Rin looks at Kat staring at the rat and says, "it's probably one of your kind Kat! You should shape shift and dine together this evening!", followed by a sly grin...
(Oddly Katerielle is proficient in Arcana, but Rindelk isn't...)
Katerielle looks at the setup in the room and realizes that Glasstaff is trying to brew potions of invisibility. Skimming through the open books and notes, it appears Glasstaff has not succeeded yet.
Looking in jars and vials, there are three reagents that could be of value to an apothecary or alchemist: mercury, dragon bile and powdered nightshade.
Katerielle also comes across a large tome, but it is written in dwarvish.
i want to open the door to the next room, while to the side of door, (i'm expecting a fireball to come my way but no trap on door itself)
and a rat?! why narrate a rat.! is it meta to act on it? is there anything particular about it that makes it 'seem' unusal to our characters? perception to go over 15: 22

I would like to detect magic in this room.
Kat says, "I don't think there is anything of importance in this room. Just looks like junk to me!"
Rin replies, "Of course a druid would say such things!" "Harumph!!"
Elila grunts at the banter - which qualifies as a chuckle for her...
The rat looks and behaves like a rat. It is currently under some furniture, but it is definitely looking at all of you.
Rindelk also hears a thump as something falls to the ground in the next room.
Rindelk looks at Elila and gives a wizards cheeky wink, knowing full well he's pressing Kat's buttons.
Kat wonders what this Rat is all about.

OOC: AAAAAAANNNNND.... that's enough RP'ing with myself. Next? :)

Dire wolf Leek eats the rat...
I can't do much else. I can't communicate really, so I'm just waiting for the last fight...
Roll an attack to "hit" the rat.
Rin casts comp langs while touching the book so he can read it.
I CHANGE MY MIND
I forgot I can talk to animals (walk with the animals. Grunt, squeak and squawk with the animals).
Dire wolf Leek turns back to regular Leek.
Perception: 16 (to see if there is anything weird about the rat)
Then I will talk to it.
Simple ideas: Where is big creature? Other room? (point to other G's door)
Nothing weird about that rat
(And the manipulated die result is I originally posted an attack and then deleted it, realizing that I actually have abilities that are useful)
"there will be time to read books later, we have a more pressing matter at hand."
The rat squeeks and squawks, relaying information to Leek, "The big one flees towards long burrow to forest. If you stalk big one, must chase now."
Sounds like we need to book it to get the bad guy, let's roll!!!!
