Aard'len nods his thanks, making a quick glance over the note now before re-rolling it and tucking it into his backpack next to the glowing pennant. "Thank you. And I'm sorry, I haven't introduced myself, I'm Aard'len. What's your name? No doubt I'll see you around campus, but let me know if you ever need an extra hand, or three." He speaks into her mind as is his preference, before nodding his thanks and taking his leave with the rest of the group.
"So, last clue. It's likely to be something near here, they've all been inside the Biblioplex so far. I would estimate that we don't need to travel all the way to the Stadium for the last clue." This time his thoughts ring out in Darby's head, as she was the one who suggested the stadium. "Any fresh thoughts?" He asks as he looks around for anything 'star-like' or somewhere that he might need to register.
"It's no problem, any idea where we should go next?"Katar says, hoping he can convince her to give them another clue. Persuasion Check: 15
Aisla calls out that she doesn't know, she's stuck in the café, right before you hear her give a short small scream as a stand of cookies falls over on her. "I'm okay!" She yells again as another student nearby begins to help her put the stand upright again.
"Oh," Darby jumps slightly...."Might we speak aloud to involve everyone, " the dwarf says aloud looking to Aard'len. "This might be better to speak like this if we need to keep secrets, " they reply afterward in Aard'len's head. "I think it's the stadium yes," they reply aloud again moving towards the exit towards the stadium.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
“Is there a stage to perform on?” Fianba asks, considering the last clue. “Perhaps it means Star as in famous?”
A passing older elven student in Silverquill uniform pauses slightly, "There certainly is here, right back there. Not a bad spot either if I do say so myself. Working on this year's challenge are you? I hope you have something prepared when you get there. Good luck!" They then hurry off to meet up with another Silverquill student.
"Never trust upperclassmen," Fianna says a bit snottily though she does crane her neck to look in the direction they indicated. Surely she wouldn't have been the first to think of the clue like that and if people were performing they should have heard someone singing or playing an instrument or something... Right?
The stage isn't that obscured, it is right in the back end of the Biblioplex, behind the Hall of Oracles where the challenge started, but Fianna doesn't see anyone currently on the stage doing anything of note.
"It does sound like a stage...but maybe it's an observatory or something like that, but I don't think something like that would be in the Biblioplex...and "opening night" seems to reference a stage."
Katar looks to the others to see if anyone else has an idea about what the clue might reference, and looks over to the stage to see if he spots anything important. Perception: 9

The stage, at least from where Katar is now, does give the impression it is waiting for an act.
"Maybe we do something, " Darby declares jumping on stage and clears their throat and begins reciting a poem from memory:
"Hit, clang, bump, forming iron lump into weapon strong, sword long. The Dwarven smith, works hard with sweat, on the fifth, weapon set. With flick of arm and swing of head, with sore palm and pain unsaid. In dwarven Forge dwarves forge, In this one but a lonely hut, one brings hammer with metal clamor, upon weapons, armor, in charming manner. With clang and bump, makes iron lump into shining steel that sheaths conceal and sets handle tough, with leather rough. Now bound, the blade profound, to wield on battlefield."
The dwarf then bows and smiles at their new companions.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
As soon as Darby finishes their recitation, five lights around the front of the stage flash on and flood the amphitheater with light! Once your eyes adjust a bit, you can see that each lamp is actually a recess with a hooded lantern filled with oil in it!
Almost as soon as everyone gets their own lantern, concluding their scavenger hunt, there is a bit of commotion coming from the west side stacks not too far away.
The joyous and energetic atmosphere of the first floor is shattered by panicked shouting.
“That trunk!”a young elf screams, pointing toward the stacks as she runs by. “That trunk has teeth! Please, anyone, stop it!”
Chaos erupts in the library as students stream in all directions, their books and papers flying as they shout in fear. The only faculty mages in sight are trying to deal with panicked students. You can’t just let some monster ruin the first day of classes. Time to step up! What do you want to do?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Darby looks towards the stampede from their vantage point on stage!
"Ah, now for a practical test of skill," Darby shouts taking a softball size metal orb out of their tunic and tosses it into the air. "Sprocket away! Let's give these folks a hand," they add as the orb springs open and a mechanical owl emerges!
After Sprocket has successfully taken wing Darby stows their lantern, after putting it out, and moves towards the commotion ready to give aid.
Initiative if needed: 4
*Darby uses Sprocket to give advantage with the help action to themself or a companion in upcoming combat action.*
Students flee, screams of panic replace the persistent murmur of activity and conversation. For a moment Aard'len seems distant. His feet move without conscious thought, he moves with the flow, away from the sound... Until he sees Darby throw a toy owl into the air - what an odd little contraption - seemingly intent on moving towards the source of panic. Another moment, indecision, he winces and grits his teeth before starting to retrace his steps, a reluctant determination forcing his feet to move, one step, another, then another.
Fianna finds herself moving against the crowd. While other students want to flee she can’t help but be curious and want to see what the big deal is all about. I’m going to regret this, she thinks to herself but does it anyway.
((initiative, if needed: 6))
Once she sees the trunk with teeth she can’t help but smile - How cool and weird is that?!? Still, it’s freaky and appears dangerous, if even just due to how others are reacting to it. She reaches into her waistband and pulls out the dagger she had concealed there. Waiting for the optimal time when the creature (?) is distracted by someone else, Fianna hurls her dagger at it, more worried about hitting someone e else than actually harming the chest.
Dagger Attack: 8 to hit for 6 damage…
(if nobody uses the help from Darby’s Sprocket then Fianna would… though her second roll is even worse - a nat 1)
As you all make your way to the southwest corner of the Biblioplex, past the rows of stacks and screaming students, you all see a half dozen old trunks strewn about. Sheets, blankets, large wooden frames, and half-painted wooden props are scattered haphazardly around the tables where members of the Live-Action Roleplaying Guild were setting up for a show. In the midst of the chaos sure enough an animated trunk with sharp looking teeth and a gooey icky tongue lapping about is wrecking havoc in the area! It spies you as soon as you get in the area and flies at your group!
Aard'len follows the group over (feel free to add another action or attack if you wish)
Darby lets their metallic companion fly free as they get to the area as well
Keibel rushes ahead, taking charge and galloping headlong at the creature, swinging their mace with a solid wallop and then rearing up to bash it with their hooves! 13 damage done
mimic strikes back at Keibel but it's sticky tongue flops wildly to the side of the armored centaur!
Fianna slings a dagger but it zips over the top of the trunk and misses!
Katar murmurs something and a faint green glow emenates from his right hand, he touches that hand to his chest and thick roots, branches, and vines sprout from the area, covering Katar like armor. He rushes toward the situation with his new allies. He turns to the others "Does anyone here know what that thing is? I'm still new to all of this."
OOC: I cast mage armor (I can change the description so the armor becomes invisible if the DM prefers that (btw, I am casting mage armor with one of my witherbloom initiate spells). Sorry for the late post, I had something going on yesterday.
