Zanther smiles at Guardok. "Excellent plan! I'll certainly look forward to having you at the regular club meetings."
Pierogives Knapan appraising look. "I'll think about it. I'm quite content with my own study methods. But perhaps I could join you for a bit. We'll see."
With a fair portion of the tavern crowd focused on Aurora, she begins her performance. The first piece is without lyrics, a fairly high tempo instrumental piece though in a somber minor key. The next piece is a slower song, a tale of lovers that never seem to connect until one meets an unexpected death. After those, she plays a series of lighter pieces with more poetic lyrics and more of a dancing rhythm to them.
For those paying attention to such things, you would notice that Aurora has a class of a deep red wine that she drinks between pieces. As the one glass goes empty you notice a waiter delivers another glass, replacing the empty one.
As always while enjoying the performances of Aurora, Malvyn would drift into en almost eerie state of trance, the glow of his fiery red eyes fading slightly as the music takes him back to the hauntingly beautiful misty dark forest. With the lighter pieces he seems to re-emerge and simply enjoy the songs, his purple tail swaying slowly to the rythm of the music.
Mei wishes very much that she could Detect Malvyn's thoughts, to see where he goes during these trances. His other expressions, however, she need no divination magic to decipher.
The petite diviner perks up when the waiter delivers a fresh glass of... well, she's not so sure now. The last time she'd tried to order the same thing, it'd been suggested she have something else. And Malvyn had seemed a bit cagey about it too. She knows it's none of her business, but she can't help but be curious.
As the set continues, Mei, as she's wont to do when still and quiet for too long, dozes off. Slowly, she slumps over in her chair until her temple rests on whoever's sitting beside her (or out of the chair completely if no one is close enough).
Not wanting to drink so much that he struggles to wake in the morning, Guardok sticks to the one drink. He in truth isn't even sure the Apple Slush has any alcohol in it, but better safe than sorry.
He stays quiet as Aurora plays, especially after Mal hushes them. Unfortunately he can't help tapping along by drumming his fingers on the table every so often.
Knap also sticks to one drink. He notices Mei nod off on his shoulder. He gently sways to her breathing and the music, proud to in some small way guard her dreaming. We should get the dreamer back to Dresar soon.
Aurora continues with her songs, alternating from poetic ballads to more lively dances. One song is a stirring romantic tale. Another one of tragic love lost. She ends with a more adventurous tale, bleak but with a mostly happy ending.
Cadoras is a bit surprised as Mei head nods over against Knap. "Is she alright?" he asks. Piero, still working on finishing off his drink, responds. "Have you not seen her doze in class? I think this is normal."
Zanther starts to focus on on the music, growing quiet. Applauding politely at the end, he says, "Friends, I think it's time that I take my leave. Thank you so much for inviting me Guardok." He stands, preparing to leave.
A short while after ending her set, Aurora makes her way back toward the table. A smile on her face she sets down her hurdy gurdy. As she gets to the table, the waitress is there with another glass of dark red wine. "The gentleman tiefling wanted to make sure you had this."
The purple-skinned tiefling simply gives the well-built fire genasi a small smile and a wave as he gets up and leaves. It had been nice of Zanther to join them and he hoped to see more of the pleasant man ahead.
As Aurora gets back to their table, Malvyn is quick to get up and pull out her chair for her, then taking his seat beside her again. "That was lovely, as always, you know I have my favourites but that last one was a nice new acquaintance to make."He says with an affectionate smile. As the waitress mentions a gentleman tiefling, Malvyn at first is confused and looks around for that gentleman, almost getting into a state of jealousy before realizing he himself was that gentleman, blushing at his own insecurity. "It was really Mei's suggestion having something for you." He says quickly, glancing over at the dreamer who in fact was dreaming now. "I think she stayed awake for most of your performance at least, you should feel honoured."He says quietly to the raven-haired performer with a playful wink.
"Glad you made it", Guardok replies to Zanther. "I was thinking, do you know any air genasis? I have been mulling over an idea for a band. I would call it, Earth, Wind and Fire!", he asks. "We could write some dance songs. Maybe an idea for after exams though".
When Aurara returns, he gives her some applause.
"Great set, Aurora. You have such a range of songs. I prefer the more lively ones, but they are all good".
"Sounds like you will have some strong competition for that stage."The purple-skinned tiefling says in a half-joking tone to the raven-haired performer at his side as Guardok mentions starting a band with Zanther. "I hope your collaboration with Mae will turn out well by the way. When will you be performing you think?"He curiously asks Aurora, taking another sip from his Blue Streak, enjoying the taste of it. "Maybe you will all collaborate on stage one day?"He says, looking around at the others at the table. He was sincere about the idea, seeing all his friends together on stage would feel nice, he was sure of it, he would likely feel a bit left out though as he had nothing to contribute with.
Knap waves to Zanther and clicks his fingers as Aurora returns, doing so gently as to not wake Mei. Though he couldn’t help chuckle at Cadoras’ classroom comment.
“You’re onto something,” Knap smiles at Piero, “I like to think she’s needed somewhere else. I just wish we could help sweep away the darker dreams.”
Knap swirls his fingers in the air and whispers a Druidic hum as the air around Mei is blended with scent of lavender fields.
The tension which had been growing in Mei's brows--perhaps from something in a Dream--eases at the scent of lavender. She snores lightly as she nuzzles further into Knap's shoulder, the poor Satyr seemingly stuck.
Her Unholy Thrill sits only half-finished on the table and she seems quite undisturbed by the general chatter at the table and in the tavern.
Aurora replies to Malvyn. "I am supposed to meet Mei tomorrow." She pauses, looking thoughtful for a moment. "Pretty sure we'll get something put together and we talked about doing the song Sunday. Hopefully you'll get to hear it soon." She finishes up her glass of wine, staring over at the tiefling. "What now Mal? I am ready to go whenever you would like to."
Pierosmiles at Knap's comment. "Yea, perhaps that is what it is, she is off collecting whatever visions her dreams have to offer." He watches with curiosity as Knapwhispers and creates some effect about Mei.
Cadoras glances over at Piero, seeming less sure about Knap'sconcept. "I never thought of someone having business to do while they're actually asleep!" He glances over at Mei again. "You're all sure she's fine? Shouldn't we wake her up? Or take her to bed?"
"Yes, perhaps Mei should get to bed." The purple-skinned tiefling says with a slightly concerned look, then finishing his glass of wine. "I'm ready too." He says to the raven-haired performer with a small smile, getting up and getting her chair. "Good night dear friends, and see you in the study lounge tomorrow at dawn then?" He says with a wink, looking around at the others still at the table.
Guardok stretches and nods at those suggesting it is time to leave.
"I could do with some sleep, that's for sure", he says. "I might be a little late in the morning though, Mal. Will get to study straight after my exercises", he adds, not mentioning when exactly that would be.
With that he jumps down from his chair, ready to go.
As others suggest it, Cadoras decides to try to wake Mei. "Excuse me? Mei? Perhaps we should get you back to your room?" He offers to walk with her to make sure she makes it back.
Aurora had gotten up with Malvynand is at his side as he prepares to go. Piero, seeing the others preparing to leave, does the same. He looks at Malvynquestioningly. "At dawn? Really? Please do not wake me up!"
It seems most everyone is going. Certainly, any of those that wish to may head back to Dresar Hall together.
Mei wakes with apologies quick off her tongue for having fallen asleep. Especially on Knap's shoulder (whom she thanks for being a very comfortable makeshift pillow). Glad to have Cadoras' company for as long as possible, she happily accepts his offer to walk back together. But as the group exits the tavern, Mei excuses herself quickly back inside claiming she wants to leave a tip. Which... she does.
But she alsooo lets her curiosity get the better of her and inspects Aurora's glass still on their table (assuming the wait staff hasn't gotten to it yet!).
After, she hurries back out to join the group and, having gotten a little nap in, finds herself quite awake again. She sings some of the songs from earlier in the evening and dances along as they make their way back, enjoying their last moments of pre-study freedom.
(If there's still any liquid left, she'll take a sip :3 )
"Yes, well it was a poor attempt at joking, I doubt any of us will be studying quite at dawn but maybe we will all meet up eventually in the lounge."The purple-skinned tiefling says with a small smile to Piero.
As the friends leave the Bow's End tavern Malvyn walks close to Aurora through the Strixhaven night, smiling sillily and humming along with Mei's singing. "See you tomorrow then friends, and thanks for a nice evening." He says after a while as he and the raven-haired performer eventually part ways with the others.
Cadoras helps Meiout of the place and Piero also accompanies the group as they go. Aurora remains close to Malvynas they walk.
At the door, Meidoes slip back inside the tavern. "Hey, I won't let you get away that easy!" Cadoras says as he follows. Aurora's glass is still on the table, but it only has a very small residual amount at the bottom. The liquid clearly has a scent of alcohol and earthy tones.
Zanther smiles at Guardok. "Excellent plan! I'll certainly look forward to having you at the regular club meetings."

"Hmm," Piero replies. "Maybe it's just the way she is. The Dreamer."
