes of Wave of Sorrow, completed by a lunge.
Khessa's Multiattack with Wave of Sorrow:
1st Attack: 26 Damage: 30 (magical slashing) + 17 (acid) = 47
2nd Attack: 31 Damage: 27 (magical slashing) + 17 (acid) = 44
3rd Attack: 38 Damage: 32 (magical slashing) + 14 (acid) = 46
If the enemy is paralyzed, each hit scored is automatically a critical, since Khessa has moved within 5' of the target, so in that case the following damage must be added:
1st: Damage: 10 (magical slashing) + 16 (acid) = 26
2nd: Damage: 8 (magical slashing) + 7 (acid) = 15
3rd: Damage: 11 (magical slashing) + 12 (acid) = 23
Save 1: 5
Save 2: 2
Save 3: 16
The first cultist falls to your feet dead
Updated map-Vrox can see everything down the hallway and the entire enemy party as they run down the hallway.
The cultist circled in red is dead, the two cultists circled in blue are held.
The Golgari tries to speak to his brethren, to not follow the orders of the cultists, but it seems to be falling on deaf ears. As they attempt to come around, Sparhawk and Yoht move to engage them, supported by Maynard.
Sparhawk attacks: Attack: 34 Damage: 32; Attack: 32 Damage: 20; Attack: 25 Damage: 20
Yoht's attack: Attack: 13 Damage: 16; Attack: 29 Damage: 16; Attack: 32 Damage: 26
Maynard's crossbow attack: Attack: 30 Damage: 15; Attack: 28 Damage: 15
2 of the attacking Golgari fall to Sparhawk, Yoht and Maynard
