Khessa is eager to return Alexia to her family, but she thinks the small writing desk could be interesting... there could be letters written but not yet sent there... and wax and a signet ring could be useful for possibly forging messages of the cult of Slaanesh...
"Mal..." the blonde arcane warrior turns to her half-drow friend for a moment "Don't you think the desk in the corner looks rather interesting?"
[[ OOC: @Jonpawl: You're still with us, right? I haven't seen you post in a while... ]]
Within the desk is a journal, for someone running a secret cult, you are amazed how his ego prevents safeguards. The nobleman wrote everything down, from when he was introduced to a Zemoch emissary, who led him to the Slaanesh overall priestess. It details his pursuit of Slaanesh rights, to become a powerful nobleman and eventually ruler. It also details his experiments with summoning, a "gift" from Slaanesh. It also lists all of his failures. To show his dedication, he sacrificed his own son, who in the process, was turned into a vampire that he had to lock up. Then his failing with the girls he kidnapped, but when it didn't work, he threw them to his son to feed on.
Disgusted by the latest discoveries about the corrupt nobleman's atrocities, Khessa sets everyone apart, concluding: "He was probably much more corrupt and evil than he initially seemed to me. It no longer surprises me that his goddess was able to possess him - and to end her life. Nor do I particularly feel sorry for it. It will be well to free the world from the threat of his vampire son as well. But first," she takes the rescued prisoner back into her arms "it is high time for Alexia to return home".
The blonde arcane warrior asks for directions (or to be guided) and immediately proceeds to bring Alexia back to her family. She has already suffered too much - and too unfairly.
Akkron follows Tyekanik... and seeing the man's fangs, he immediately makes a connection: vampires.
"I think I might be best suited to handle this situation,"the lich tells the giant.
He steps into the wine cellar so that the six occupants can get a good look at him (and to make it as obvious as possible that he probably doesn't taste very good).
"Greetings," he says. "I am Lord Akkron of the Shaded Isle... as it seems that the six of you were imprisoned here, I think we may have a common enemy..."

The male vampire looks at you dubiously, while the females hide behind him, but his like all vampires do.
"It seems we may have something in common, we're undead though it seems you are by choice, and I am not." He chuckles and looks down at the ground, before returning your gaze. "I am not sure which enemy you are speaking of, but at the top of my list, is my father. He promised me wealth and untold power which I did not want. I was rather happy in my life, before he brought me down to his cellar of horrors. I never thought he would stoop so low for his own personal agendas, to have this done to me."
He holds his hands out wide, so you can get a good view of him. The females come from behind him and stand to his side. He chuckles before continuing.
"These poor girls, I knew them before I was forced to take their lives for I can't control the thirst. I always thought only vampires could make vampires. I was proven wrong. This woman of some sort, evil to the core, made me into this. Now if you speak of her as a common foe, I heartily agree."
"If your father was the lord of this keep, then he has already paid for his crimes with his life," Akkron replies. "As for the woman who did this to you... yes, I think that I know of whom you speak... and I assure you that I have no lover for her."
He pauses thoughtfully and reflects on the remark that his condition was his own choice.
"I really should tell you my story sometime when the fate of the world isn't at stake," he sighs. "What is your name, my friend? And perhaps you would like to introduce the ladies as well?"

The vampire looks at you, surprised at your candidness. The females are reluctant though, but still stay near his side. "I am, or was I should say, Robert Taynard, son to Richard who was the sick monster who was my father the petty nobleman who resided here. He was not pleased with my life choice, of not wanting to follow in his footsteps of being a Merchant Prince, but a man of knowledge and of the sciences. I had returned home from the University when we had our falling out, when I told him I was pursuing my life's dream in the library and not the market. It was that night he brought me down here for one of his warped meetings and that female was here."
He pauses, seemingly recalling the horror of that night. "She, Slaanesh, made me all of these offers, only if I was to give myself over to worshiping her, I refused and that infuriated her. I guess she does not like having mere mortals say no. Well, my father took that opportunity to increase his position, and made me a sacrifice to her. Instead of killing me which I would prefer over this, she bit me and drank my blood. Then instead of finishing me, my father tried some magical spells or something, and here I am."
He looks at you in earnest. "I don't know what I am, though I know I am a monster. I think I am a vampire from what I have read. They locked me in here after the ceremony and after a few days, the thirst arrived, and they began putting these young girls in here with me. They had carvings on their skin, bruising and blood, I could hear their screams from the other side of the door, my hearing and sense of smell is much stronger. Once the weaken girls were thrown in here, I surmise another failed magical experience, I lost myself to the thirst and drank their blood. In time they woke up as you see. I didn't want to, but the thirst took control. Now I am the monster you see before you, I only wish to redeem myself somehow and what I did to these girls because of my father. These girls are the daughters from the other merchants in the keep, my father's competition."
"Well your father received the reward he deserved," Akkron says, fury boiling inside him at the very idea of a father so callously discarding his child. "As soon as I discovered his true allegiance, Slaanesh apparently deemed him to be useless and killed him on the spot. And I say good riddance to anyone who would betray their own flesh and blood for fleeting wealth."
He glances at the women. "I think that we just rescued another would-be victim of this grim ritual... I doubt she would have lasted much longer if we hadn't found her. Please... come with us so that we can talk somewhere that is a bit more pleasant... though I suppose it is probably difficult to consider any part of your father's home 'pleasant' after the hell you have been through."

He seems reluctant at first, but then follows you out into the basement main room, the female vampires following close behind, as if he was their protector.
"What is to be done with us, to either myself or them? We're monsters, and I do not believe from what I have read, there is a cure for vampires other than death."
Tyekanik grumbles from standing towering above and behind Akkron and says, "Do you know any way to help him of his hunger? We can't let a vampire out on the streets of the city."
The vampire's question catches Akkron off-guard... but it is a good one.
"I... do not know for sure,"he admits after a moment. "And I do not want to give you false hope. However, I also do not want to send you plunging into the depths of despair. I have heard that the most powerful of Clerics do have the power to cure the undead of this affliction... but I have never seen it done myself, and I am sure that there are some limitations on such powers. But I swear to you that I will do everything in my power to help you in any way that I can."
Tyekanik's question is also a very good one that needs to be addressed.
"As far as I know, vampires don't actually need to drain their victims dry," he says after a moment. "But they do still need to feed, and I don't think that the locals would be especially eager to be preyed upon by the undead, even if they are not killed. Based on what Robert has told us, it seems that he can go a few days between feedings before he loses control of himself, and I would assume that the ladies can do the same."
He sighs tiredly.
"Slaanesh really is a *****," he mutters under his breath, before he continues speculating. "We can probably simply feed them blood for a time... I don't know for sure if the blood of beasts is a sufficient long-term food source for vampires, but I know that they can and do drain animals when humanoid prey is impractical to obtain. It isn't a long-term solution to the problem, but we should be able to buy them some time while we come up with a more permanent remedy. If no cure for their actual condition exists, I suppose that I could bring them back to my island when the darkness plaguing these shores has been vanquished. My people are used to living in close proximity to the undead; I think that they would likely be accepted as neighbors, so long as we can find some way for them to feed without harming the living."
Richard looks at you and nods in agreement. "This is a perplexing dilemma, I agree as I do not want to attack those who I have known all my life, nor do I wish to be this monster as well. Perhaps for now, it may be safer for us to remain down here. I can control these others, for they can't control their thirst as well as I can."
"I know no other means of curing one from being a vampire," Brother Maynard adds. "Generally, it is of the church's opinion to stake their hearts and not ask too many questions."
"There might be another way," you hear a little girl's voice behind you. When you turn, you see Flute sitting in a large charge, swinging her legs back and forth.
"It's wonderful to see you again, Flute!" Akkron says with genuine tenderness in his voice. "You really do have a knack for showing up at just the right time. Anyway... you say there is another way to help these unfortunates? Please, do not hesitate to enlighten us."

She looks over at Robert and the female vampires, and slowly shakes her head. "Based on the agreements we have passed between us, I personally cannot, but my new friend can." She gestures to the side, and a glowing nimbus appears in the shape of a young man, but no clear detail can be seen. Only a glowing figure.
"What dear Aphrael has stated is true, for she cannot directly intervene in the people of our, or I should say, my land. I can, however, can be of service. I owe her a favor, for a wonderful party she provided on her island that she invited us as well as some of her other cousins, and I never had such a wonderful time."
The figure moves over and stands before Robert for a short period, then moves to the females. He reaches out, and with his glowing finger, touches their forehead. A glow encompasses them, and they fall to the ground. Similar to what you saw with the other girl, all signs of previous injuries and bruising are gone. Their skin is now a rosy pink, no longer the ashen grey of a vampire. The figure returns to Robert.
"I have healed them; their souls were easy to find for they have not gone far. They will awaken the same person they were and have no memory of what happened to them. As for you, you cannot be healed for it is beyond my power for how you were created was not done correctly. As it was not a true vampire, but an evil entity and a curse, your conversion is different. You are stuck between worlds as the joining was not done correctly."
The figure produces a medallion, with a phoenix embalm on it and holds it before Robert. "You I am afraid, are a day walker, a Dhampir of sorts. All the power of a vampire, the curse of the thirst, yet you still can walk in the light of day and have your soul. You can choose to take life or not. So, I give you this gift, this medallion, when the thirst starts to take you and you are losing control, press it into your palm, and the thirst will be driven away, though only for a short while. You will need to still take blood, I can't cure that, but it can be your choice."
The figure passes the medallion to Richard. He then turns and addresses the group. "Know that you are on the right path, though it is long and winding. The darkness has moved away, you won a victory, but I must warn you the darkness will return seeking to stop you. Stay true to your quest."
The figure turns to Flute, and bows. "Until the next party then?" The figure vanishes.
After the figure vanishes, the churchman arrives, with a woman that has a blindfold on. "After what was described to me about your last encounter, I brought Saintess, she is a local healer that may be able to aid you. I take it something rather profound just occurred, and we missed it?"
Before you stands a woman in her mid thirties. Her blond hair pokes out from beneath her holy robes. She is tall for a human, you'd guess about 5'8", but her presence feels like she is over 6' tall. From her face and hands you can see she has been in combat. She carries a staff, but also has a golden longbow over her shoulder and a longsword by her side. Though she appears blind, she seems to be able to move about without any issues at all. When she speaks with you there is a warmth that radiates from her. When someone speaks with her, even though her eyes are covered, you feel as though there is nothing to hide from her.
Akkron nods to the Cleric... then remembers that, unlike undead, mortals without eyes cannot see. Granted, this particular blind woman seems to be able to have some other way of perceiving her surroundings, but he really has no reason to assume that she can perceive subtle movements like a nod of the head.
"Welcome, Saintess," he says. "I hope that you are not alarmed by my presence... I was summoned here from across the sea to aid in driving back the darkness consuming this land."
He then addresses the churchman.
"Yes, it seems that something profound did happen... we just witnessed divine intervention. I think we should get the women out of here now; they are no longer among the undead and, if all that the divine figure said is true, they shall remember nothing of their brush with death."
Khessa, in the meantime, has had the opportunity to accompany poor Alexia back to her family and is now returning... The blue eyes observe the new arrival attentively, while on her face, partially decorated by some of the long blond curls that ended up there moved by a light breeze, a welcome smile appears.
"Pleased to meet you!" the woman quickly farstrides on her long legs. She is an imposing, athletic figure, in her full (considerable) height [[ OOC: Khessa is taller than 6' ]], the elegant but solid plate armor and the different weapons that she effortlessly carries on her, in various sheaths or secured to straps. Once she reaches Saintess, she stretches out a hand to shake "Khessa, Khessa Cabbagefield! You have already met Master Akkron, I see... the one who managed to teach a cabbage farmer like me what little magic I have could learn! His skills are second only to his good heart" she smiles.
A self-moving construct, humanoid in appearance, but clearly made of inorganic material has followed Khessa and now, invited by her, he comes to her side and holds out his hand in turn: "This is Alfred, my butler. And this" she nods with her head and a smile to a bat that came out from under her thick blond curls and began to fly around her "is my brother, Anator. Anator has no hand to hold to you, but he is in telepathic contact with me and assures me that he is also happy that you are here. He says that you give him the impression of being a very good person".
Khessa realizes, at that point, that Saintess shouldn't be able to see... but that she apparently sees just fine anyway. She then adds: "And apparently, you too, like Anator, can perceive the world not only with your eyes".
The Saintess takes hold of your hand and gentle shakes it in greeting you. She smiles warmly, but you also feel she follows your every word and movement. Refreshing coolness radiates gently through your arm as if in a relaxing pool. It does not dull your senses, on the contrary your senses feel awakened. She holds your hand no longer than appropriate for a greeting.
"It is nice to meet you Kessa, Alfred and brother Anator."
"If you are wondering about this cover." She gently removes the brown blindfold cover from her eyes. You see here eyes clouded and nearly white. From one side to the other is healed slice from one side of her face to tother. "In my early days as an adventure, before I was touched by God. My party and I got in way over our heads. I lost not only my sight, but also my friends. I was saved by God and brought back by acolytes to the church where I healed my wounds. No mater what we tried my sight was not returned. Over the years I struggled with my new found blindness, but over time and many kind conversations, I grew to accept it. When I fully accepted it, I was granted a new sight."
"I also have other ways to see. This robe for example or my flying friend up there." She points to a nearby tree. Perched on one of the higher branches is a Kestrel. "That is George."
