"Midnight", Guardok repeats, then looks down the corridor to the room he shares with Piero. If he goes back there, he is likely to get questions, or at the least feel guilty.
He wonders what time it is, and if they are serving food downstairs. If they are, he will go and get some, and if not he will go and do a bit of sword practice outside.
It is about time that dinner would be served downstairs. And there is plenty of time to do a few things before midnight rolls around.
Guardok can easily get in some sword practice and go for dinner.
Maeeasily finds Larine upstairs in her room. "Would you like me to follow along? As a lookout?" she suggests. "I could alert you if someone's coming. Umm, somehow."
Mae leaned against the wall once she was talking to Larine. "I suppose that would be helpful. Perhaps it would help lend credibility as well in case we get caught, although it would also mean you getting in trouble." She sighed a little. "I'll be so grateful when this is over. I don't want to sneak around doing questionable activities. I'd much rather be playing music at a tavern or something." She looked over at Larine, "I will be a little more glad if you are there though. But I think I want to rest after something to eat."
"Great," Larine says. "Mind if I get something to eat with you? Then I might rest a bit myself. I'll drop by your room a bit before midnight?" Assuming Mae agrees, the two go and finish off their dinner, go their separate ways, then reconvene at Mae'sdoor later.
The others presumably finish up whatever they had wished to do as well and soon it was nearly midnight and time to meet for their clandestine activities.
(OOC - Last chance if there is anything you want to do before heading to the manor. Then we will presume Mae, Malvyn, and Guardok all meet and head off towards the manor with Larine in tow.)
He meets the others wearing his darkest clothes, and making sure he has a hat or cowl to hide his distinctive turquoise gem-like hair. He will go armed, in case they have to fight off the defences, but hopes they can just sneak around and avoid them.
Mae will gladly have dinner with Larine and then get a nap before they go down to meet Guardok and Mal and head off to the manor, nothing else she needs to do!
Malvyn would bring up dinner to his room to eat while going through the map one last time to memorize the route he would suggest. He wasn't about to see Aurora this evening, not that he expected her to talk him out of the break in, in fact she would probably encourage him, and even want to come, but there was a real risk here and he didn't want her involved should anything go awry. He would also have time to rest some more before making his way downstairs to meet up with the others at midnight.
Right about midnight, the group of Mae, Larine, Guardok, and Malvyn find themselves making their way across the campus, towards Captain Dapplewing's Manor. It is very quiet at this hour, though the campus is far from deserted. You notice one or two students here and there making their way from one place to another. Some move quickly and others seem content to take a slow stroll. But none seem to pay any attention to you.
The night is cold, though not freezing as the season is headed towards spring. The skies are clear, allowing the waning moon to provide some light. However, as you walk there are patches of mist here and there. And the grounds of the manor, as they start to come into view ahead, are a little bit foggy. Following the tree-lined path, you stop at a massive oak tree in the front yard of the building. "I think this is where I wait," Larine says. "If I spot anyone coming, I can make a sound, like a bird, to let you know." She makes a motion with her hand and you hear a shrieking bird, though the sound is soft. "Just like that, but loud."
The three of you continue on until you are standing outside the front of the two-story manor. The veranda is before you, with the steps leading up to the porch and the double front doors. (You are basically at the very bottom of the map now.)
Mae nods and gives Larine a small smile as they part, and turns her attention to the manor as the walk up. "All right, I presume you know where we're going now? Anything I need to know here?"
"Basically, first things first is we need to head up to the porch and search under the flower pots for a key", Guardok replies to Mae.
"And we had better try and be a little stealthy as we approach. Once in, we can assume that there will be animated armour and swords moving about. We know where they were during the day, but that likely won't mean anything now", he continues.
When the others are ready, he is also ready to sneak across to the porch and start searching for the key
The group moves to the porch, searching the potted plants for the key. Malvynmanages to spot it just inside the pot immediately to the right of the double doors. There are no sounds or movements so far.
Key in hand, where do you head for now? Guardok and Malvynrecall that just inside the front double doors are the two automated dwarf attendants. There were glass doors off the decks in the back.

"Well I'll certainly try. Flying swords sounds very dangerous too, goodness." Mae frowns slightly but begins looking around for the key as well.
