"Here," Nekane says, creeping over and eyeing the lock. "I don't have any thieves tools on me... what a stupid oversight on my part." He looks to Pan, "You wouldn't happen to have some would you? If not I can just crawl through the keyhole as a spider and unlock it from the other side."
Lozak walks around at the unkemptness of the whole situation, watching close to where he stamps and making little 'eww' faces as he spies one gross thing after another. He jumps when the werehippo thing pops up, but then goes back to looking around.
"Sorry Nekane, I'm all out of hair pins myself." He said, brushing a hand over his hair as he looks about. "I think....I feel like I remember stepping on a rusty old nail in place like this once before, when I was a little girl. Hm. Was that it? How bizarre. Hurt like the dickens, I think."
Nekane sighs, "Ah well, I suppose it's my fault." He glances at Pan, who's busy with the hippo, "Hey! Did you hear me?"He shrugs, "I would rather save my wildshapes for later, as we don't know what is to come, but if I must I must I suppose." He eyes the lock, waiting a moment for Pan to answer and muttering to himself about how stupid he is for not using the gold in his pocket to buy something useful...like some lock picks.
"You think we could find a rusty nail Lozak?" He asks abruptly, "And when were you ever in a place like this?" Then he glances around to see if he can find any such nail or anything that could be used for lock picks.
"Ahhh...now there's an idea." Lozak says when Nekane asks about a rusty nail. His glances to the ground become much more deliberate as he starts searching for anything loose like a nail, a nail hanging out of a pallet, box, chest...or something like a nail he can give over. "Not exactly like this, no. That's not quite what I meant. I apologize. I mean more like...just the mess and such."

Pan looks to Nekane and then back to the hippo, wondering which animal the tiefling was talking to, when the penny finally drops Pan gives a look of realisation, and digs around in his pack, "I want these back in the same condition or better ya hear!?" And with a grin that can only mean trouble, he throws a set of thieves tools over.
Ashtar watches his teammates scurry around and chatter with each other all while he stands and watches them silently, his usual smile still plastered on his face despite the taste of bile still fresh in his mouth. His friends really are entertaining to watch.
"Oh thank the gods," Nekane says, pulling his attention away from the messy room as Pan offers his own thieves tools. "I'll do my best..." he says, knowing full well that the halfling is probably way more qualified to pick the lock than he is.
He moves towards the door and tries his hand at lock picking. It hasn't been THAT long since he's broken into something... has it?
He gets the lock picks into the lock, and immediately gets them jammed. Slowly, he turns to look at Pan, looking half afraid and half pleading as he hopes that his friend will help him out...
"Uh... well I guess I'm rustier than I thought I was."
His tail droops, and he gives an awkward grin as he waits to see what Pan's response will be.
Pan's eyes burn into the back of Nekane's head as he makes the attempt, as the tiefling looks round Pan explodes, his attention fully drawn away fron the werehippo now, "ACH! ya jiggled when ya shoulda pulled! Give it 'ere!" it takes an awkward moment longer than it should have for the shorter than average halfling to stomp over before unceremoniously pushing Nekane out of the way, "watch close now." he jiggles and then pulls (17 lockpick soh) and then tries pulling and then jiggling. Before letting out a big sigh, and removing the thieves tools, "maybe her not as rusty as ye thought, the bastard lock is broken, it must be! Everybody stand back!" He warns dragging Nekane about 15ft away from the door and cautioning Ashtar.
Pan lobs a flask as hard as he can against the door shattering it, a moment later the entire door is covered in a slick flammable oil. He grins to Nekane, "you uhhhh wanna do the honours lad?"
Lozak looks at something on the floor for a long time, ignoring the rest of the shenanigans around him, before squatting down on his heels to get a better look at something. He reaches out slowly and with ginger grace and picks something up, dusting hay and dust and refuse off it with his free hand as he brings it up where he can get a better look at it, his brow furrowed, his expression almost pained.
"Oh my." He says as the crocodile tooth necklace hangs suspended in front of his face. "Oh my. This..."
His eyes clothes and he stays there a moment, not moving, not looking, and then gently clasps both hands around the little necklace and pulls it to his chest, clutching it tight.
Nekane perks up a little when Pan concludes that the lock is broken. At least it isn’t his fault for not being able to get the thing open. He grins wickedly when offered the option to do the honors, “It will be my pleasure,” he says with a flourish of one hand. Then he snaps his fingers and casts create bonfire on the oil.
Once the fire on the door is stoked to his satisfaction, he makes his way back over to the cubbies he'd been searching and pulls out a glass orb and a jug of... well by the smell of it it is probably gasoline. "Hey! Looks like we won't have trouble burning the place down if it comes to that! ...or if this isn't enough to catch it all ablaze."He chuckles for a moment then walks over to Lozak, who seems to be preoccupied with something... whatever it is is small enough Nekane can't make it out. "Hey," he holds out the glass orb. "Any idea if this could be useful or not?"He stares at the orb for a moment, then looks back at Lozak expectantly. The light from the fire on the door reflecting in his eyes... but that's totally normal isn't it?
As soon as the eastern door is set ablaze, the werehippo (who's name is Bubby by the way) starts, his eyes going wide and dropping his wooden sign out of his mouth. Braking his box as he tries to flee from the fire, most of the wooden slats head towards Violet (need save) and the werehippo himself jumps towards the cubbies and runs south out the entrance of the room, with Ashtar and Lozak (who currently has his eyes close but can feel the vibration of the creature) in it's warpath.
Once the creature has left the room, you hear no more coming from that direction. As you watch, the fire does do it's job and crackles and grows as the smoke starts curling along the ceiling. The door breaks and is now feeble enough to move out of the way, but the fire grows onto the walls adjacent, the heat emanating off of it.
"well that took care o' that! Ha! Right Annie, yer fireproof ain'cha? Let's go explorin' eh?" Pan gives Nekane a friendly clap on the lower back, (Pan can't quite reach Nekane's shoulder) and ushers him forward through the broken door and towards the previously locked room. The thoughts of frustration at the door now apparently gone far away from the short fused halflings mind.
Violet lets out a cry of surprise and pain as she gets smacked on the head with a chunk of wood.
"Hey! Be careful with that thing!" She exclaims. "This really isn't my day... how's the... oh, looks like you guys took care of the door problem... um... could someone else go first? I'm getting a little bit tired of being a punching bag..."

"Annie?" Nekane asks in confusion. "Fireproof? Wait..."He trails off for a moment as the halfling begins ushering him towards the burning portal. "I'm not fireproof! Well... not completely..."He shakes his head, letting the matter drop. "Whatever, I'll go first then."
Ashtar casually skips sideways, letting the rampaging hippo run past him. Well, that was close! "Good Job Nakane, Pan. Very fine teamwork." He glances at Violet. "You are free to wait out here if you like. Just call if you need anything!" With that he walks through the burning door after Nakane.

"Does shooting at the lock with beams of eldritch power count as 'rougeish'?" Violet asks.
